  1. NO, the rear is a solid axle, and the only adjustment you can do is with the panhard rod... do a search, im sure i have covered this before... Ivan
  2. Rear camber is fixed when it comes to starlets and it cant be changed... Ivan
  3. Are aftermarket bushes made of nolathane or polyurethane? either way they are very tough and have different flex ratings depending on which component they are on... The best brand to use is Super-Pro Bushes, whiteline get all their bushes from them except get it in yellow instead of blue. As enzo said, get the anti lift kit/castor kit, its a must... so is the rear sway bar... Regards, Ivan
  4. Enzo, you are right about the anti-lift kit...however i found the rear swaybar to be slightly more useful as a first upgrade... (note the shocks were the first on my list cause genearlly people want to lower their car before they do anything else - looks wise so thats why it came in first). I will be writing up a starlet specific article about suspension and so forth. i would suggest bracings as the amount the starlet chassis flexes is not funny Its nice to have a predictable corner and the braces work well Regards, Ivan
  5. Definately YES! So do the ep71 to ep82/91 aparts from the top plates at the front... they differ
  6. Providing your lowering your cars with lowered springs, regardless of who makes it, you should upgrade your shocks as the new shocks are actually shorter (should be anyways) and will give you the travel that you need with the new springs. As for what to modify for handling reasons, i would go the following route: 1. struts - shocks and springs/coilovers + a panhard rod to centre the rear axle 2. Rear sway bar from whiteline 3. Anti-lift/caster kit from whiteline 4. Strut braces - front, rear and lower controller arm (whiteline supply these, you can use the ep82 stock one on the ep91 aswell) 5

  10. Ill do one for you in the next couple of weeks... i will be putting in my new hot bits coilovers in Ivan
  11. If you think you will be keeping the car for quite a while and love startlets, i would say go the 5efhe, as you can easily turbo them without too many hassles. Alternativly you could get a turbo kit to go onto your engine, or the inbetween, get a glanza front cut and bolt in the engine and wiring and away you go. I would go the glanza personally and then put a bigger turbo later if you have to. Alternativly, you could do the following, depending how much it costs over there to do it. port-polish the head increase your rpm by changing the computer put 5efhe cams in cold air induction raise c
  12. all 4e engines are free-spinning. In saying that, i believe 5e, and possibly 2e and 3e are aswell but i cant confirm it for certian. Ivan
  13. Just so you know, running 20psi on a standard 4EFE is not safe. The internals were not built for it and its only a matter of time before it breaks. Also i do not believe he drives it day in and day out at 20psi as he has mentioned, i think he told a little fib about that as he clearly stated that the fuel started breaking at around 17psi. Go figure. Also take not of what you want the car for, would you rather high HP or have better midrange and bottom end? I am in no means saying that it cant make 200hp, cause it obviously can, but you have to look at the reliability and of the car which to m
  14. Yes, they are. If you go timing belts, you can go aftermarket uprated, or genuine toyota, or aftermarket cheap stuff. If you can get the Toyota one, they are the best, otherwise a cheap aftermarket one. The engine is freespinning meaning that no damage will be caused to the valves or the head if the timing belt snaps. Regards, Ivan
  15. Just on that note, the stock one will fit but you need to move the fuel filter lower to clear the bar, will take you about 20 minutes to complete. Regards, Ivan
  16. yes, you can use the 4efte one, but they are hard to source from what i can tell. I will have one soon so will see how it goes. Ivan
