I am using 5w 40 fully syn oil, on start up mines around 60/70 psi, warmed up idle sits at 20psi at WOT mines up the 60's psi something like that what readings you getting mate
-
Thanks for the tip jay mate I didn't even realise not getting any feedback on this jay so not sure it's gonna happen what ever date
-
Might be a long shot mate go on eBay and type in starlet breaking, there's a ep82 black with orange alloys on there, engine hasn't long been rebuilt by the looks of it
-
I've seen jelly with less wobble in it then my ct9
patman replied to Gumball89's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
I take it you gone through all the right channels when turboing your na? And also why didn't you check the turbo before it went on -
If you go for magnecore leads you can ring them up they will do a king lead for you If you go for magnecore leads you can ring them up they will do a king lead for you
-
I will say one then though mate when my bottom end was going it would idle when warm and the oil light was flickering
-
I know what you mean Ollie it's a pain in the arse hoping it isn't a rebuild, is there anyway at all you can get that gauge rigged up?
-
Thankyou Mikey and of course Thankyou for your help as usual :-)
-
Top bloke Mikey is, had lots of convo's with him and even phone calls, he doesn't have to use his free time to help but he does and that's a fantastic bloke in my book
-
I would get that gauge sorted ASAP mate see what readings you get, and just hope it's an electrical problem, have you got access to another car for now? In what I learned and read though if everything's right and there is a problem the damage is already done
-
Another update lads to close the thread changed the sensor over today to the right one (which Devon posted above) and everything (touch wood) is fine, took the car for a drive up the dual carriage way (with town driving before) about 10 miles all in all going between 60-80mph gauge never went above 92 degrees ish 👍🏻
-
Yes mate of course, if you have hi-lo boost you can just press to hi don't forget if I remember low boost is 0.4 bar high is 0.6 bar I wouldn't go higher than that without supporting mods, like I always say someone on here will know for sure but I'm certain I'm right on this one
-
0.6 bar mate providing the hi-lo boost has been taken off so you only have high boost
-
Brought so magnecore leads of him Thankyou so much mate well appericated and at a fantastic price too 😄

That's the one Devon mate bingo what a nightmare if you look at the evo gauge then the prosport stepper gauge there numbers going up in degrees are not the same angle So for example 100 degrees on the evo gauge would be about 115-120 on the prosport gauge what a pain it's been in hoping this is the solution
-
I have this oil temp sensor in there http://rspec.co.uk/b-gauge-sensors-senders-b/r-spec-jpn-type-oil-water-temperature-sensor It's the wrong one as I have the prosport gauge not the evo lcd gauge or jdm one
-
Not so sure now Devon mate came back on the dual carriage way home about 7 miles at about 70/75mph gauge was back up to 110 degrees dam thing
-
Just alittle update I have now earthed the black wire and getting different readings like Mikey said in text the readings are out 15-20 degrees and just took it for a good spin and touch wood the readings are down was giving it some up and down the duel carriage way and was getting readings off 95 ish degrees NOT 120 degrees
-
That's a good idea Tim Thankyou very much for that also the car doesn't smell like its getting hot, runs as it should and Mikey mate it's got to be the gauge or sensor boost works fine and so does the oil pressure just the temp
-
Thankyou for the reply guys, I really do think it's the gauge or the sensor as you say as everything else is fine, motor was built by my friend Adam who has his own garage and only works on jap cars, all tolerances, torque settings was done all good as I must of kept checking everything 5 times over the sensor was brought from rspec online they deal in prosport gauges and it's not using water or oil :-) One thing I have noticed if I'm sitting at idle and I do the windows up the oil temp gauge rises about 10 degrees then back down again when I let go of electric windows, I'm thinking I have a

Jesus going up motorway today for 20 miles sitting at 70mph gauge reading 120 degrees had to back off
-
Bump need some feedback please 😀

Hello Adam Thankyou for the reply yes I must of done about 5/6 oil changes and filter too when running it in, water temp on the cluster never goes above half way always alittle under half way, always use the pink anti freeze coolant aswell,
