Was browsing Auto Express and stumbled onto a new project by Honda -- The New Honda Civic TypeR-R!! Looks Pretty Cool: From the AutExpress article and another couple of sites I was reading it's gonna be putting out 260bhp from the same i-Vtech 2.0l unit and will be a more "stripped-out" version for racing, costing about £44'000!?! What you'll get is: What you get Full-on race bucket seats Alcantara steering wheel Dash mounted start button Tweaked ECU VTEC cut-in reduced from 5,400rpm to 5,100rpm Six speed sequential gearbox Increased steering response Tweaked s

Was like you were never away, never even missed you... by that I mean you were here in spirit of course! So did you have fun feeding the starving bunnies of southern uzbekistan or whatever you were away doing?

how do you make a glanza faster for as cheap as possible?

Believe it or not my bro wondered how for a few weeks his car felt a lot slower... his car mat had slipped up and had limited the throttle travel by about an inch He moved the carpet back down and was fairly impressed again Honestly everyone jokes about buying FCD's and turning the boost up, but that's the way the majority of punto GT's were tuned around my way... Everyone was like, wow your Punto's affy fast, then a month or two later they were looking through their pistons and out the holes in the side of there blocks. -

My thoughts exactly mate If you volunteered for this then you'd have to be pretty willing to go to every event and meet near you to snap pics, which I'm sure most people couldn't through other responsibilities. Personally I think it's good the way it is, everyone just snaps away at meets and posts up their pics here, plus you get different "types" of photo -- I know for definate that when me and Geo met up the last time, He had some totally different ideas for photo's to me which I prob wouldn't have thought of, which worked really well! Most individual photographers develop a style, wh

There's a black Civic TypeR (not the brand new, but the last typeR) rolls about Glasgow with real TE37's that colour, it looks awesome! I think all the green would just make your car look a bit odd though

He's fitted and set up my mates VTech controller It's not that hard though.

Buy a bleed valve and turn your boost up to 2BAR, you'll need an FCD though... it'll be affy fast! (kidding) It does feel quicker with the boost restriction bypassed. But to be honest you shouldn't look for any cheap fixes, it'll only cost you in the long run -
Yeah, Luckily we've got a good strech of road close by which he can use to map your car, between two roundabouts, one direction uphill the other down (obviously ) Paul will sit with the laptop mapping and tell you to sit at various throttle positions in various gears. The good thing is that he's got a few base maps from mapping other starlets so once it's fitted it shouldn't take too long to fine tune to your modifications. And yeah, he can do it at the weekends no probs, he works shifts, so maybe some weekends he won't be able to but I'm sure you can work something out.

needing input here to sell this car on wheel colour choices
lobotomy replied to a topic in Lifestyle General
Nope -- Black, you'll defo get some boy racer interested in it! Or maybe as Si'd said, anthrecite. -
Yeah, c'mon stevie, get your ti... wheels out!

I'm gonna make a few adjustments to the one above -- nothing much, just finish it off slightly. Will do you a widescreen one when I do that.

Hmmm, seems they must've forgotten to pay membership on their domain name. It's a bugger when you're trying to buy stuff!

Yeah -- I remeber this car from EBay ages ago. Took a bit of a slating back then because the guys advert made no sense and he couldn't seem to answer any technical questions to anyone who asked, even though he said he built it himself? Looks pretty cool though.

Yep mapped on the road -- which is probably the best option as you get real life loads on the engine as your mapping. You could prob do the boost controller DIY with a tutorial, but I'm sure if you said to Paul he could do it to.

I only had mine derestricted for about a week... hit fuel cut 2 or three times, then put it back. But have to admit it seemed a hell of a lot quiker, especially as the boost comes in harder. Plus I could flutter in 1st and second which I can't when I'm restricted, makes the wee girls knee's shake

Prob worth the petrol up from england too

^^^ As Joz said, my mate Paul can fit and map your Emanage for you. We're based in east ayrshire too so quite close (5min from kilmarnock) Give him an email if your interested: gt4cs@yahoo.co.uk He's done a bunch of starlets in the last few months, all have given him a good feedback, so you can be rest assured mate, it'll be done ok!

Yep it's the air rushing backwards through the compressor blades of the turbo -- In high boost applications like race/rally/drag cars this can lead to the thrust bearing to prematurely wear and possible wear on the compressor blades but from the people who I know who don't run BOV's (including me) haven't noticed any reduction in turbo life.
