Building a reliable, big power EP....best way
riko666 replied to NightSpirit's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
if you're going to do a 5e/4e Hybrid you will need: 4e/custom pistons 5efhe/custom connecting rods 5e block 5e crank 5e flywheel & clutch (I have a barely Used CAP 5e Paddle clutch for sale...cheap) Whilst you're at it, may as well bore the block out to 74.5 or 75mm and get pistons to suit. Heads are all the same from 4e - 5e series engines. Camshafts, there's 250, 254, 262 & 280 degree...I don't know how they apply to actual applied powerbands though. -
i ran about 10:1 on my 5efhe with no issue, just make sure you have some fuelling modifications to match "incase"

i think im puttin my gt3s on my glanza..

I reckon Shelly isn't a fan of those wheels...so negative Shelly -
D2 Racing is a Taiwanese company, not British
-
you forgot the 5efhe connecting rods too Damn, I've sold you a lot of stuffs
-
if they don't fit, heck knows how I drove my car around Dex chap, the stuff I sold you are EP82 components, that were fitted on my Cynos (Import Paseo)...only alteration was filling the strut tower bolt holes slightly, but that's just cause of the angle you had to slip the mounts in. Seat rails, as Ollie said, no

The Cynos B Turbo...or Asshat as I like to call it

Cheers Gaz ;) Anyway, Another update: With the much appreciated help of C3dpo (Dean), I got my JIC Coilovers installed...sorry for the lack of pictures, will try get more. Verdict - they're stiff...very stiff, but a better compromise than the KYB SS Shocks & RS*R Springs - they were mismatched in my eyes, the shocks were just too hard for the Soft RS*R Springs, they were far too high in Rebound/Bound for the springs, so it just jerked everywhere, the JIC's are much better controlled, they are stiffer but they jerk much less, the rebound is much less pronounced as the springs are of obviously a much higher spring rate...and roll is reduced too, great compromise Had a scare as the damper shaft bolts weren't tightened, so had a noisy ride back from Dean's house Though my steering is stupidly light now, thinking maybe my track rod ends are going? Or Anti-roll bar bushes or something or other...as there's a clunking that developed in France that happens on low speed turns and under acceleration... -
Ummm, I don't think so....2nd time you've been fooled....don't even make half that, 330lb/ft. If a 6.0L Twin Turbo V12 from Mercedes is "limited" to around 869lb/ft, I doubt a 1.9L Turbo Diesel from Vauxhall would make 700lb/ft

Hehe, thanks all - all drinks on me, just send me your bar tabs ;)

Yet another thread to remind me of my balding and whiteing hair ;) Hehe, thanks chaps

Will search for you - the only car that has "Adjustable Power" are the BMW M5 & M6...all the other cars with Sport Buttons just sharpen throttle/engine response, steering response, electric damper response, and if turbocharged usually, overboost it temporarily for some extra torque in short bursts
-
I'm sorry to say that the Sport button DOESN'T raise power...at all...it just quickens throttle and engine response...and it may provide on overboost facility for more TORQUE for a few seconds. Quick nonetheless

saw a black quadlight at Redhill earlier on ;) Damn, he must travel ;)

Cheers Enzo, not a problem...you should've seen the road back, all country roads...amazing, hills everywhere, and the roads resembled miniature Alpine roads in bits. Well first off, we went by Ferry, and from the Port Le Mans is a good 250 or so miles away, so it'd take around 4-6 hours depending on stops. All in all, more than expected, mind you I didn't pay for my ferry/Camping tickets (mum did, around £80-£90 for both), I used up £206 that I had changed to Euros and that was literally, Fuel, Tolls and Food plus another £10 for petrol, but I have a bigger petrol tank than y'all so you'll use more petrol (managed to do from Le Mans to my house in Surrey on a SINGLE tank). You also have to figure in camping equipment if you don't have it...otherwise, it's reasonable considering that's a full week
