Head gasket failure prevention? Tips and Tricks?
Phil replied to kashkash7867's topic in Lifestyle General
a thinner HG coupled with a low comp piston(turbo) or thinner HG with crowned pistons(NA) keeps the direction of ignition/combustion away from the gasket seal. (flat tops with thick hg being the least ideal scenario) But as said above if your experiencing detonation (no matter your sweet bum AFR) your HG will poop itself. Phil -

I take it the 3k reference is to Glanza87(sp) ? he got dogs abuse as im sure you are aware. as for your sale, as ive said no one would appreciate the comment (or like it as you've said) but its a free forum, you are free to sell as a non trader and we are free to comment so long as its not a hate campaign. you're at our mercy it seems. as for you making a lose... thats trader talk... what im sure you meant to say was your delighted to recoup 90% of your costs for a part that you would really love to be able to keep Phil

20R and P20 are the same measurements as far as IHI is concerned, but they are definately not the same housings. R housings are for RHB's, and P housings are for RHF's Newer design. VF8 compressor is 46mm/60mm in/ex. VF12 compressor is 47mm/60mm in/ex. Of course you're comparing RHB to RHF, so extrapolate what you will. Oh and a TD05-16G small is 46.5mm/60mm in/ex on the compressor. Thats the small bit of info i found that had me thinking of this thread again. though been intrigued by this comment on tgtt about a GT28...JAWarehouse GT28 ball bearing with td04 flange Phil

http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/61478-volk-racing-ce28/ yourself and Amjad having a disagreement. Feb. nothing major mind. Though i would say that, whilst you may not like the apparent freedoms on UKs-whatever if you went elsewhere where opinions/chitchat are cleared from sales threads.... you would actually find yourself questioned about trading (going by your threads started since Nov) rough with the smooth eh? PS forgetting this thread (which will naturally attract animosity) and based solely on Amjad post i personally wouldnt appreciate it and would like to see it

its is, but not a identical, its much older for a start, its RBH52 i think rather than a newer RBF casting. anyways, what id really like to know is can i throw a p18 exhaust housing on instead of my p20 one (will it fit/hit exhaust blades) and alos very interested to know was a p20 housing sourced by @GP82 ? (to stay on topic and all that jazz) Phil

not sure if you got sorted. but just to add ive been reading around and it would seem that the P20 (VF22/23) RHF is almost the same as the VF8/VF12 exhaust housings all of which are roughly ar60? Phil

The whole inside in grey wouldnt look odd against the black exterior would look very smart and tidy. remember with the windows/perspec in and doors/boot it will seperate the interior and exterior again. its only when the car is in this state of undress that you consider it all together and worry about a clash. it def wont clash... but it will definitely cook you in there!!!!
