  1. I think you seriously jumped the gun though.

One was a simple question asking if it had been fitted yet.

And as you stated above, I'm not out to get WEPR, there are no slanderous threads, no bitchy comments or anything of the sort. Serious exaggeration on your part.

And why is it whenever I comment on something that's not all rainbows, you're usually the first one to pipe up?

I think the simple comment was a bitchy comment in nikhils thread.

As for me being constantly on your case I've had a quick look back through the few threads we have coincided on over past year and found nothing. I don't even recognise the username.

Apologies if this has happened somewhere mate

Hope you get whatever your after for the lambda issue.

  2. Do tell me. Where have I been out to 'get' WEPR again? Up to the point of owning one of WEPR's kits i was quite fond of their work. You like to jump on anyone who actually had an honest opinion. What's the deal with that? Don't like the truth?

I'm more than willing to take your word that you haven't been complaining about WEPR unduly and that all complaints have been warranted and in keeping with reality.

I'm very happy to hear the truth and sorry to hear of your issue with fitment of the WEPR kit.

That's not to norm obviously but I can see why you'd reiterate your issue when someone else finds a similar issue.

I think maybe between this thread and the leading query in nikhils thread 'have you fitted it yet' (insinuating that all may not be as rosy if he had) I thought there was a trend.

Anyways everybody has different ways of dealing with issues and maybe yours is legitimate after all.

    Peace ✌️

Certainly not trying to sub due any honest feedback.

  3. I like soft 888s on the gt

But no use for anything other than what I'm doing

Track day would kill a set

I'm currently using maxsport rb5 and you can ignore the reviews online that compare them to a good rally tyre, they are night and day better than a road tyre once they get warmed up

  4. So once you have set them hot down to 28-30 what's your cold pressure after they have sat for a few hours? Let them cool and don't adjust the then see how the car reacts when you take it back out on track, I bet you add a couple of pounds after warming them up, this was the scientific part I couldn't understand.

I will contact him today and get him to write me an explanation, he's Jensenracing on Facebook, he is like a bible of information

Yeah let me know whatever you find

They don't get to sit for more than 40/50min between runs and seem steady in around 30 for most of the day

  5. I dont get why people want to swap engines but not move away from the chassis? Thats the biggest issue with them.

Yup its not great but if someone is REALLY in a good position to do a rotor swap or similar it's not something they couldn't sort.

I think for a fast road car or drag where handling isn't such an issue I always thought 4agte or more recently maybe the 2zz but both need a gearbox swap as well.

K20 would be better in that sense

    Or a vw 1.8t

Anyways as interesting as there threads can be hypothetically- your really going to here of someone share a barely formed idea who will actually be in a position to make it happen.

I think that a 1.8t rwd swap could be done as cheaply if you had the skills on hand to do it than say a k20 turbo fwd swap. Cheaper probably

Anyways I'd say that if you were given a time attack style challenge and 10k and it had to be hot hatch you wouldn't find anything faster than a Ibiza cupra

  6. Is 5th gear on its own in the end cap? Like 5th has to be taken out before the casing comes off? Also one box I just want to get the diff out and the other 5th haha, is the diff a straight forward job with the front casing off?

kinda ya but getting the diff out without 5th coming off means fucking around with 2 hidden bolts inside there a real cunt to fit back

if you have the tools then strip it completely

I would def go for diff only personally.

IF thats all your looking to achieve.

The two bolts inside are shown on tuturials on TGTT or here maybe, and the are easy fitted back together if you fit the reverse selector very loosely using one bolt before reassembly

  7. I will have a word for the correct explaination on this mate as I simply cannot explain it myself

Cheers man, interested to hear, cause prob very applicable to me as I have to use road legal tyres (though some Tarmac rally tyres are legal which i use)

Similarly to you Tim, I start 26front and 28rear and that'll lift to 36-34 after first practice (few minutes after sitting) and then set to 28-30 and left at that for the rest of the day

Will take more care to check throughout the day next event. Have to buy a tyre temp probe thing.

  8. don't ever go out cold then come in hot and let pressure out, my instructor gave me a right telling off for that, it makes the sidewalls softer and does create massive understeer.

My AD08R are run at 26 fr 24 rear cold, took loads of testing to get that right as well, they certainly do raise upto and over 8psi but thats fine as its the cold temp that determines the sidewall stability.

That's what all the top guys do here.

Though they aren't running fast road tyres which is probably why.

Suppose it all depends on the tyre and what your wanting it to do

    Phil

  9. It's a guessing game, ambient and track temps play a part.

If it were me, I'd start on 26 at the front and 28 at the rear.

They're 20 minute sessions at Trax, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Tim I know you do abit of track stuff

What sort of pressures do you run?

Or is it trackday stuff where you aren't back in the pits - ie once your out there you have to stay out
