Many thanks for the info. So basically i can drive it back back the docks with only the chassis number in both windows and no registration. It'll be good because that'll save me around £100 to get it back on a trailer. Can i defo get the car insured with only the chassis number insurance companies have never asked me for this and its always been a registration number. Thanks

Hello all I've been currently looking at a website and been in contact with the guy who works at this company in Japan via email. He tends to get quite a few Glanza's in and gives plenty of information about them with plenty of pictures and any negative points i.e. marks on the bodywork. The main problem is that once i pay him and the car arrives here there is a major dilemma to overcome. Basically as i am not a dealer and will be buying privately. As far as i know when the car comes here i can just get a trailer to bring it back home and leave it in a garage. However the main problem is when your insuring and registering the car as they link with each other. Basically i wont be able to register the car unless i can show the DVLA my insurance documents, and i wont be able to insure the car unless the car is registered and has a number plate on it. So what can be done, basically i can't see any way around it, unless i have traders insurance for just 1 car. Has anybody else been in this situation or would know what i can do to overcome the problem? Thanks

It has done 86,000km which is approx 52,000 miles.

Hello all. I am wanting to check the cambelt on my Glanza but i have a few queries:- I've been told there are 5 x 10mm bolts i need to remove in order to look at the cambelt, however i can only see 2 at the top left and right hand areas of the cambelt cover, where are the others located, diagrams to show would be very much appreciated. How can i get to any awkward bolts and is this something i can do myself? Once i remove the cover, what are the signs i'm looking out for that would be me an idea of how worn the cambelt is and whether or not it will need replacing fairly soon. Will touching the cambelt give me any signs of how worn it is and what sort of a texture im i looking for if it can be done this way. I've never checked a cambelt before as my first and previous car was a Ford and it had a chain instead. Any earlier information would be very much appreciated as i would like to have this checked out this weekend. Many thanks

Hello all. When i got my Glanza, it came with a few stonechips, these are mainly around the front bumper and some of the NSF wing. I presume they probably happened in Japan or whilst being drive all the way up from Southampton to Birmingham. Whats the best solution to get rid of these, my Glanza is a silver one. I've heard you can get some touch up paint, but you have to very careful when applying it, but does it make much of a difference when applied. What would companies such as Chips Away use, (although they are quite expensive and i've been told it could be around £75 a chip). Many thanks

Thanks for the info Its the one in Bradford near Forster Sqaure, thats if you know it. I wouldn't normally go there its just i need go get a cd player and they have fairly decent Kenwood one in for £59.99

Hello all Im wanting to change the cassette headunit in the Glanza to a CD one, however i've been told in order to do this i'll need some additional plug(s). Is this true, where can i get these plugs from as Halford havn't got a clue and they said you can't just put another headunit in there. It seems like the one in the Glanza has already been changed as it is a Pioneer cassette headunit. (I don't know what the standard stereo looks like) Any views very much appreciated. Many thanks

Defo right there, the car behind you does catch up quite quickly especially if hes trying to or keeping up with you.

Hello all My Glanza has a casette stereo installed and i really want to change it over asap as i've had enough of listening to cassettes such as Hits 94, Dance Energy 95 etc etc, whilst the more up to date CD collection gathers dust at home. Just wondering if anyone can recommend me a decent cheap CD Headunit, how much it would and where can i get it from. I dont want to place an online order and just want to pop into an outlet pay for it and pick it up. I've seen a JVC in Argos for £49.99 but the RMS on it is poor (4 x 19rms) Any recommendations very much appreciated.

I went into Halfords yesterday in order to purchase some Gearbox Oil for the Glanza, however after the Supervisor consulted the Assistant Manager I was told that i needed to go to Japanese Car specialist in order to get some gearbox oil for the Glanza. I thought Halfords would have had something in i can use. I had a look around and they mainly had their own brand and some Castrol. It was sold in 1 litre bottles and price ranged from £7.99 - £10.99. I've been told that the Glanza takes just over 2 litres when fully replaced. Can you please advise on where you get your oil from, which one do you use exactly, and how much it costs? Many thanks

Thanks for all the replies It doesn't bother me that much, just takes that bit more time than changing into other gears.

