Don't discount the other brands though dude. Check out the Drift HD range on www.actioncameras.co.uk I use the HD Ghost on my bike and it's a superb bit of kit, a lot of bike guys prefer then cause they're more aerodymanic. Have WiFi, an iOS app, waterproof straight out of the box..

HKS Hi Silent Power - Not loud enough?
smithyithy replied to Zeldoz's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Who needs a loud exhaust when you've got the sound of a turbo sucking in great lumps of air?! Overly loud exhausts are for the N/A boys *cough*Civic*cough* -
On this topic, do people ever make their own kits, ie. with a universal core from eBay for example, then universal piping and decent joinings and clamps like Samco. I'm only guessing but this shouldn't cost any more, or as much, as one of the well-known brands, and you could build it perfectly around your car.. This is something I may do when I come to get an FMIC actually..

Someone should wire a hidden message in LED's like 'follow me for bum fun' on the EP82 rear strip section, have a switch like this to turn it on, and don't tell the new buyer when you sell it

Single DIN stereo / tray etc.. SWAP for my Double DIN?
smithyithy replied to smithyithy's topic in Wanted
If you're free on the Saturday dude we could always meet and see if it'd be an easy swap? @ dangeestarlet: cheers dude, that makes things clearer! -
Sounds about right! I couldn't afford it at 21, he was younger than me IIRC. At least it ended up in good hands though, chuffed with what you've done with it, I was gutted when I had to sell her. Hopefully I'll get to see it at some point next year eh? Oh, and I spent bloody ages cleaning it in the month or 2 I owned it lol.. clay bar, machine polish, engine bay etc, and that was over Christmas haha, I'm a bit OCD with it, the one I've just bought is just as clean

Ar. From what I can gather, cause my V has a double-DIN headunit, the plastic strip that once separated the 2 single-DIN's is gone, does that make sense? So, if I want to go back to a single-DIN headunit and a standard cubby slot or one of those triple gauge displays, what are my options? Can I just stack 2 single-DIN units on top of each other in the slot? Is there any kind of adapter or bracket I can fit? Or will I have to find a replacement fascia? And if so, is that an easy swap? Thanks.

Huge metal fan, but that's sometimes a bit too angry to drive safely too lol This song is awesome for a spirited midnight drive though: >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPtW1VxMHds

Well, I need to find the TT first! It's hidden somewhere.. I've also read quite a few posts on various forums about when they're mixed together, the TT unlocks the doors when it's finished.. If it's too much hassle I'll just remove the TT, it's not essential on a standard engine and I'll have a run down if I've been out for a blast in it any time, I do the same with my bike, last mile or 2 before home just keep the revs low and short shift.

Just realised this is my old car!! Saw a video of it on YouTube just and the number plate matches (I won't post it on here though for your own discretion) I didn't put those stickers on however, it was 100% standard when I sold it.. Liam, can you remember who you bought it off? I remember the lad coming with his dad and saying it was his first car!

Single DIN stereo / tray etc.. SWAP for my Double DIN?
smithyithy replied to smithyithy's topic in Wanted
Looks alright that does mate, pretty similar to the one I've got in my Polo, but that's going with the car. I think I'm gonna have a problem with it though, looking at pics of single-DIN dashes, it looks like there's a plastic strip that separates the 2 DINs, which would've been cut out to fit my double.. So I'm not sure how I can go back to having a single HU and a tray or standard storage space below it.. -
I've got a good quote on a fitted one thanks dude, I don't know what places would like fitting a second hand one, and I'm not trying it myself lol.. Just got off the phone with the place though, they said it won't work alongside the turbo timer, meaning I can lock the car, but not arm it until the timer has finished....
-
Funny you say that, I got quotes from the likes of Aviva, Elephant etc, and they were actually more expensive if I did have an alarm / immobiliser than if I didn't! But after being on the phone with Adrian Flux for like 45 minutes, cause of 1 person's error and another rectifying it and trying to help me out etc, I got a good price but it was dependant on having one fitted, so I've gotta. It's for my own peace of mind too in al fairness, you can never be too cautious these days.

smithyithy replied to smithyithy's topic in Wanted
Out of interest, what do you have for a swap? I'm picking the car up from Wakefield on Saturday afternoon if that's any good for you? -
Hi guys, picking up my Glanza Saturday, got my insurance sorted but it's dependant on having a Cat 1 Alarm / Imob system fitted. Most common one I'm finding is the Toad Ai606, £219 fitted which seems good, I've had experience with this system on a friend's Cupra and it's okay. What systems, if any, are you guys running? Any you'd recommend? Anything to consider when fitting one to a Glanza? Ie. I have a built-on turbo timer that may affect it.. I wanted remote start but apparently that removes the Cat 1 certification...

That is effing gorgeous mate! I hate being 'that person', but if you were advertising this next May, I'd be all over it :/ GLWS! -
Sorry to hijack, but I need one too - is there a place to readily get them, like when they're converted when imported?
