akyakapotter
So yesterday while out on track I noticed that for the ksports to work I had to really stamp on the pedal wasnt really doing anything when I pressed for what felt like aged. I'd say there is quarter of the pedal travel before it decied to work quite scary when your coming into a corner at 100mph. Noticed it on the way home aswell no pedal feel for aged then they would work. Any one have any ideas what could be up. Cheers nick.
jayc-glanza17
You got issue as me bud.Bad news my fueling issue meant i broke down after my track session today.. suspected lift pump fail.Back on topic. I changed my master cylinder and servo and 1 way valve to one that was working on a previous starlet and made minimal difference.
morgey
Sounds like the pads need to get really hot to work properly, do you know what they are?The other thing you can do is boil the fluid just behind the pads, sometimes you'll need to bleed them after a good track session to get good fluid back into the caliper. akyakapotter
I have ebc yellow stuff in them it was like it on the way up to Silverstone almost feels like brake fade but not as I have to push the pedal then push further to make them work. I have decent high temp fluid in there.
maddox710
What brake fluid nick?
AdamB
Change the pads their shit.EBC aren't good enough for a push bike. If anyone says any different, they've not tried decent pads. Something like PFC, Carbotech, Carbone Lorraine, Ferodo UNO, Ferodo DS1.11, Pagid RS to name a few.
jayc-glanza17
I have ferodo ds2500 and have same issue. Its like the servo isnt creating the extra assist as it were.
akyakapotter
I don't think it's the pads Adam never had an issue with ebc Maddox I use this stuff.Yes Jay that's it loads of pedal travel before the brakes do what they are ment to I'm not sure if it's just because I'm so used to driving the lexus now just something dosent feel right hard to explain with out driving it your self. maddox710
Hmm I know ate super blue stuff is quite hyrdroscopic and needs changing often. It can cause vague brake feel
akyakapotter
Hmm I know ate super blue stuff is quite hyrdroscopic and needs changing often. It can cause vague brake feelI see could possibly be that but I've done hardly any millage on this stuff say 3k max.
morgey
My yellow stuff took ages to bed in on my corolla. Nearly went through a junction with them after id been for a bit of a spirited drive where they were fine but after driving through a small village at the far end i nearly didnt stop. Ended up bleeding the brakes again and giving them an extra few hundred miles to bed in then they were fine.
MR-2
Hmm I know ate super blue stuff is quite hyrdroscopic and needs changing often. It can cause vague brake feelHad that fluid several years on my MR2, never had problems or changed...
maddox710
It also has one of the lowest boiling points of any performance based brake fluid
gorganl2000
what size is your BMC? So yesterday while out on track I noticed that for the ksports to work I had to really stamp on the pedal wasnt really doing anything when I pressed for what felt like aged. I'd say there is quarter of the pedal travel before it decied to work quite scary when your coming into a corner at 100mph. Noticed it on the way home aswell no pedal feel for aged then they would work. Any one have any ideas what could be up.Cheers nick. what size BMC do you run?..stock glanza one?---the size is stamped on itreason i ask, i had a similar issue of spongy/vague/lower brake feel when i installed the celica 277mm set up with twin potsstock bmc is 13/16....i changed to 7/8 from a gt and that helped a lot and i was happy againapparently there is a 1" bmc from a solora that may work as well, but that still needs to be verified
akyakapotter
I'm not sure what size it is I will have a look tomorrow when I'm at the car have fresh fluid on route that I'll have tomorrow see how that goes. Cheers nick.
jayc-glanza17
One other thing nick. The one way valve may be giving up..
Tomson
Now i have this same problem, did someone find what was the issue? i was thinking to change my braking fluids aswell, because i didnt find the problem from brake bads/dics (going to change these anyway next month).I checked the brake fluid cap and there was a text "dot 3 only" or something like that.. what i have readed so far is that pretty many people using 5.1? is it possible to mix the current fluid and the 5.1? how about 4.0? (i guess the current fluid is 3.0) i know that there would be an issue with 5.0, but how about 4.0 or 5.1? which one to choose, any other difference than the boiling point?
