  1. insured under mums name, yeah so why even have insurance? it's invalid anyway if its your car, you're the main driver, not her. named policy's are for second drivers, which this clearly isnt. also, over 3k for insurance? ha. hahaha. hahahahaha. why would anyone ever pay that? least of all on a bloody starlet. seriously mate, there's more to life. get something affordable for a while, job done. there is no way in the world i'd ever pay that for insurance, it's rediculous. i'd be willing to bet that you could insure a supra or gt-four for less than that, on your own policy. you'd be surprised w
  2. them organic ones are pants ye. got one from dave when i had mine and it was slipping within months, only on stock boost. was a genuine exedy, they're just oem replacement, and shit. if you want uprated, buy uprated, simple as. also, when i got my ek9 the stock clutch went within a week. it was the original clutch, but still, it had problems going in third when i bought it, was very tough until revs dropped, then it snicked in. turned out the clutch died shortly after and it didnt move at all, sounds like the similar problem you've had. the spring retaining plate had snapped and one of the sp
  3. might aswell refresh it when its out boys, even if its just simple stuff like timing belt, gaskets, water pump etc. so much easier when it's on a bench, and aint exactly expensive when using oem/blueprint parts. means it's less to worry about when the engine's in. also, achilles? didnt know you were david beckham mate. we should have sex, as you're sexy etc.
  4. for reference rob, we're prob gonna have a dj and most likely a big marquee so if we're close again then everyones more than welcome to listen to our music and mingle with us etc. you know how it is, everyones welcome. also forgot to say, for those that dont want drums, we'll probably be selling thatch and other interesting ciders by the pint will prob bring along flavoured ones like strawberry, cherry, melon etc, depends what I decide to go for. either way, you'll all be drunk, deliciously drunk.
  5. i just bought one of those for £70. booka.
  6. as mentioned, those bride recliners dont offer a great deal of support, so on long drives are uncomfortable. you'd be better off with something like integra type-r dc2 or civic type-r ek9 recaro's (same thing), as they are superbly supportive, yet still very comfortable. can get em in black or red for about 300quid a pair without rails, sometimes as low as 200. superb seats. or alternatively, stock evo 4 recaros, which can be had for like 100quid. job done.
  7. there are other versions, fcon iS, fcon V, fcon V Pro etc, all are very different. some are difficult to get mapped, due to the software needed, some are easier. just depends.
  8. yeah prob off a generator, due to the shape.
  9. dane ran this did he not? or was it sat doing nothing? i'd get another turbo company to look at it, just in case. nothing like a second opinion.
  10. werd up homes. i aint been on in ages either, had some free time so though i'd pop on today. ironic that you should also. sup.

  16. as good as vtec can sound? wow, someones bitter. ;] havent heard many things as good as a vtec with a decent intake on song, b16b with a decent intake, when on the larger cam (and to an extent even when off cam) sounds just glorious. not had anything sound quite as nice, even with large turbos.
  17. nop, im driving it. i've heard it's delicious to drive, thus i need to experience. you can borrow the compressor for a bit ^^;

  20. to be honest the 4e/5e are good engines, the best part of a starlet in fact. the actual chassis is the negative aspect of the car, so putting a different engine in is a bit silly really, if you're wanting to create something quick, like a track car or something. compared to say, a simple EG or EK civic chassis, the starlet chassis needs alot of work, removing the best part of the car does seem a bit silly. but hey, its your money. anything is possible with enough of it.

    So Made Up

    hahahahaha i'll pay you twice that to sit in my room and entertain me.
  22. they are, indeed, different things. the mechanics of both are different, if you consider the physics also when considering the engine as a simple air pump, it's obvious to see the differences. i'm far too tired at this moment to consider what either of you have said, but both seem to be valid points from skim reading them. my understanding of the two terms is as rick has explained, that they are separate things, even if they are closely related. tim it seems you have contradicted yourself slightly as you seem to have agreed with then argued with your own points, which was quite amusing. that w
  23. if you want vtec, buy a civic. the chassis in them is superb, even out of the box. whereas a starlet, well, isn't. they're cheap enough also, much easier than faffing around with a n/a starlet, as you'll have everything else that goes with it. i have an ek9, obviously the best of the civics, but even the vti's and sir's have brilliant chassis'. anyone who knows about the tc-ek4 can comment accordingly ;)
  24. just get a front mount mate, they're not much more and make such a difference. i had an arc tmic, and it was shit. if you're on a track, sure, it can get constant hot air, but on the road where you need to slow down and stop etc, it quickly warms up and acts as a bloody hairdryer.
