  1. I've been trying to work out whereabouts on ayrshire you're from going by the pics, but can't... so where you from? There's loads of Glanza's about ayrshire now!!
  2. I'm sure direct line laughed at me when I tried -- You have to remeber a lot of companies insure imports, just not all recognise the Glanza as a Glanza and that's where the problem lies. I was 23 with 0NCB and I was £1300FC with masterquote
  3. My first choice would be the yellow off the EVO -- because if you're changing the colour of the car you may as well go all out! Otherwise the Civic Jordan yellow, my mates got one and it's nice all polished up.
  4. My mate paul has been fitting clutches and turbo's for a few folk recently -- He works on weekends out his garage but don't worry he's seen and fitted more engine internals than he's had hot dinners. He'd be cheap and his work would be A1 I'm sure! Could ask him for you?
  5. I've still to do the P8 and P9 series yet -- will do them in a wee bit.
  6. Visual Guide to Starlet Model Variants The Toyota Starlet has firm roots in history, the model name being attached initially to special editions of the Toyota Publica model in 1960's. The "Starlet" itself however was first introduced in 1978 and the series ran till its production end in 1999 to be superceeded by the Toyota Yaris (or Vitz in the Japanese Domestic Market). What follows is a pictorial guide to the variants and models of Starlet available: Starlet 60 Series (1978 - 1984) KP60 (1978-1979) Price New:???? Dimensions (LxWxH): ???? Wheelbase: ???? Weight: ???? Trim: DX Doors: 3
  7. Damn -- I've just noticed this thread! I've started a definitive Starlet model guide with pictures. I was actually just starting the EP8x section and I was searching google and this thread came up! Whoops! With your permission Jay, can I incorporate some of the info and pics? Mine isn't as in depth to features so this will still stand in good stead as an EP82 guide!
  8. Hmmmmm.... I'm not sure I should post this: 'adrian gail' anagrams to 'A rigid, anal.'
  9. EP is the model designation for the starlet: Ie; KP60 EP71 EP82-- Pre-facelift (zenki) EP82-- facelift (kouki) -- often referred to as quadlight EP91 (Glanza) -- pre- facelift EP91 (Glanza) -- Face-lift But as the EP is just a reference to the model age as such the UKDM starlet N/A (naturally aspirated) is also referred to as an EP91, same as with the EP8x, EP7x KP6x etc substituting the x for whatever engine so the EP81 is an N/A, EP85 is diesel etc... EP91 N/A --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10. The compressed air trick is an old one -- My mate used to take a couple cans with him when he took his car down the strip. Just before he went down he'd get someone to spray the compressed air upside down onto his intercooler, it basically comes out as dry ice! Cools the intake charge temp for the first bit of the quarter mile before the cool air starts to flow properly through the fins.
  11. I'm not 100% sure mate -- it was actually a review of a DSLR cam in a magazine (which I never bought) so I thought I'd turn it off on mine. Not taken any pics to see the dif tho. Has something to do with the image processor... I'm gonna read up on this on the net though and try to find a definitive answer. The way I saw it though was the superfine compression pics are larger (in filesize)... implying that they're compressed less... implying less loss of detail through compression?? But this mag had 3 pics in RAW format, Normal compression and Superfine compression, and you could see a bit mor
  12. I actually take the ISO off auto on my camera and whack it down to the minimum possible! 64 on the S5600 -- Going higher just introduces noise! If I'm in a situation where the slowest shutter speed (15sec on mine) and aperature setting that I want is still giving an underexposed image I'll maybe pop the ISO setting up a little. I also actually just read the other day that the super fine compression which I've been using actually adds blur/noise to my photo's aswell! I just assumed superfine would be the best option for getting the best photo's!
  13. Yeah that's the one I've used for all the photo's on my FlickR account. Actually just mentioning FlickR -- Ir's got this good camera comparing bit on it that lets you see the kind of photo's taken by FlickR users with certain different cameras. I couldn't find the samsung one but here's some with the other two: FlickR -- Cam comparer [Olympus SP510] FlickR -- Cam comparer [Fuji Finepix S5600]
  14. If I get a DSLR in the next couple of months I'll keep you in mind -- wouldn't want anywhere near retail when I sell it so I'll keep you in mind bud (since it's been so well used )
  15. I'd go with the Olympus mate -- but to throw another one into the mix: Fuji Finepix S5600 @ Tesco's This is the camera I've got. I'm a bit tired of it now, wanna move on to DSLR soon, but I payed £300 with case and memory 1 and 1/2 years ago for it. Tesco's has it for £130 -- Lot's of intermediate features but only 5.1MP
  16. Nope not Andrew's car -- Mine was on Sparco's. Half the reason I got rid of my car was: ^^^ Nice car shame about the hat!
  17. If it's doing it on deceleration then it's more likely to be top-end wear -- like valve stem seals. Or could be as simple as the clogged PCV like Paul suggested.
  18. It doesn't match exactly but I think having the arch extensions would be pretty trick anyway! @Si: Never had a prob with the banner -- what resolution are you tunning your monitor on? Also is it a widescreen laptop? I run 1280x960 incidentally
  19. It's the bumper off the Remix "SUV" starlet -- this one Remix Starlet
  20. I wouldn't trust them if the centre bore is off personally -- you might not feel any play but when you're doing 60mph the vibrations will multiply and you'll end up sheering off some studs.
  21. That's right, my Glanza passed 2 MOT's without side repeaters.
  22. I had that problem too mate! You'll learn where it is soon enough though -- I've found driving my dad's primera that I randomly go to push a blank spot on the dash when I'm thinking of overtaking! I'm sorry about that exhaust mate -- I never had any trouble with it after having it welded up. Might have been the long drive just broke open the welds? Sorry!
