i cant see it being cambelt.... although it hasnt been done since i imported it last month. im first uk owner...

it does appear i have a problem then! hhmm! investigation time... any ideas on what to try people?

i dont know if im being fussy, but hey here goes... my engines spec is: jasma exhaust blitz decat TM manifold blitz access ecu hks actuator TT filter relocation kit HDI front mount intercooler MM oil catch tank magncore ht leads irdium spark plugs g7 wen the actuator arrived i ran a boost pipe thru thwe window to setup the boost to 1bar.... however now ive set it up permanently in the car and ive noticed sumthing.... I only get a full 1bar of boost at about 5000rpm.... im at 0.7bar by 3500rpm, 0.8bar by 4000rpm.... does that sound normal? does the actuator setting have anything to do with how fast it boosts? or is it just the max amount of boost? any advice on what boost at wat rpm people get would be fantastic ;)

hehe... ok... so wat wud u choose: wiesco or wossner or JE pistons scat or pauter or PEC? whats strongest out of them all?

wat are the rpm and bhp limits of forged internals? I mean wepr make a godzilla kit... which is just silly... what would you say is the max boost that could run at? Planning on a forged 2nd engine build up over the summer to drop in over winter.... Cheers Matt

i take it uve got a N/A starlet IE non turbo... The best things you can do in my opinion is: 1st off strip anything out weight wise you dont need, spare wheels, jacks, seats. etc only slowing you down! Service your car! fresh oil, filter, plugs will help it run to its max potiential... then the usual breathing mods! Make sure the car can get the air in and gases out as fast as it can.... then i would just save and buy a turbo'd starlet or drop a turbo lump in Have fun tuning hope this helps!

sparky, ive been driving so slow i dont want to ruin my turbo! my mate took the piss saying jap crap! i put him right, cus hdi is actually austrailian company? lol i dont rag my car at all. i give it alot of mechanical sympathy.... feed power in, dont slam the gears about. so im quite miffed this failed... hopefully it shall be welded up on tuesday. since its bank holiday everywhere ive tried is shut! another weekend of left 4 dead for me then! i hope it pisses it down! if i cant enjoy driving my car in the sun no one else shud be able to sucks

tthere is a crack on the manifold.... it was boosting to 0.6bar before. dropped some weld on the manifold as a temp fix... now he has 0.7bar... cud still be leaking!

its a proper HDI one mate anyone know were i can get a hotpipe only for a hdi or jp fmic kit.... all the places r shut today! so gotta wait till monday to see about getting it welded!

im gona try get it welded, but id still luv to buy a spare now ive seen it actually fail :/ TRD engine mounts mickey boy... how much r they! tempting... Help lol x

my hotpipe just failed on my HDI fmic kit i was boosting it up.... then all my boost lights on the rev counter just went off... :s turned music off, opened window.... hoover noise. wtf opened hood, looked round all the joiners, all seemed fine. then a glance at hotpipe and just put my hand on it and the whole thing came off the flange in my hand pissed off! When i fitted the kit, i made sure nothing was rattling or touching metal or anything like that.... so im unsure what caused the failure But im going to try and get it welded, but if not whats the best place i can get a new hot pipe from peeps? hey people... has anyone got a spare top hose lying around? cud they measure the insidesize of it please? Im going to need to cut mine to fit a water temp sensor but the adapters come in 3 sizes! 1" 1 3/16" 1 3/8" i could remove my top hose to measure, but saves me the hassle if sum's upgraded to a samco and got an old one lying around Cheers Matt.

maybe a yellow strut brace to go with it... yellow is a bit bright without anything else to match! bet there wayyyy more bracing and comfy tho! also, do they go any further back then stockers dude? im 6ft6 and im quite tall in the legs area. I fit in ok now but cant help thinking another 1-2inch further back would be perfect :harhar:

i took this few months ago: was getting 6.7-6.9secs few more mods and fettling (specs in descriptions) now getting 6.0-6.2secs :harhar: just for the record i rarely drive like this! purely to take a video. timed using timecode... gettin fair bit of 1st gear wheelspin now! So maybe some better tyres!

got a sard blow off valve too! if i let off slowly i get chatter if i let off fast i get the blow off sound... i like :harhar:
