Thanks for the support guys Sometimes I have to pinch myself that Ive gone this far and am almost there with the car and the engine. The scary thing is I could have improved on so many things and taken her to different places for work but Im still very pleased with progress so far. Not long now. Joz -

Cheers lads Will need a change of location soon for photos but theres nothing like the good ol' countryside lol. Just waiting for the exhaust and lsd to arrive then I can get the engine and drivetrain sorted. I dont fancy the new engine mated to the powerflow because it would just be cack lol. Thanks for viewing. Joz -

Now that would be telling I collected the head today personally, the guy deals a lot with all the local rally cars etc so really knows his stuff, to say I was enlightened and educated in 10 mins is an understatement Here's some photos of what I had done. Reshim - Had all the shim buckets reshimmed so cost me a lil more but expected for a good job. I also took the liberty to hook the itbs onto the head to see how the fit was. The runners seem a bit long so will have to be modded seeing as space is limited especially if I want velocity stacks and maybe an airbox. These are DIY remember Bear in mind the itbs are 80% complete so I wont be answering any Qs about them as I havent refined them myself yet and are not complete, soon tho. More intimate head photos coming soon... Im not in a rush to get these up and running as the winter months are upon us, and not much track action til spring. However I will make sure the 5EFHE itself is running and emanage ultimate base tuned. Also xmas is defi gonna be sexy time :D If you think its all good news for me think again, Ive been stuffed for £50 import tax on the flywheel lol, mofos. I will drive on tho regardless Peace Joz -
Let us know how you get on mate. Joz

Get the alignment done first mate and give them some time so u can get used to them. At least give them the doubt that they need setting up, an adjustable panhard would do well too. It can be a shock jumping from stock to coilys, they aint for the faint hearted or casual driver. Sacrifice comfort for handling? You bet. Plus to get the best out of them, they need to be pushed. I wont answer that if you mean the whole engine build, but for the actual reshim job he initially said £50, but with the added time etc around £70-£80 which is more than fair enough. Joz -
Thanks again man! I had better learn the language and move over lol. Peace Joz

As Keirz said, dont put all your eggs into the basket of the next chick who comes along. Enjoy life and your youth man. Peace Joz

Wallace you dont understand how much your photos have enlightened me mate. Very well taken too, did you use an SLR throughout? If I can take any snaps half as good when I go I will be well happy lol. Thanks very much for sharing with us. You really are the man!! Joz

Sure will Si. Just got off the phone and my head will be ready tonight. But because I dont wanna rush around I'll just collect it tomorrow. He said it was time consuming because each clearance has to be measured individually for each shim. He also said he does it his way to make sure everything is perfect. The cams were also a bit tight so he machined a bit off some of the cam retainers. All thats going through my mind is "sexy time, sexy time" :D Joz -
This is a tough one to answer Gal. All I could recommend is the same steps that the other enthusiastic 4EFE owners have taken and maybe the ignition timing advance (only if you know what you are doing) as essentially they are both very much the same engine bar the taller engine block, a few sensors, different ecu and different compression ratio. It isnt really anything too special but the extra 15bhp and added torque is refreshing. I can't think of any that would be free or cheap so to speak. You have seen what Im investing in and its not an ideal path if you have a low budget. You also havent stated your budget. Not necessarily more power, but a different delivery of power will come from the OBX mani but it will change your driving, top end at the expense of low end. Its not called a racing manifold for nothing and is made to operate and respond at high revs where you need the power most. Its also a combination of things that will make your setup that much more enjoyable. Daily driving will be less enjoyable, and you will only be satisfied when you can properly open her up, hence my final destination is the track, being on the road just doesnt cut it and will never realise my cars full potential, maybe just the surface. Wish I could be of more help. Joz
