  1. hi mate thanks for the reply I'm going to take it to a garage soon and have it measured. The other thing is that if the battery is overcharged then it would blow fuses and i've never had a blown fuse.
  2. Hello all I know i've talked about ths before in a previous thread but the problem seems to be going on and on with no solution. My Kenwood head unit is going into protection mode after 20 minutes and its been tested by another ICE retailer on the workbench the same is happening to them. I've taken it back to where i got it from and they are sending it back to Kenwood to get it repaired again. However the ICE retailer that tested it is blaming my car for the problem in a way. The reason for this being that 3 weeks ago i had my clutch changed. Due to the clutch taking around 4 hours to chang
  3. Thanks for all the replies Anyone have a pic of the rear of a glanza minus the bumper. Just wondering how it would look? Thanks
  4. Hello all I know its a bit of a stupid question, but is it ok to drive a car without a rear bumper. I do have the rear bumper but due to some hairline cracks would like to get it in for a respray. However i am very reluntant to leave my car a bodyshop for a couple of days. Therefore was wondering if i take it to the bodyshop, they can take the bumper off and i'll take the car back home and then bring it back once the bumper has been resprayed. Although i may need to take the car to work and back which is 10 miles each way. However on the same topic how long would a respray take, i've been to
  5. Hello all Recently someone has decided to hit the back of bumper (most likely someone in the street) and not inform me of this. I have managed to find this out as there as hairline cracks on the top of my bumper, there is about 5 of them around 18 inches each. When i have a feel of them they don't feel like they are cracks and the paint is smooth. Is there anything i could do to get rid of them or is it a full bumper repaint job. The bumper is white and in mint condition apart from these hairline marks with no other marks or chips on it. I don't really want to replace the bumper which is a
  6. I've just rang them and the guy said to send it in. However he is saying that even though there may not be a fault on wiring, he mentioned that my speakers could be fault as there may be too bassy (I don't increase the bass settings on the headunit). I only have standard front speakers and 6x9 in the back. There are no amplifiers or subs. The head unit should be able to easily handle the speakers in my car.
  7. hi mate many thanks for providing the link with the number. I'll give them a ring in a bit thanks
  8. Hi mate, hows the Glanza V going (you viewed my standard Glanza V when i was selling it back in 2009) I'm trying to get a number of them as there are many, if you happen to know the number please do supply it. Thanks
  9. hi mate is there a number of them? i've looked in the manual and there doesn't seem to be anything in that. Also on the Kenwood website it would be one of many numbers and i don't know where it was sent back to originally to get repaired? thanks
  10. Hello all Just to quickly recap, i purchased a Kenwood head unit back in August, had it installed and it kept going into protect mode. I took it back to the retailer they sent it back to Kenwood and they repaired it, the element that handles the voltage was faulty. However since last week the same problem has started again, It goes into protect model after 20-21 minutes of the engine running. I have telephoned the retailer again to say the same problem has come up again and he is trying to fob me off saying that there is something wrong with the car and that it is an import, so it's my car a
  11. hi mate My problem is kinda similar to yours and i've posted a separate thread about it. Mine seems to go into protect mode after around 30 minutes of driving (meaning there is loose connection somewhere) I've checked it all out and it's all fine so i don't know what the problem is Once the protect thing happens i also lose my memory settings.
  12. hi mate i'll have to take it back to the outlet i got it from first and they send it back to Kenwood however they are funny with it as last time they were blaming my car for making the head unit faulty and they said they wont send it back again if it becomes fault Also as an update the head unit is now constantly in protect mode so it won't play anything at all, but it does power up. thanks
  13. hi mate It's not overheating now, as i said it used to get very hot before on the top of the headunit but this time when it goes into protect mode, i've touched it and it seems like warm rather than very hot. As i said before it was fine before i had the clutch fitted. thanks
  14. hi mate thanks for the reply the head unit was earthed fine as i've not had any other problems with it since Kenwood fixed it due to an overheating issue. If the gearbox earth was not put back on then surely the head unit wouldn't work at all where was at the moment it runs for 30 minutes then goes into protect mode. What other parts on the car will the gearbox earth have an effect on if it's not been done? thanks ady
  15. Apologies if this is in the wrong section. Hello all I recently had a new clutch fitted on my car and have since found that after 30 minutes of driving i find that the Kenwood head unit goes into protect mode (meaning that there is a loose connection with regards to the stereo wiring but i've checked it all and there isn't). The head unit had this problem originally back in August but it was repaired by Kenwood and has worked fine since. At the time it was overheating as i could tell when i touched the top of the head unit it was very hot. It seems like what is happening this time is that
  16. Are these Eastern block migrants who bring over their cars to the UK, even register them in the UK. If they don't most of them could easily be driving around without insurance, tax and MOT. Most of them i see are a lot of sh*ters anyway, probs won't get more than a few hundred quid for them here.
  17. Oh no This was my car previously, defo get it repaired, i'm sure if you put up an ad in the wanted section and check the parts for sale section on a daily basis you should be able to get the parts needed to repair. From the pic it looks like you would just need a bonnet and bumper. The bumper could possibly just be resprayed if its not cracked. What happened to the Glanza badge on the front? Its defo too good to go to salvage and just like its been faultless for you it also never let me down. Shouldn't the pizza van driver pay up for it as it was his fault?
  18. They are a group 17 (was told this by a number of companies that insure japanese imports)
  19. hi mate i've got my own place in a better postcode area but i've let it out at moment, i've been told by various people to insure it on the house i've let out but its a big risk in case anything happens. That Supra quote will come down to around £950.
  20. Has to be best quote of the year and i'm very surprised as to how you got it so low, You sure they not missed a 0 of the end price your paying. I just got a quote of Bradford and Bingley for myself (30 year old) and i've got 9 years no claims, no points, no accidents but very bad postcode area I got fully comprehensive quotes on the following completely standard cars:- Glanza V Turbo - £1051. Non Turbo Manual Supra - £3352 (absolute shocker and i was thinking of buying one of these next). Fiat Cinqucento (v low insurance group) - £652 Seems like i have to pay aro
  21. I thought the seller had a few viewings taking place on this past weekend. Best to check if its sold or not, if its not sold and viewings have taking place then could be something up with it.
  22. hi mate i've sent you a pm Thanks
  23. His name - Hamza Moti Kinda sounds African Also why is he selling the car and the Mods on the car once again seem to show a lady owner view in Japan, unless he put them on when the car came here.
  24. I'll agree to the point you've made regarding the back box.
  25. hi mate how you doing Mine is still going, the one you viewed last Saturday (completely standard one) Thanks Ady
