  1. So love this build probly one of the best starlet setups I've seen. Everything complements the other plus working within engine power tolerance and the design utilises every power gain possible very efficient. So so impressive this.

What make is this manifold, and do they do a tdo4 fitment do you know??. I want one.

I'm going for these tyres also if you can control wheel slip with that turbo and the same gearbox then I should be fine.

Do you have a Dyno graph if possible. You can message it to me I'll keep it to my self. What cams are you running haha, so so many questions for you haha. I can see you know what you are doing.

  2. Any ideas.

I'm after a front brake conversion, tell me what you know.

I'm not after dual action calipers. singal action sliding calipers will do for the weight and target speeds I'm going for, but preferably twin pots so as to more evenly spread the braking force across the disc. Plus I'm wanting to keep rotational anertia to a minimal so only slightly bigger brake discs if possible or the same diameter would be amazing.

I'm also after a brake bias valve so as I can remove the crappy Toyota pressure bias valve. I'm sick of how loose the rear end feels in the corners and how quick the fronts lock up it's all over wrong I need more in corner control. So what setups are out there???.

I was out at Toyota breakers yesterday and I've found avencise twin pot calipers on bigger Corolla pad carriers and pads and MR2 MK1 discs.

Also found a mitsubishi carisma bigger master cylinder on line to reduce pedal travel\stroke now I'm using larger callipers.

But I'm interested in what everyone else has or knows about. So post up what you know.

  3. Very nice video. I'm looking for a Corolla manifold atm. I've got 100quid here waiting if you know where 1 can be found.

Also the 4efte engine has a higher lift inlet cam for better top end rpm torque\pull.

If you fancy putting up a how to video on that. Really good combo with this manifold and from what I gather no 1 knows about it. It's defo different I've got both here I can send you a picture of the difference and you do not need to remove the cam belt as the cams are gear driven.

Also the original paseo thermostat is 76deg better for power. You have to get this from Toyota as most on line are 98deg. There is a better 62deg from tuning developments but this will be bad for in cab heating and window defrosting

  4. Waw you know your stuff. Yeh I was going to go bigger calipers and I was wondering if there was a larger master cylinder for better delivery volumes.

Them front calipers do look huge so I'd say you'll  be ok. Minimum pedal travel is what you want. It's just a case of setting the pedal to cylinder position correct which does take abit of patients and very slowly adjusting the cylinder position. To much and brakes come on to little and the front to rear bias is off this feels horrible, with these using a pressure sensing bias valve to activate the rear brakes.

I'll get 1 bought. I'm looking for front brake conversion now.

With you running methanol and external gate you should be fine to push the boost pressures.

  5. If you leave the standard actuator on the turbo and just disconnect the air line to it.

This will keep the wastegate port penny closed.

If you are not using the turbo compressor housing singal pipe (this is the pipe that goes to the actuator) then blank it off.

  6. I've got to say there's some fantastic builds on here and alot of well designed setups. There's more 6 speed users than I expected and I've found a gttmk1 using the c160 and hos design\setup has showed me the amount of diverse products available for these cars ( ram's horn topmounted turbo manifolds).

One of the things I'm looking to achieve is the very modern maximum proformance over efficiency. For the engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, suspension, steering and body design.

I'd like to hear off as many of you as possible to gather as much information as possible about setups, hp and mpg. Basically anything you noticed good or bad as you've been building.

Message me the information please if possible I'll keep it confidential.

I'm looking forward to hearing from and speaking to as many of you as possible.

  7. Great work and setup this. Many none starlet parts. I've got a feeling there's so much more going on here than you have put up🧐

This thing on methanol will be insane. What boost pressure are you hoping for. I bet the power hits hard and fast. As I look around the engine I find myself nodding.

I can't find any info on this hyb  turbo. Very impressive. I need a favourite button to press.

Last question. What master cylinder is that.

  8. Getin there, happy days

And from what I can find the difference in ignition timing is on the cam timing marks the 5e position makes up for the stroke difference on cam timing and ignition timing.

Also the 5efe standard ECU is not compatable with the 4efte because of wired hardware difference mainly the distributor they also have a factory immobiliser on them (you need the lock set)

I've just got a 5efe block and crank for 75quid haha. And a mega squirt V3 standalone ECU. Can't wait.

  9. The other rout is use a 5efe toyota ecu. With a piggy back but be warned using a piggy back ecu and taking the power gains from standard above around 40% is asking for problems.

The fact is you are using the standard Toyota map and altering (tricking) parameters. The more you trick and hp you gain the less likely the ecu will spot and warn you about faults and dangers is the system. Unit its to late. Things like seasonal temperature and altitude change the most common area of issue
