I thought we got away with emissions tests? Last time I looked into it, I read that because the the 4EFTE engine wasn't sold in the UK they can only do a base idle test for emissions..

I'll have one blue. Any more preview pics?

Thing is, will a new battery last the winter without much use? I've got my company car now so only use the Glanza on the weekends, and if we get a heavy snow again it might not move for a week or 2.. How can I stop the new battery dying?
-
It did take a few tries to jump it last time, but after that it held charge okay... Every car or bike I have the bloody battery dies
-
It's done this a few times since having my alarm system fitted, though the place that fitted it claim it's a problem with the car and not the alarm, I'm dubious about that.... The car disarms and unlocks fine, lights work etc, but when I turn the ignition key it just makes this rapid clicking noise.. They claim it's cause the battery is old or needs changing, but the engine isn't trying to turn over like it would if the battery was dying, and it's started fine through out the week when I've started it to move it off the drive. It did this the other week and I had to jump start it,

Headlight bulb replacing - Am I being stupid?!
smithyithy replied to smithyithy's topic in Exterior Design
Jeez.. It did not want to budge when I tried! -
Changed my sidelight bulbs in seconds, but the headlight bulbs I can't figure out! It was cold and dark, but I unplugged the 3-pin thing, then couldn't figure out what next.. Don't tell me that rubber boot has to come off?!
-
That'd look much better IMO. Make a false floor and cover it, build a box within the spare wheel well to house the sub, 2 box sections either side of the boot for a pair of amps or just where the rear seat would be; 1 running the sub, another running a set of components in the doors and if you need to, a pair of mid-bass or regular co-axials where the rear bench would be or in the rear door cards. Decent headunit and some sound deadening mat in the right places and you'll have a minimalist looking but great sounding system.

Pothole destroyed one of my tyres, what to do?
smithyithy replied to dan106's topic in Lifestyle General
As above unfortunately, if it's a council road and not a managed area contract road, chanced of a payout are slim to none. In either case you'd have to almost kill yourself to get any compensation, sad isn't it -

Fair play man, should look good with some wide fenders sitting over them
-
For the record I'm not hating dude, just don't want you to get points on your license. Tread outside of arch is flat out illegal.
-
No worries, I'll be getting one of these myself having seen it on Whitestar's car, and as it doesn't require much bumper trimming
-
Too wide IMO, but it's your car so each to his own Couple of points to consider though - Stretched sidewalls, while not technically illegal are a massive grey area at the moment, in fact they have been for ages, but the police are getting more active on them now and using tyre manufacturers guidelines as a base, for example a 195/45 might be stated as fitting up to a 7J, so fitting one to an 8J or 9J, while possible, could be used against you. Secondly, and more importantly, in that rear-on shot, the actual tread protrudes from the arch, which is fully illegal, so make sure you ge
