Anyone got Famous Routes or Connections...
scottyb replied to StarletMad's topic in Lifestyle General
My grandad is also an ex rally driver, 3 times scottish champion in an audi quattro and mk2 escort. Donald Heggie for those wondering. Got an awesome canvas print of him in his quattro on my wall -
I love mine too nearly 3 years on! still pretty much standard though, dying to go td04 but not sure of how safe it is without being forged etc.

Its funny the people that are saying no to finance but yes to credit cards? They're both technically the same! Pay it up with interest. Personally i just try and save for what im after (hence why ive done bugger all to the starlet, it burns a hole in my pocket) My starlet was bought with a loan, thankfully my gran loaned me it but if she hadnt it would have been a bank loan for it. I hateee being in debt though. But id be pretty tempted to go forged etc if it was available on finance tbh, itd take me well over a year at least to get £2k saved with all the other stuff i end up buying etc.

Mk1 JDM Eunos MX5 - Greddy Turbo
scottyb replied to Matt1878's topic in eBay, BidJDM, Yahoo Auction Finds
Ryan & matt, you guys just missed out on a set of them that went for just over £300 on ebay the other day. 16" 4x100 etc. -
Cool cheers! Ill get buying them then! Yea iddy already looked them up for me lol. Infact iddy theres a couple of more things im after, headlight adjusters and remote keyfob if you can? Ill pm you in a bit about them
-
Mine arrived today cheers iddy! One question though, what does everyone use to fit them? My plastic screws from the grill have broken so was going to use a bolt etc to fit it, but realised the metal of the crossbar folds under so you cant get a bolt or anything underneath
-
Yea its ianmcintosh or mcintoshi one of the two. He posted pics of his fd in the dark room a while back Edit - http://www.ukstarletowners.com/index.php?showtopic=53708&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1 There you go
-
this is mine currently
-
Hmm i think you'd be lucky with 20mpg, ive heard alot about awful fuel consumption on them as in less than 15mpg. Although im not sure if there is differences in the fd and fc engines etc.
-
Try idrees? Pretty sure he can get all that kinda stuff. May be whiteline though
-
What kind of car is that?
-
Ill try and remember to take a pic of mine, the white wheels are currently brown and ive had to wipe the rear numberplate clean twice as its been too dirty to read. Hateeee having a dirty car though
-
I drive my V daily and still love it, its pretty much standard so id like more power now, especially after having it nearly 3 years (in april). Although i do keep thinking about new cars, but i dont think i could let the starlet go unless it was for a major change like an S15 or GTR but that wont be for a good few years

According to wikipedia it has some smog reduction thingy The 2004 and newer Matrix and Corolla XRS models were equipped with smog pumps and have an extra hole above each exhaust port in the engine head and manifold where air is injected to achieve complete fuel burning before the exhaust stream reaches the catalyst. All 2ZZ-GE heads from 03/03 onwards carry this modification even if the vehicle does not have the air injection system. So that may reduce emissions, but it'll probably just be free tax rather than no emissions.

Sorry for not replying there! Will cost me more than £50 to paint probably! But i shall keep you in mind, ideally after a black one so i dont have to paint it. Although im also thinking of carbon now haha
-
Ive got a forge one in my garage but the spring in it is pretty loose so has occasionally stuck open. But if you wanted it you could have it cheap.
-
Im not doing it unfortunately as i couldnt grow a tache no matter how long i tried at the moment
-
not too sure on price either, have been offered a freshly painted black bonnet for £150 delivered but still waiting on a reply from him. so id say less than that unless its mint probably.
-
depends on how much you wanted for it?
-
Pm'd you now
-
How much would you be after for the bonnet delivered to scotland then? Is it in good nick?
-
Yea ive already had a look ill probably end up getting them from you, but its the bonnet im really needing first! Lol. Have to wait and see if i can get a black one or if ill have to pay for a respray etc
