looking at getting my intercooler pipework chromeplated after ive finished welding the bov adaptor welded. Any previous experiances , photos and numbers very welcome.

if you fit a bleed valve for instance, and set it up at a bar, then get a slight boost spike for instance, then what?i totally agree with something like an emanage, a adjustable fuel pressure reg and a fuel cut defencer along with a bleed valve is bhp on a budget, at a cost

sorry chap, but i think your wrong.unless you have an electronic boost solenoid controlling the boost itll never be accurate or safe.the boost pressure can rise and drop, and will do with a bleed valve type. electronic solenoids adjust to suit, they can also be set up with a safety cut so if you do get a boost spike, itll sort it. bleeed valves are a cheap and easy option, but its cheaper to get an electronically controlled one than a new turbo or internals.

as the guys have said, i wouldnt just fit a bleed valve and crank the boost up. unless you wanna say bye bye to your pistons and a big hello to a hole in your block lol sort out the fueling (pump,injectors,rrfpr) sort out the fuel cut either with a piggy back or standalone or just fit a fcd if you want fancy mapping the ecu 1.2bar is probably the max on a standard ct9 and as i said, im sorting out fueling, cooling etc before i get an electronic bc

the hks type s is the same size as the blitz one, just cheaper if you can find it on ebay still

as sicaln said ^ mine gets thrashed most days and begs for more. Toyota engines in general are extremely reliable and solid.Unless its been seriously abused, you wont have problems matey.. Welcome to the fun

lol sorry about the post title, alena made it. The intercooler was 346 and postage was 95 so works out dirt cheap compared to the price in my hks catalogue - intercooler 746 pipe kit 234

its 600x300 as i checked on the hks website, the type r is a triple or quad row type which are generally larger for skylines,350's etc they only make the type s for the starlet

they do fir perfectly mate, alltho they dont come with the extra mounting bracket, so they put alot of strain on the exhaust mid. but then again, the blitz one doesnt even come with the extra support bracket so..

the easier the exhaust gasses flow out of the turbo, the better. On a n/a you wouldnt want to lose ALL backpressure as it will lose you hp

sorry to hear that shelly, bit of a bummer. Gaz's wepr system is mint, yes it does sit at a slight angle but most exhausts do on a starlet. the quality is spot on, alltho i think he had to trim 3" off of the mid section? I have a hks system, again it sits angled.quiet too which i like. apexi's look good value but ive yet to see one fitted

96 glanza v with my current mods declared, 1600 fully comp w/ quinn direct. alltho rich asked them today and they would insure him because he is under 25? though im only 20 lol. Maybe because i was previously insured with them for 3 years , since i turned 17 and passed and ive had my 4 previous cars all insured with them?

if you get a defi gauge , make sure you get the hub.Then you can expand from the boost, to oil , water , volts etc etc Bit pricey but you simply connect them to the hub once its all sensor'd up and wired.
