I would go for oem mate unless you need a thicker gasket for your build seen people run oem gaskets on forged engines with no issues what so ever

Yeah flat surface is important with these gaskets Going back to oem now will get a much better seal

Looks exactly identical to mine maybe could be like you said might be slightly warped block was flat before fitted so very confused lol heard people have had issues with these in the past something to do with a faulty batch

Block and head was checked and rechecked it was completely flat! Going to get It checked agin now the head is off do not have a clue what could of done this was on low boost was running sweet until it blew

This is what has happened after a week of use head was rebuild skimmed and checked same with the block bolted down with arp head bolts to the right touqe settings arp provided me with every thing was good when driving couple days and all of a sudden i lost compression on cylinder 2 and 3 cracked the engine open to find a piece of the gasket missing between cylinder 2 and 3 any suggesgtions why this might of happend faulty gasket??

Hello mate nice project you got going in terms of intake I haven't seen that done before to an 4efe. I have seen ITBS from a triumph tt600 put on an 5efe engine worked pretty well you can modify the throttle position sensor and everything else from the old intake to fit so you can run it from the ecu but will need to be remaped to get it running to its full potential. Tez.

There's a guy with triumph tt600 ITBS on his 5efte motor think there's a vid of it on YouTube you will have to get the car maped up after you just need to get an adaptor made up

So basically my head gasket went on my gt got the head skimmed block looked fine got an Athena 1.2mm MLS Headgasket with ARP Head bolts my mechanic fitted the head gasket torqued down the head bolts down to the right specifications given by ARP started up fine ran perfect no problems noticed the day after when I drove it the left corner of the head was seeping oil out of the gasket cleaned it up droved it didn't seem to leak any further a week later took it for a steady drive lost compression on cylinder 2 and 3 showing 0 psi on compression test could it be that the head gasket some how has failed between cylinder 2 and 3?