Hello all I've been driving my Glanza for about 2 weeks now, one thing i've noticed is that when going into second gear especially from first to second its fairly crunchy. All the other gears are fine. I find it a bit inconvenient and have not come across this problem in any cars i've had before. I've heard this is quite a common problem on Glanza's as others have also had the same problem. The only way i find its a bit better is by changing the gear fairly slowly. What is the best solution for overcoming this problem. I've been told that changing the gearbox oil may improve the situation and temporarily. Is there any specific gearbox oil i use. I thought this would have been done as when i purchased the car it had a full service in Japan before being sent here. Will it get any worse if i dont do anything about it i.e. gearbox fully break down and replacement required. Let me know what you think? Many thanks

I know it may be a bit of a stupid question, but what is the 1st and 2nd gear boost restricted to and what does this change to after the 1st and 2nd gears are de-restricted. Thanks
-
What will be the actaul difference in terms of running Hi Boost in 1st and 2nd and Hi Boost in 1st and 2nd gear de-restricted. How will i know the difference? what are the signs if its defo worked?
-
I've just given this a go but the hoses wont come off, i guess i might need some pliers. Does this just make a difference to how the car drives in Hi Boost or both Lo and Hi Boost. I'm a bit confused as my car kicks in the boost in second gear on Lo Boost anyway. Thanks
-
Hi mate thanks for the info v much appreciated I ran in Lo as i just been taking it work and back, its busy as i drive during peak times and plsu i go past quite a few cameras and a couple of police stations. I dont know if this is true but i've heard ifyou drive the car is in Hi boost it is more economical on fuel than Lo Boost as the engine isn't working as hard??? In terms of bypassing the boost restriction, how long will this job take to do, will i need to buy any parts and would a lot of garages be able to do it, or will i need to take it a specialised garage. It sounds good but my insurance company may not be happy about it as its insured as standard Glanza performance (133bhp). Many thanks

Hello all, i'd thought i'd put my query in this section as it was originally in the General section but didn't have much response. I've now been driving my Glanza for about 2 weeks and its mainly been too work and back so its during the peak time. When i get the chance too i do kick the turbo in but its not that often. I've only ran it on Lo boost at moment. However i'm a bit concerned about the Turbo and i have a few queries. * The 3 (green) lights on the rev meter, i presume tell you what psi your turbo is running. Sometimes the first light comes on at 2 revs, however the light goes off at 3 revs and its just all random??? I took it to 5 revs and the first 2 lights came on. When does the third light come on, Is this normal? * When does the turbo actually kick in interms of how many revs should i be hitting for each of the 3 lights. * Is there any difference to when driving in Hi boost in relation to the lights coming on the rev metre? I've tried to do a bit of research on this by looking at Glanza rev and speed metres on Youtube. I find some of them are similar to mine whereas others will have their turbo lights on all the way as soon as they go over 3 revs. Any views of information would be very much appreciated.

What are the signs that the suspension bushes have gone at the bootom and also the shocks are leaking, what will be leaking from them, wont it be visible where i park and i can check for any leaks the next day? I thought it wouldn't be any of these items as won't they normall come up in the MOT and that was done only 1 month ago and there wre no advisories in the MOT, all that needed replacing was a bulb and a front tyre. I've only had the car just over a week and it looks like its already causing problems

I've had my Glanza for approx 1 and a half week now, when i go to work and back there is a road which has a few small humps on, i do however slow down go over them slowly. My Glanza is fully standard and no modification what so ever, but when i do go over the bumps, it just seems rather noisy from the back, i was concerned there may be something wrong with the suspension, i've checked it and the suspension seems ok (got out of the car and pushed down on the rear suspension to make sure its not very bouncy) Ist this supposed to be normal or could there be something wrong, i used to take the same journey in my previous car (Ford Fiesta mark 3) and that was fine. The car still has 11 months MOT on it and didn't have any problems with the suspension when it was tested. Any views most appreciated. Thanks

70 miles with the orange light on constantly???? From what i've been told it wont do more than 20 miles, plus if it did do 70 miles with the orange light on surely the petrol needle would go way below the Empty line.
