I heard of a few people when buying a new thermostat to put it in a boiling saucepan to crack the seal so it opens up and you know it's ok

for a while now I have had a relocation pipe to front grill, as lots have on here, my question is please, when you buy the location kit, the end alloy pipe only measures around 50mm I have always used an air filter with a 51mm inner diameter hole, it does do the job and was ok when went on a rolling road, but I do notice people with bigger air filters and do wonder how (with not much space) get these big filters on with bigger inner diameters to slot it on stupid question here I know but was just wondering how others get around it with less space to play with. Thanks Pat

Update, turned the fcd to 12 as haven't had time to take it off but it's coming off very soon so leaving it at 12 to I do, lowered the fpr to around 2.6bar now have readings at 5k revs and over of 11.4-11.7 that's on full boost, from reasearch and everyone's help that to me seems about spot on.

That's bloody wicked mate 👍🏻

Hello rob how strange I did just mention in the fpr setting post, I did turn it off mate which is 12, but have it set on 10 at the moment running standard ecu and standard boost 0.65bar with 3.1 on the fpr it seems to be in the high 11's at wot, it will stay like that until I take my foot off then go from 10. Something to --- until I put my foot back on then normal again but I know it goes to the --- when you take foot off throttle anyway

I had mine set to 2.3bar mate on my sard fpr, only to find that at wot the Wideband was reading 16.2 on the gauge, I'm all for advice rob but please explain that, that's running standard ecu and standard boost 0.65bar, -

Undo the bottom screw with a 12mm spanner then with a 10mm spanner twist the top screw as you watch the needle on the gauge drop down to around 2.4 bar then nip the bottom screw back up tight -

I'm not sure a everyday garage would know about air/fuel ratios etc the only way mate is a Wideband fitted or a rolling road -

what should fuel pressure reg be set at
patman replied to tayjuniour2015's topic in Lifestyle General
Yeah I would say that's running pretty rich, I was adjusting my fuel pressure last night with the Wideband I did go as high as 3.5 bar on mine, this was set at idle with engine warmed up to temp took it for a spin and was getting 10.2 on my Wideband and was like shit that's too rich, if I was you I would set the fuel pressure regulator to 3.1 bar and just drive normal, no boosting etc until you can get it on a rolling road, my fpr is now set around 3.2bar on warm idle and I'm getting good results at WOT (wide open throttle) full boost in other words -

I see what you mean mate, if everything is standard I would put it back down to 2.4bar on the fpr but then your need to know for sure with a air/fuel ratio gauge or rolling road to make sure it's not running lean etc, double check where the ecu is there isn't a fuel cut defender aswell -

This bloke is from another planet haha and I mean that in a good way, one of the most genuine people I have ever came across, got a fantastic deal off him for some shocks and rsr springs, all boxed and picked up by courier his end, (had proof all the way through) courier was very slow getting it to me, but rock kick ass was on there case constantly and keeping in touch with me sending proof as time went on, there's him bless him getting angry with the courier ringing them up, talking to there live chat, but I wasn't mad as I know it wasn't his fault because he always kept me in the know, that

Another little up date, just been up and down the dual carriage way stopping off in different places tweaking the fpr, as it stands I'm getting 13s-14s readings just before load so around 2k-3k revs, at WOT (this may sound stupid but what revs would you say wot is at 4k, 5k 6k?) just to be sure here, anyway I haven't taken my car over 5k and a half revs ( never have) but I'm getting around 11.9-12.2 at 5k revs, fpr is set on 3.2 bar not sure if that is high just for a standard ish car, may need to go a tad higher to get around 11.5 at wot, hks fcd is on 10, so a lot better than when I first s

Hello potter thanks for that only had the car idling up to temp since I changed the fpr setting, it's currently on 3.1 bar and Wideband is around 14.7, will try and get out today see how the Wideband readings are now doing after a few adjustments

Thankyou mate, not sure how different a ct9 would be from a td04

Can I just get this right what readings I'm looking for and for anyone else in the future: On idle at start up: On idle when up to temp: Normal driving not on boost say 2k-3k revs: And reading on WOT: What readings do people get please
