  1. get yourself onto super - you wont notice a "Switch " change though it will be gradual as the ECU learns that its not about to det all the time LOL! Steve
  2. I always use Tesco 99 as I drive past the place twice a day! I must say that I have had to put a fivers worth of 95 in as they were out of 99 and I was down to just below 1/4 tank (yes I could have got home but not risking it) asked the woman at the desk when they were getting 99 back in though as my Glanza HATES being run on 95 - It seems to stutter if that makes sense so I have to drive it like a granny Steve
  3. as above really - leave it for now as it should be fast enough for you. Without supporting mods you are likely to do damage if you up the boost Steve
  4. Its an Electronic Boost Controller so it controlls the boost levels electronically! The boost controller will limit the boost to whatever its set at (probs 0.8 and/or 1 bar) If you are new to turbo's then leave the settings alone as you will probs damage someting. Look online for a user manual and read that and it should help. Steve

    Bad Idea?

Nice! Shared a stripped out one with a mate as a track car and it was great fun! Steve
  6. I'd say to get the best starter car you can from the advice given above but then just do to it what you feel necessary. I'd never do a track day without a fire extinguisher or helmet but thats just personal safety! Just remember that you won't be challenging experienced trackday-ers straight away so dont try to! Ease yourself into it, find your feet and get experience, get your lines right for the track and THEN try to go faster by improving the car. Most of all though - go out and have fun as thats what you have paid for! Steve
  7. Cheers Where would I buy new syncros from? Have I got to be robbed by Toyota or do any of the dealers do them? Plus is it a hard job to do? Steve
  8. Used to have one of those in my Corsa B lol! Twas a monster and sounded mint through my decatted piper exhaust (that was all that mattered when I was 18 lol!) 192 but a lot are faster from the factory. My brother mate has one and it made 205hp after being run in for the first few K then when he put the remus exhaust and a couple of other supporting mods on it made 253hp so they aren't shy. Because of its weight its a lard compared to a Starlet though with most Starlets weighing in at under a tonne so you only need a reasonably tuned Starlet to have one over! We swapped cars for a trip to
  9. Er where's the scan feature? I've only got a peasant spec curve so its probs not got it LOL! Steve
  10. Bought a Cusco rear Strutbrace and TRD Rad Cap from Lewis. Both came well packed and pretty quickly so happy with the service Cheers mate Steve
  11. Agreed - then paypal complaint for cash back Steve
  12. Friend of my brother got one and was bragging about it after he had the exhaust and filter done. I went past him with ease in my Glanza which is not a lot over standard and my brother then passed him in his standard Astra H SRi They call them Sanitory Towels for a reason! Steve
  13. Quite sad really but Was going to do it last winter so got an old cone filter I had in the garage and attached it with cable ties where i'd be locating it as a test, after a week of driving the roads near me normally (country back roads) it was grafted so I thought better of it! Steve
  14. Do you have working windows? It never gets hot enough in the uk to warrant Air Con in my opinion and if its hot you open the window (or sunroof in my case!) I'd also rather drop the weight of the pump etc as they weigh a tonne! There's no point building a performance car then lumping around unneccessary weight! Back on topic! Kit looks good, doing mine after winter as I will end up killing my filter with shit from the roads if I do mine now LOL! Steve
  15. What spec is the spec 3 What power/ torque would you expect with a typical set up? Steve
  16. My gearbox has started to grind into 3rd at high revs/boost. It doesn't seem to be any other gears but if I do a fast-ish change into 3rd it seems to be slipping into gear and making a fast grinding noise. If I granny change (Fully depress clutch then notch it in at a "1 and 2 and" kind of speed then lift the clutch its fine. Do you think its the syncro ring on 3 or something else. Not really a technical whiz with gearboxes so would appreciate any help/ advice. If it is the syncros, how expensive are they and where do I get them from (dealer on here or do I have to be bum raped by my main d
  17. I'm so JDM even my toilet has a BRIDE bucket seat I'm so JDM my kids use Takata harnesses for reins I'm so JDM I only eat Project Mu-shrooms Just a couple off thetop of my head LOL! Steve
  18. Why Thanks *blushes* LOL! Well the simpler we can make life for all users the better. And if anyone wants to give me discount on my order for having this idea they are more thank welcome LOL Steve
  19. Thought that too but didn't want to discriminate against other traders I'm sure other people are like me and like to just get service items in one job lot rather than buying lots of things from different places and having them be delivered at different times etc. Its just so convenient to select Service Kit A/B/C and hit pay then wait for the box to arrive complete! LOL! Steve
  20. Mabie ring the specialist 1st and ask It may be cheaper to buy a complete new unit from one of the traders Search the tinterweb for making a hybrid turbo and that should throw up some tips Steve
  21. Simples really! Record what happened somewhere and tell loads of people Keep a record of his name (if you know it) and Reg Plate Go on ebay and get one of those dummy video security cameras and set it up looking at your V so that its out of reach of plebs Buy lockable gates for your drive (if you can) That way you have covered everything Steve
