more updates. excuse pic quality so whilst i was building the engine i bought a set of tein coilovers off a mate, that had seen better days tbh but worked fine with no leaks etc, so took them all apart and made a new locking collar on the lathe at work as 1 of them was missing, i also sandblasted them bare and repainted them and sent the springs off for zinc plating and powdercoated, also put some poly bush bump stops on them!! dont have any before pictures. poly bushes loved the tein green so did a few lil bits in the bay etc. fitted rear boot struts ftw sorry about picture q

Dean @RW-Developments replied to gingdust's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
ive got a hks ssqv old style and the adjusting screw didnd do a thing, what i did is take it apart which is simple and stretch the spring about 10-15 mm and on the ct9 sounds mental chatters like mad with the high pitch tssshhh at the end, unfortunatly it doesnt chatter on the td04 but ct9 sonds mental!! -

small update well from a while back will gt more pics up tmoz! well first of all the starlet was off the road for 10 months so decided to get it back on the road! so took engine out ready for a small rebuild, loaded the hyundai up lol then re build, head skimmed, block skimmed, re shimmed, honed, chemically cleaned etc found out id cracked 3 pistons so ian aka dub7 to the rescue with gt turbo rods and pistons also put new toyota piston rings on with new head gasket, head bolts etc once engine was all back together i installed my trd clutch which ive had sitting here for over a year

nice price but over the last 2 years these cars have become increasingly popular so alot more insurers will cover the glanzas now where as there was a very limited amount of insurers 2 years ago, the gt turbo on the other hand has more insurers that will cover them

How To Disassemble Rear Drums, Help Please
Dean @RW-Developments replied to rpsmith79's topic in Braking
ive taken them apart afew times jack it up put on acel stands! etc take the handbrake off and the front part just prizes off but its a rite pain in the arse, i usually use a flat headed screw driver to stick in the gap to slide it off, the pads will still usually grab the drum even with the handbrake off. -
good man there was a point when i thought id never get a decent quote but tbh at 19 i was getting laughed at down the phone trying to insure turbod starlets etc age and location plays a big part, good luck, hopefully see you soon for anothe starlet outing lol

not been funny mate but how i read it was he went to work insured then un- insured his car over the phone because they wouldnt cover the intercooler, the way it was put across was like hed just cancelled it there and then which i thought was pretty "mad" being so its hes daily driver and at 19 theres not exactly the biggest list in the world of insurers that will insure you" even on a standard glanza" i clearly did not advise him to not declare modifications i was just stating to think ahead of the situation so that over the phone they dont think you have modifications on the car that they d

im with adrian flux insured as conversion everthink declared £956 fully comp with all the extras 2 years ncb, josh i think your mad for canceling you should have phoned them and said you was thinking of getting a fmic that way if they dont allow it you say over the phone oh well il hav to wait lol then keep it on or take it off lol.

i had some funny issues with my car abit different but neways just have a play about with your timing from the distributor, the 2 bolts that hold the distributor on simply mark around the bolts so you know where the dizzy was origionaly at, then move it around and see if it makes any difference as the dizzy can cause all sorts of problems. i also have a problem with my idle as the stupid thing wont idle below 2k also check that no vaccum pipes are split or kinked? if all else failes buy a 4efte and drop it in Dean
