  1. Because they're money pits when you spend big and something goes wrong it costs a fortune to fix along with the added stress. Sometimes enough is enough for people. Just because a lot is spent doesn't mean it will work better it can become a real ball ache the more you do.

Especially if its a daily driver.

a forged big power build is a nasty daily driver.

  2. I would like a red one at some point myself iamlegend.

    not a V though. yuk.

we all need different things at different points in life.

i wish i still had my Ep82 gt advance it was sweet, but if i had concentrated on other things a while back and sold the car. i would but much worse off now.

i got married, changed jobs, bought a house, bought a mk2 gt now as a project.

already forged, got a big turbo kit ready for it and everything else bar wastegate and ECU.

    The circle of life....

  3. i agree, i think you shouldn't be able to post a picture of your own car in this thread.

Well thats maybe abit far as alot of people do own Epic Eps. D3NO for example just above us here.

Like there is alot of nice pictures in here, but where is the mad power claims or owner claims that have made them infamous or epic, or where is the drag time pace setters? etc.

best i stop questioning the epicness and just keep the pictures coming.

  4. Asian manufacturer - Rice.

    Correct.

(Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt) A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to): - Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder - Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747 - Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool - Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself - Bodykit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire - Clear tail lights and corner signals - A "performace intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine) - Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therfore not always considered rice. It really depends on the severity of the case.

    Lol hilarious.

  5. The most important is to know with what other parts the K26 is hybrided to. You can have a Hybrid with bigger turine and it means powers and lag as you can have a smal turbine that produces more response and less lagg

Agreed, it's all guesswork without any Info about the k26.

  6. Anyone have an opinion/experience on the ecu's they've ran on stock turbo? What plug+plays are out there besides jam and mines?

Iinfo on every availible model on TGTT.com

    search it.

  7. If your keeping the stock turbo I would definately go for a plug n play as they are designed for the stock turbo set up imo any other turbo change is worth getting a proper map to prevent running lean :)

not correct though as nobody has any idea what the plug and play ecus are mapped for.

but alot will have been mapped for stock turbos.

    the assumption is that simply,

it will probably overfuel sweetly on a stock turbo at 1bar with no fuel cut.

but it may have been mapped for a K26 on 460cc injectors at 1.6bar.

  8. find yourself a harness and generic map sensor on the bay handy enough.

import taxes you could avoid with a gift wrap request lol

but i suppose there is a chance you could get stung, but even if it end up costing you 500 you would have an upgrade on existing.

which with a plug and play i dont believe you really do.
