Hello gang just need alittle advice please, Was under the bonnet today changing air filter and as you do while your there checking hoses plugs and sensors, I put my hand on the icv sensor only for one of the wires to come out (due to age must be being brittle as redone other sensor wires that pop out the hole). Obviously I will get it redone ASAP and connect the wire back up, but my question is will the car be ok to run like that for the next few days, have been out in it since and car just runs normal like it should not even high idle, thanks pat

Brought a manifold then a downpipe off Davies700 fantastic bloke, kept in contact, sent me the tracking numbers, and made sure I was always in the know, without a doubt I would buy off him again and would highly recommend him. Thanks once again mate Pat

patman replied to jayc-glanza17's topic in EP91 Glanza Progress Blogs
Glad your ok Jay mate that's all that matters, saw your car at incarnation Brighton earlier in the year, and of course spoke to you loads in pm on here, but all that aside your ok and that's the main thing, but just to give you a little smile, you definitely got your 15 minutes of fame mate all over Facebook and on here, will get in the queue for an autograph :-) 👍🏻 -
What's the secret then Phil as I know you know your stuff on here I couldn't get my head around mine have a sard fpr and FCD but it just didn't look right
-
This was 3.1 bar on a standard actuator mate 0.65bar, and 8 setting on FCD, melted piston mate that must of been super lean
-
Like this mate? http://www.jdm-ep.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=131_147&products_id=354

Are you not shortening the actuator rod mate to get the right boost showing on your gauge?, there's a nut at the start of the rod then you nip it up when testing out
-
The other week Daniel when I got my wideband fitted I was adjusting the fpr, up and down the duel carriage way stop start stop start, had it set to 8 on the FCD and had to put the fpr up to 3.1 bar to get fuelling right but thought that's way to high so in the end just switched it to 12 now I get 11.5 ish at wot which I thought was spot on just thought the FCD is too much hassle
-
Good call Russ mate the cars quick enough under fuel cut, a boost gauge is a must
-
Wouldn't even bother with the FCD they are a disaster waiting to happen need to take mine off but got mine set to 12 at the moment so it's not doing anything, what actuator you got on, you really need a good boost gauge ASAP see what's going on, I could be wrong here but why am I thinking boost creep as fuel cut is around 0.85 bar

Maybe I'm just being anal as they say here but why are the main bearings not being changed aswell? Also just out of curiousity here how many miles has the engine done, when was the cambelt, water pump, oil pump last changed?
-
Have a read of this mate this was me back in October 2014 http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/86453-big-end-and-main-bearing-sizes/?fromsearch=1
-
I used oil mate I lubed everything you know every shell/bearing, crank, and inside the bore, even camshaft, the way I see it if it moves when cranking the engine on first start up it needs lubing, make sure you prime the turbo too aswell when first cranking, once oil comes out of the return hose then put it back on and start her up, (obviously have king lead off when cranking first time) others do it different ways
-
Colin helped me with my bearings I thought was a nightmare getting the right size etc, but I went into toyota and ordered them they were more expensive then acl ones just didn't like the reviews on acl saying recommended change 25,000 miles
-
Without a doubt lube, surely if the answer was dry then I would wanna know a good reason why
-
Thankyou Jay mate yeah had to keep adjusting it bit by bit, as most people say it's not on idle that's counts it's on wot
-
Hello Ryan mate hope your good, if it does the job then I will give it ago thanks mate
-
TTT if anyone's got a fooked actuator with the pivot actuator rod end Please
-
I would of had it mate had the actuator rod end been the pivot type and not the hole type you got

Sorry gainzy mate just seen this yeah that's a good point :-) -
Had something like this on my Astra diesel turbo van a while back, easy to plug in etc, took it straight back out after an hour, revs went up a lot quicker then big jerk and engine stalled, then took 5 minutes again to start it, waste of time and money

Your welcome mate Thankyou once again
