The sad truth about scams is that most victims do not get their money back. This is because it is often very difficult to track down the person or group that has scammed you. If you have sent money to an overseas company, UK government agencies cannot help you get your money back as those companies are out of their jurisdiction. Copied for info Phil

Bottom line. neither Asbo Gee or Adam should leave or be thrown off a forum. the situation is one whereby shouting the loudest or demanding things wont get you them any faster. Im quite sure in the past 2years Adam has provided satisfactory evidence that he paid the monies to the company who have stolen it. the only person who has done anything wrong is the company who scammed you. i agree 100% AdamB doesnt seem to have taken 15k and done anything with it apart from what all the buyers wanted him to do (Ie give it to this company) The fact the company has stolen it and not delivered gearboxes is their fault their crime not anyone elses. For that reason i can understand how Adam can live with this on his conscience, cause he has no choice. he can be as sorry as he wants and it wont bring the money back, so he is actually worse of than anyone that joined him on the group buy. (lost the money and hated and hunted for it) If it where me it be chasing the company who scammed me instead of making someones life a misery when they owe you nothing. Ask yourself what would happen in an ideal world? the scamming company would get nailed and pay well beyond repayment. I know we dont live in an ideal world but expecting AdamB to give you his assets is down right daft. Phil

what about a meeting of minds to try and pinpoint the scammer and take whatever information you have to the police? is there no hope of chasing the fellas responsible down? Phil

Just to finish my involvement in this thread as i can see that this is a long standing issue and a understandable sore point for both Gee and his brother from the same mother Legally provided AdamB has proof that the monies paid to him where then paid to the scammer, he is in the clear. as no terms where specifically provided by AdamB it would be safe to assume that he is not covering liablilty for third party insurance issues. and therefore must be taken up with the provider(in this case unfortunately the scammer) you've been bent over a barrell Gee but not by AdamB, and Asbo i understand the frustration. but facts are you trusted someone, and he proceeded on your behalf, it went south, but the trusted person (adamb) at no point tried to fool or con you. The scam/company should be pursued by legal means. Phil

Asbo it would appear you are struggling to use the Quote function correctly. by the way im not suggesting AdamB should get off scott free, im sure he wouldnt be overly offended if having made an unapproved groupbuy that contravenes UKS policy he could be banned or penalised in some way. he would probably understand that punishment is a reasonable part of life. im just saying in this unapproved group buy you all got stung. i assume adam didnt keep the money and buy a thai bride and that actually the company stole your money. Gee, honestly not looking to twist words, or defend any middle men. But your example of a plane company/a shop/ and a customer is not the same as the situation your in. the shop couldn't fob you off as they are regulated by the financial standards agency. AdamB on the other hand is someone you have met on an online forum and trusted enough to have him source you a part, id say that puts you pretty much in his team. and the whole lot of you were scammed by a much larger company. only the company have set out to do something wrong. But i do feel for you and if AdamB could afford to provide insurance for this little venture then all well and good. but it seems he cant. Phil

sounds like until the company refunds/reappears it would be unreasonable to expect anyone to reimburse anyone else. Granted the member shouldnt have refered to you as customers but thats hardly legally binding unless he planned to make money by bring these boxs in. push comes to shove you put your faith in a middle man and got stung but not by the middle man. if it was me and i wanted to leave tomorrow, i would go and speak to the most senior person i knew, well above your immediate manager. ask for a brief chat, explain that you have a job waiting and your ready to go, explain that you have a desire to leave ASAP as your immediate lady manager makes your daily work a nightmare (call her professionalism into question if you want) and say that you want to know in the frankest terms if anyone would mind if you worked no notice and if they do mind how much notice would they require without begrudging you your exit? important to stress that you want to leave on good terms and that you appreciate how important that is and that lifes to short to get on the wrong side of people, but that you want to know where you stand so you can leave ASAP without causing offence. my 4e build was a bit higher spec than marks build with cams etc, and it made 330 with your average td05 16g at 1.5 bar so 350 is very possible with the average 16g, this was all mapped on a emu, bhp figures is all just for pub talk anyway guys, its spool, response,traction and reliability your after if your wanting a good track car, but good luck to mark hitting the 400 hp mark , my cars been down at td since april and still not started to yet :|, but ill post results on my thread with power out put with the greddy 18g when ever it gets done! (after you introduced yourself via pm pokerface the penny has dropped lol) Just realised just why your engine made such good power on your average td05 16g. I built your 4e about 4year ago (lose terminology as my mate actually built it) and it was high comp with trd hg and 265 cams. that'll be the reason your result was nice and impressive. Phil
