fuel cut is variable, mine kicks in almost dead on 0.9bar, but due to innaccuracies with the gauges there's no exact figures as it WILL vary. also, if you're banging it off fuel cut then this will certainly not help, it does no end of damage to the engine. i've only hit it once, recently in fact, and i felt like throwing up after, was horrible what bov do you have? if its one of them wierd orange hks pipe things (i think it is) then they're renowned to leak to be honest, me and a friend have discussed it before aswell as with our bloke in japan and it was the general consensus that they're
  2. Not at all, it all depends what it was originally mapped for. Alot say the JAM is mapped more aggressively, but there are indeed a few versions of the jam too, along with other versions of the specific ecu's. if your mods match the ecu's mapping, then it'll be bloody superb (as the new owner of my blitz ecu will report), but if not then obviously it wont be performing to its full capabilities. there are many floating about, at the end of the day you'll never beat a fully mappable item (emanage, power fc etc) but they're a good step-to really, if you can match the mapping (although its almost
  3. yes - and they're horrifically firm also jay, i ask for only what they cost to purchase from the auction (including all shipping/customs fees etc), then just a small fee on top to cover my time/effort, prob around 10% or so, depends on the individual really i think them kyb's have ended now but if you give me a shout via u2u/pm/email/msn then we can have a chat for sure mate.

did you actually fit the earlier ecu or just presume that because the model numbers were the same that the internal mapping would be the same?? might be worth having another look at it.
  5. they cant be remapped mate, all the after market ecu's you hear of (blitz, jam, sard etc) actually use daughter-boards wired into the stock ecu board, because its impossible to crack the stock ecu due to the complicated system toyota use to prevent such a thing. thats why the aftermarket ecu's are so sought after
  6. that'll mean it doesnt have standard lsd, unless an aftermarket one was fitted, but it will be just the one wheel spinning unless your tyres are that crap
  7. hm if both wheels are spinning it may well have an lsd, but i doubt it very much, whats the gearbox code on the VIN plate under the bonnet? will be able to see from there. were there any other mods on it when it came over? lsd keeps both wheels even so traction is spread evenly, without one just one wheel will spin, if both yours are spinning (you might wanna check because sometimes it feels like both are when only one is) then it might have one there already. also, definately sort your tyres out first, that'll make a huge difference.
  8. yep that'll be either the fact your tyres are crap/nackered, or the fact you dont have lsd (and just ONE wheel is spinning as all the torque will be going there instead of spread evenly between the two). aftermarket lsd's are around the 400-500 mark, new, although used ones can be had from the auctions for less, or you could buy a whole LSD gearbox from someone like trev on tgtt for about £450, then just swap gearboxes over.
  9. there's some of those kyb's on the auctions i believe at the moment jay, black with green hillclimb (sp) writing yes?
  10. anti-lift plates - whiteline make them, or check tgtt, VTRick sells them. ecu's are from auctions/jap only yes, around the £400-500 mark. lsd's were optional extra's yes, but aftermarket ones can obviously be installed into your gearbox, and are often better than the stock items (cusco, kaaz, trd etc).
  11. Suspension first, maybe some anti-lift plates, but what made the most difference for me for pretty much that budget was a Blitz Access ECU, then whacked boost upto around 0.95-1bar. almost uncontrollable in 1st and 2nd, pulled like a madman, didnt increase top end too much (but there was a difference) due to me not actually using the other supporting mods with it (the new owner has more mods to suit the ECU's tuning and apparently it pulls like a nutter now up top, instead or running out of puff at 90 it keeps pulling to 130+, even with the stock ct9). but yeah, that made a huge difference on
  12. geo - i'm looking to purchase some coilovers from japan at present, if there's any you're after then let me know because im sure if there's some softer ones on there (spring rate wise) then they'd be much more benefitial to you than to me (i'd be buying them to sell anyway). There's loads of TRD coilovers on there, and now and again sets of cusco's etc pop up on there, if yours are buddyclubs then that explains why they're so firm, they're renowned to be horrifically stiff! give me a pm or catch me on msn and we'll talk, it obviously needs sorting out so i'll do my best. does sound like it ne
  13. yeah you still need to force the piston back in, my friend fitted mine on the weekend (new discs and pads) and he has a special tool to compress the piston back in so he could actually get it all back together, was a big ass clamp type tool.
  14. you wind the caliper back in yeah?
  15. on aftermarket rears? there are none, and they aren't really needed, the stock ones do the job just fine, they barely do anything anyway. OEM replacements with decent pads should do the job, its not like they'll add anything to the situation anyway with 4pots up front. yes i know he wouldnt lower the price, i've contacted him before, and a friend of mine is buying some of his other interesting items (which again he wont lower the price on, cheeky git).
  16. they can be had for less than that, toby's sourced em over on tgtt. also, the mods in question are those adaptor plate things that come with the outlaws, plus them outlaws have obv been around for a while. fair play for taking the plunge, you're a braver man than i. considering that though, if you're an mr2 nut, did you consider modifying some mr2 calipers/carriers to fit? its been done in the past and as you obv know them well i thought you may have looked into that in the past.
  17. .......you've never heard of ZEP????? oh dear.... http://www.zep-rm.com/ tut tut.
  18. cheapest? hm, i'd query that, as zep's are quite a bit cheaper from memory.
  19. those were silly money.... ....better you that me!!
  20. good point. i wouldn't expect anything less, you're gods amongst men.
  21. .... have you guys not noticed the dates? bloody welsh.
