Just the red v on there now ends today but they will be more good ones that come up.
-
There is 2 very nice glanza v on Jap auctions at the moment, 40000 & 43000km, grade 4 & grade 4.5 you will not get better than that, go on opjp.co.uk sign up then have a nosey on there auctions, the red v looks lovely. All this time you have been looking you could of had one landed by now.

What's the mileage on this?, Looks very tidy underneath and the bay too. That's a very good price landed, any chance you could brake down all costs that you had to pay? Did you take insurance on it to import?, did the agent in Southampton arrange everything for you or just to clear it at the docks to pick up?. I've heard tradecarview have some hidden costs to pay and this has always put me off but in your case this seems not true.

Not been to view it myself so cannot say if it's too far gone or not, but from his right up on the car It drives very well, engine is a cracker and very sweet, it does not rattle or smoke Chassis and under body is very solid and does not have rust. I would say definitely go and view it though first rather than just put a bid down as it does look a project to get back on the roads.

I bought my Toyota Caldina GT from this guy, Top lad would buy from him again, this could make a nice car for somebody after a bit of TLC. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112039523639

exactly that, I would rather go for a grade 4 low mileage at auction and pay more rather than buy something that could be a right dog, but you never no you could drop lucky and the car is fine. I don't think it's laziness, it's that people don't have any experience on importing car's plus get put off from the horror stories of importing. I find it's mostly first time glanza buyers with no knowledge that buy from UK car dealerships and get ripped off by them, don't get me wrong they have got to make a profit from selling them but the price that they try and sell them at now is ridiculous £500

still bargains out there but they very rarely come up at this price these days, every time I pop on tradecarview there much more than this. And on auctions not many coming through when I look for a nosey. This is why the price has shot up so much I think.

I know where there is a nice v auto going with just 40k on the clock all standard, but it's to much £3500 trader not even offering a full service and cam belt change, for an auto would pay 3 Max for a mint very low miles one and doesn't need a thing doing.

I'm happy it's gone, just to big although it was a very nice motor & would never find anything retro as good as that again. Happy to just get a nice little run around now.
-
A GT would be nice:-) it's just finding a good one that's the problem plus I've been spoilt with owning such a low mileage car.

Pmd you mate.

I fancy getting a mk1 Mazda eunos, can get them cheap as chips, and can only go up in price there becoming a classic. will have to be auto again with the Mrs only drive's an auto.Probs is I don't know much about them apart from they rust. if I go for eunos import I should be ok plus you get LSD with them, one or two on eBay but I'm not convinced on the mileage on them, I have seen some with genuine 100,000 plus on the clock and still look good then there is some on there with 50,000 to 80000 and the leather seats don't look to good, anyway I'm not in a rush. Just having a nosey what's out ther

I was the same with the Caldina, a bit protective over it lol, didn't like getting it dirty always washing it with it being white it would show black rain marks after a week of standing on my drive, didn't like putting the mileage on it, would not have been worth as much if I had. Glad it has gone now, however I said I'm done with messing about with cars but after a week of calming down I might buy a little runner something to fit on the drive with the Mrs car, not getting something as big as that caldina again lol

yea best time to sell a car I think in the summer.
-
Sold, I'm done with cars now for me, no more messing about with import cars, I'm just sticking with the newish family car well 2 years old new when we bought it. Love retro jap cars but I tend to just chuck money at them every time even when it's not needed just on mods. I just need to keep off eBay and auction sites haha. And before anyone asks how much did you get for it, I did OK more than I thought I would. Only up for sale for a few days soon got snapped up.
-
cool, just have watchers on it at the moment so you never know it might still be here for a bit, I'm in no rush to sell.
-
Best car I have ever owned , hope it goes to a good home and gets looked after like i have done.
-
Mrs keeps nagging me to sell :-( .we have a family car so she doesn't see the point in having a weekend car lol that and would like here car back on the drive.

It sounds a tad louder with the two middle mufflers removed, I like a single can too but that one I had fitted was just to loud, not enough meat around the bone, it was 2.5 inlet 3.5 tip 5in wide can, 7 inch can would be more suitable I think, might get another back box made up to flange up then can have a choice of the 2.
-
I have put up a couple of pics in my progress thread mate of the exhaust.
-
Well got my new cat back exhaust system fitted, and I lasted for two days with it being far to loud, it had to much of a deep base sound, it was turning heads and I could see people pulling faces lol was the worst sounding exhaust I have had, so I chopped up my old exhaust and re bucked it in to flange and fit my old back box. The original back box also has a cut out valve just on one tip on the right so that's all back on working, sounds lovely now. Here is a PIC of the new back box that had to go and how it looks now, just need to paint up around the weld around the flange. URL]

It sits very well just the same really, will take a pic tomorrow.
