Ollieh17 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Best piping to use for a DIY manifold? Not too bothered about mild or stainless. Cutting up the piecea and arranging all the bits and a mate is welding it all Quote

Stu Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Mild steel schedule40, 32mm nominal bore steam pipe bends are what I use most of the time. They come in 180's, long or short radius 90's and 45's Quote
GP82 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Yeah steam pipe SC40 get's my vote. Very tough and last's many heat cycle's and test of time. Only thing is it can get surface rust, but this does not affect anything performance wise. Quote
Ollieh17 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Will i come across any issues having mild steel pipes with stainless flanges? Quote
Siwfc Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 No mate, when you weld the 2 together use 309 stainless dissimilar rods.. You'll be bang on pal!!! Quote
Siwfc Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 If you need any Tig rods I've a pile of 1.2mm 309 here I can send you! Quote
