K24_glanza Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Just looking for some info on this as I am thinking of buying this set up. How responsive is this set up, is it Good enough for track use and is the TD04 better suited to the 4e? Quote
K24_glanza Posted December 17, 2015 Author Posted December 17, 2015 Only looking for around 250bhp. Quote
Jamie_VF22 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 TD05 = more lag If your only wanting 250bhp stick with TD04 less lag and better suited to track imo Quote
ReeceGolliker Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Id say td04, or td04 hybrid if you're after 300bhp, for 250bhp a td05 will be too much and will just give you extra lag! Quote
ReeceGolliker Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Or WEPR's gt20 kit, that thing is art Quote
5e colin Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 (edited) tf035hm faster spool then any tdo4 but still 240bhp possible iddy got 250 and a tat on his mapped tdo5 is very much fun but very small p0ower window Edited December 17, 2015 by 5e colin Quote
Gainzy Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Blitz k1 ct9 or TF035 or TD04L nothing bigger for track use imo when I have the 5E built I might use the k1 ct9 I have faith it can pull out 250 at least! Can't go wrong with the other two turbo's though Quote
5e colin Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 ct9 hybrid exhaust passage is to small for 5e the engine will choke uptop Quote
Ep82gi Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Ever ridden a two stroke? Same principal really all it's doing its moving the start of the power band ( boost) up the Rev range so if your on boost at 4K for arguments sake hold it at about 3.8-3.9k through the bends and pin it coming out you wouldn't noticed the lag if driven "HARD" to be honest but if you would rather stay off the throttle completely then stay ct9 throttle balance is a mind fu*k to begin with but it will improve lap times a lot if don't correctly. TimD Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 TF035, I reckon for a track car you don't need much more. We've already seen what happens when you start pushing the envelope, 3rd gear doesn't last very long on track! Can't wait to get mine up and running Quote
Ep82gi Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Try cryo freezing you gear Sycros works well iirc Quote
jayc-glanza17 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Liam not everyone is hardcore.lol.I would sort handling out before power man.Brakes etc before track. My td05 18g hits 1.5 bar by 4500 rpm.But my spec is different to most regarding ecu and stuff. Also your map will make a difference.A bad map can make any turbo seem laggy..Theirs so many variables. If road use td05 is noticably laggy. But a td04 is best all round turbo for track and road thats fairly cheap Quote
Ep82gi Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Naa man I know that man but if your going to go out on track killing it then properly kill it don't do a half assed job lool Quote

ROTABOOST Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I love my TD05 but as above if you should stick to a td04 for 250hp. Quote

Gainzy Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 i'd suggest you don't run the any variant of ct9 on a 5e.......td04l at leastYeah it won't be the k1 I'd rather run the TD04 than most others on a 5E can imagine it will pick up nice and strong pull all the to top end what's the most power from a 5E td04L was looking into ct12 but I've heard there not that good... K24_glanza Posted December 23, 2015 Author Posted December 23, 2015 How does the k1 compare to a k24? Quote
gorganl2000 Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 from what i've seen on the forums...seem the k24 is in between the k1 and stock td04l so i'd say it must be close to a tf035 in terms of performance Quote
