Ep82gi Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 I use to have one on my quad bike years ago it never stopped the smell just use to prevent me losing petrol if I flipped it. "Witch I did many times" Quote
TurboTobz Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) Been used before, personally I just run a pipe to just beneath the car not had issues. But may not be the best idea. Edited December 28, 2015 by TurboTobz Quote
Cattanach Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I just run a pipe to the little black box attached to the inner wing!Been like that for months with no problems Quote
5e colin Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 why not just block the vent altogether ?? Quote
daniel_g Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 why not just block the vent altogether ??Because its ment to be a vent to release excess vapour in the fuel tank. Quote
5e colin Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 does it any harm ??? because mine is blocked for the past 4 years never noticed any problems ( yet ) Quote
lukEp Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) It'll cause vacuum in your tank if blocked off. If it's blocked off and you don't get a hissing/sucking noise when you undo your fuel cap then your fuel system isn't sealed. If you do get a hissing/sucking noise when you undo your fuel cap then your tank is vacuuming. Basically your fuel pump is sucking the fuel out the tank and air is supposed to replace that space but if air can't get in then your tank will vacuum and implode.
