  1. I can assure you it isnt the comp wheel hitting the inside of the turbine. If it were it wouldnt be there now, the comp wheel would be abbliterated. After 1.5 years of running it, it is all to do with the flow of the turbo suited to the engine size, ie the turbo is to big.
  2. This is the exact problem WEPR had with the first batch of hybrid turbos. Was rather annoying, but it pulled througn it after a bit
  3. I would also garantee the standard weight of the GT is heavier than 860 kg. Yes it states a kerb weight of 860, but add the weight of fuel and driver, and the weight of new manifolds etc. My own car came in at 905 kg, full trim including spare wheels etc amd 3/4 tank of juce, add me into it and it was 979 kg. Great idea though, ill have a figure to ponder over after sunday.
  4. Gary, Ye cant skim a head on a lathe.... a Mill you can If you wanted to know how much to skim the head, use plasticine on the top of the piston, then put the head back on, rotate the cam so the valves leave an indication on the putty. Slice the putty through the indication and take a measurement if the gap between the piston top and the valve. Obviously you cant take the maximum from it, but it will give you an ididcation of how much you can take off safely. Rory
  5. Jesus, thats a hell of a mess. I know what your going through, and it isnt pleasant at all. Get well soon buddy.
  6. Idrees, An SAFC will not run a ITB setp at all. You would need a minimum of a piggyback setup of somekind. Pound for pound, 4efte all the way. Unless you forge the 5e and turbo it. Rory
  7. Stadard sensor size is 1/8 BSPT. Its NOT 1/8NPT as its a diffirent pitch.
  8. Yes it will move slightly, as it is directly linked to your hub. Whip the springs off and give the seat a good grease, and make sure the springs are seated properly.
  9. Power will normally drop off as the revs rise. As for having less power than torque. NOthing to worry about. But to answer you initial Q, if the mani was cracked, you would lose out all across the rev range, not just peak power. From what im reading, your car seem to be just fine, just the little turbo that cant keep up the pressure.
  10. Ive replyed to your PM. As for over hauling the ignition system, put new parts in there, Plugs, leads, Dizzy cap and Rotor arm. Its a possibility the standard actuator diagphram is ripped, but im positive you have a burst joiner somwhere. Take them all off, and check for tears.
  11. Did you make sure that there were no rips in the joiners? Over haul the ignition system, just for peace of mind. Check the shaft play in the turbo, if its excessive then this could be the case. If not, then it has to be something simple, like a tear in the vacume lines somewhere. What actuator are you running?
  12. I cant understand why you want to meet at knockhill in February? It will be freezing cold, likr the rest of the year at Knockhill. Hold off another month, and make it worth while, instead of sitting about freezing to death.
  13. Nikki, If you do have a sore kneck, get yourself to the Doctor, and let them have a look over you. Because if you have to claim against his insurance, the doctors line will always help in a pay out. (A good one at that) All the best Rory
  14. Davie, I hope your getting something from doing all that? Rory
  15. Niks, The rear quarter panel will pop out with relative ease. Only thing i would be woried about is the creases in the door shut area. If you get a good bodyshop, they should manage it no problem. As for the door, might aswell get another to save time, and for ease. As for the accident, sorry to hear, at least you are ok though. Sore neck? Rory
  16. Forecast for tomorow - Rain and Sleet - Max of 5degs. Ill see what the weather is here like first.. For anyone that hasnt been to Knockhill at this time of year, take plenty clothes, its fecking freezing there.
  17. Your the lad that works in Struans? And yep i know who you are, Red Astra, with white wheels?
  18. Gary, Its a shame, but beggers cant be choosers. I can assure you it will be at Knockhill a few times this coming year though. Rory
  19. Nice one Aaron. Will be good to have another EP out and about in the area once more! Rory
  20. Ill not be down. Wheels are still away, so its hard to go anywhere, also the MOT is out. :surrender: Who is going on track, or is it just a gathering?
  21. N12 ORY and N12 ORE Name is Rory Napier 1st plate is obvious, and the second is Rore, which alot of people call me.
  22. Ive always wanted to go to Applecross, but not at this time of year. Roads can be daft at this time of year. 25th in dundee i could manage, depends on the Ep going through and MOT, if it appears or not.
  23. Set a location and date, and ill see how the starlet is looking for a trundle out. Rory
