just needs a new motor. ive had 2 (semi) new motors. its because there is a metal worm gear that drives a silly nylon gear which moves the regulator. its a really easy job, but you can get the motor from many different toyota cars, got to a breakers yard it'l cost like £20 and there will be loads there! ive had one from a supra and one from an mr2. direct fit.

yes its obvious its to reflect heat to prevent heat soak. but didnt you ever realise that it completely stops the airflow throught the cooler?

just gut the cat! its a peice of piss to do, 30 mins at the most. feels better to drive too! i did it and its fine. but u know me, im a dodgy bastard!

RADWELD i have the same problem, but a bottle of radweld has sorted the problem, no leaks since since January!!

if the paint code is 199 then the colour is actually called "silver" look on the chassis plate at the back of the engine bay on the firewall. the toyota paint codes are at the very bottom of the chassis plate, and its the second 3 digit number from the left. i hope i didnt make that sound too complicated. im a painter, i do this kind of shit all day!

if i drive really sensibly i can get about 300 kms on £20. which is about 190 miles. its boring though!

hmmm yeah i expect it is the seals then. you rekon i can get mine hybridised and reconditioned at the same time? just seems a shame to spend alot of money to recondition it if its not going to give me any power gain! grrrr i dont know what to do!

ive just had a look my turbo and stuff. should there be any oil at all in my intercooler piping? there is some in mine and some in the intercooler. its not much, but enough to make my finger black when i touch the inside of the pipes. there is also i little bit inside the compressor housing, cant see it much but feels greasy and slippery. is my turbo blown??

i am getting loads of blue smoke from my exhaust, only when the engine is hot. mostly when im sitting in traffic. i am kind of hoping its my turbo seals causing the smoke, because if its my piston rings or anything then i wont be a happy boy! anybody know how i can tell if my turbo is blown? there doesnt seem to be any loss in performance at all. but anyway, if i need a new turbo then its a good excuse to go hybrid am i right in thinking WEPR sell hybrid ct9's now? but as the site is down i cant get on to find out help me!!!!! cheers guys

wow i forgot about this thread! i bought streetracer_starlets old rx-7 cooler off him a while ago. its olny held on by the hoses, solid as a rock! and it was very little hassle to fit. made a nice difference though, turbo spools up quicker and it fits under the bonnet nice and snug. well worth it.

yeah around the 13psi area. be careful though as the stock intercooler is not always up to the task. from starndard the boost pressure is 6psi on lo and 9.5psi on hi. just incase you didnt already know

well, i am still without a boost gauge so i dont know what i am actually running! i turnred up the boost with the hks actuator till i hit the fuel cut, then turned it down a wee bit. still catches me out with the odd spike but goes like a charm!!
