Dean @RW-Developments replied to ste91's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
lol^^ i have to agree with phil though the conversion is pretty straight foward with the right preperation and knowlege! and to be honest it can be done really cheep i bet if phil didnt buy the after market intercoler etc and kept the standard parts on it would easily be more like 1k or below, its always good to put uprated parts on when the engines out. and about the insurance my insurance dropped by around £900 off my n/a when i got my 1 year ncb and insured it as a conversion so was well happy, also a converted n/a is cheeper to insure than a glanza because they basically conbine t -

People Who Have Done 4efte Conversions...
Dean @RW-Developments replied to ste91's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
i couldnt care less to be honest i have front gt brakes and callipers so the fronts are uprated, nd have grooves in the drums lol i have no intentions on uprating the rear drums untill i hit 250bhp then uprate them! -

Dean @RW-Developments replied to ste91's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
i have to disagree there about the brakes because i spoke to mr burwash about uprating them when i did the engine conversion and he said theres no point with such little braking going to the back plus he said that drums were alot more adjustable and can easily be made sharper than rear discs, because i have rear drums still doesnt mean im a pikey though! -

Dean @RW-Developments replied to ste91's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
the conversion is definatly alot of fun and well worth it in my eyes, for the money ive spent i could of easily went and bought a glanza but why not build 1 thats unique. plus its so much more fun! -

Possible Cracked Head Gasket?
Dean @RW-Developments replied to briggers's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
i just had the same problem last week! replace the thermostat first i paid £10 could be an eas fix but if you have you water preasurising through the radiator then it could be a split in the head gasket betwen one of the cylinders and water chambers! -
if yours is 1999 model you should have the bigger brake setup? check the diameter of you standard discs
