  1. Fail, but only on minor things. The horn decided to stop working for the test, stage fright I guess. Jiggled the plug a bit and that's sorted. One bulb gone that was working when I check on Thursday so that's Sod's law. And a hole rusted through the sill near the back which I somehow missed, slack because it's about an inch long. So spot of time with the welder, and a trip to halfords for a new bulb and she's sorted. Couldn't be happier right now :)

  2. Cheers guys :) I've just dropped her off so I'll know at 1 how she got on. I'm cautiously optimistic, even if she fails it'll only be on worn bushes etc and I've got a month to sort them out.

Cool project man. That's how I started learning about cars. Bought a glanza rep with the n/a engine and just started doing stuff. Nice cars to work on I think. Good luck mot wise

I love working on her, and I've learned literally everything I know about cars from this engine, this time last year I was hopelessly clueless about everything.

  3. What's the current like on those? It'd be a bit of a convoluted way of doing things but if you ran battery power through a chopper to switch to AC, then through a step up transformer with a 3:1 ratio you could triple the voltage by cutting the current by 2/3.

  4. Fingers crossed mate! Toyotas tend to do well in the rust department mate so fingers crossed for you!! :)

Yeah, she's alright. I live about 400 yards from the sea so every car round here rots pretty quick but I've only got a bit of bubbling round an arch at the moment which I'll get sorted when she's got a clean bill of health. Just want to get it over with haha.

Only seeing this now, been busy with uni exams haha. Mine's going well! Still just waiting on the engine being rebuilt but that should be done soon! thanks for asking :D

I'm so jealous, but Christ knows after all the trouble you've had with your FE you're due for a solid engine.
  5. I'm not sure myself what 2 is for.... all I can think of is you use it when it snows my mini countryman S is semi auto & that has a snow button that sticks it into second gear for the hills when snow is bad.

Take it easy on that gearbox haha.. How you still finding it?

This is spot on, it's for when you need torque over top end like snow and sand.
  6. She's booked in for her MOT on Monday. I've never had a car pass one before, so I'm nervous as hell.

In other news, bought a bay dress up kit from the fine lads at JDM-EP and fit it today, and while I was at it I took a long overdue wire brush to the rocker cover.

Full MOT checks going on tomorrow so I'll probably find a giant rust hole through my rear axle or something equally fatal, news to follow!

  7. Cheers for the answers guys :) was idle curiosity really, I was toying with getting a pillar 2 gauge pod but only have the one gauge to go in (tacho) and what with it being an N/A I genuinely don't need any others. AFR was the only even slightly useful one I could think of.

  8. Benefit of the doubt to you, Kayleigh, so I'm assuming you're not Cole. That said, you're being bleddy aggressive about the whole thing, no? Some 5 members came out immediately to defend Ben and say he's a solid guy but you just keep thinking he was trying to scam you. Isn't it a bit more likely that he sent it and Hermes have lost it? Its not like couriers are renowned for giving a shit about the stuff we give to them.

It's stuff like this that puts people off buying in the first place and it'll kill the marketplace on here eventually.

  9. I think if it was just a case of fucking the car up, then it's your car so whatever. But there's an actual, real risk that it could disintegrate at 50k rpm and turn itself into a claymore detonating under the bonnet. Don't hurt yourself or anyone else just to see if you can pull it off, it's not worth it man.
