  1. Mine are a lot worse, they actually have deep grooves Can't you just get em skimmed?
  2. "so if i take the caliper off and sliders wont move, if i get em freely moving the i should be ok no new caliper" It doesn't guarantee you won't need a rebuild, but it may fix the problem "if i take off the caliper and the sliders are already free moving then its the piston and ill need a new caliper" I think so!
  3. Maybe just see how it goes with the sliders first, and then try a caliper rebuild. I don't think caliper rebuild kits cost a lot and I don't think they're too hard, someone on here did one quite recently. Plus it's better than buying loads of seized calipers! Let us know how you get on, I need to sort mine out too when I'm back home
  4. Well I've never had a look at the rears so I dunno if they're the same, but for the fronts: When you take the caliper bit of the carrier so it's loose, it has a part on the top and bottom kind of a slider covered in a rubber housing, it moves in and out (if you can imagine it moving towards the centre of the car and then back out). Gary sprayed WD40 under the rubber seals into the sliders and knocked either side back and forth with a hammer until they could be slided by hand. Both for the top and bottom one. Not sure whether it'll help the rear calipers, but if mine are sticky like that I'll
  5. My discs are like this too! My front caliper sliders were sticking, and Gary GBR loosened them up for me. I'm guessing you have to do the same for rears? EDIT: Why don't you just rebuild the calipers?

I did the left side too, only thing I had to wire was the earth, rest was plug and play

Was gonna say I think it's relay related because they only get power from one side
  8. I'm glad you brought this up, my kid brother comes on here sometimes. Not a good look.
  9. Payment for my stand pass on the way now Steve!
  10. Okay so the silly spending begins! Ordered: - Civic dual-core alloy Rad from CJ Performance - OEM 3-Point strut brace - JD Tuning C-Pillar brace - PI 40mm lowering springs - CAP Clutch rated to 265Ft/Lb More coming soon!
  11. James @CJ Performance is a trader on here he does the rads cheaper ;)
  12. Good man! Takes up a silly amount of space doesn't it?
  13. Damn that is really useful! You've now made me feel less guilty over stumping for a set Then again I'd rather pay £150 for gauges than hundreds for a new engine! I remember reading about oil starvation round corners a long time ago on here, but thought it was only possible when oil was low
  14. I found a rear brace made a big difference on my NA along with a Whiteline RARB so I'm getting those on the GT Rob book the 11:48 and 14:18 sessions, we have about 14 or so Starlets on at one time hehe Track session list
  15. Yeah I remember you and Craig telling me about that, sound like a bunch of prats tbf! I see what you mean, not expecting a racing car, just want it to be reliable yet quick so I can track it a few times a year What sorts of things do changes oil pressure indicate? Thanks Tom let's hope it doesn't come to needing a rebuild ey! Haha
  16. Wow I was expecting you to have stock suspension bar the springs Were the Whiteline springs just not stiff? I might try banging on the RARB from the NA for the day too if I can find someone to fit it Wheyy you wanna sell it to me?
  17. Cool Toyota 5.1 fluid it is Yeah I've got the brakes planned out as in my 1st post. Kind of glad I didn't go out at Japfest as my brakes were stock too lol! Holy body roll Batman! That's crazy! PI springs work quite well on my NA, and the 3-point rear brace/C-pillar should help too Just spotted the triple pod pillar thingy, does it fit well and where did you get it? I now need one lol
  18. Not at all Chris, you know a lot so it's good to hear your opinion on this No idea how to do any of those checks bar the fan, tyres and fluid levels lol I'm definitely going to change the brake fluid and I'm buying new braided hoses anyway. Was gonna go with DOT 5.1 Toyota fluid but is it worth getting race fluid? If so is there any you would recommend? I'm definitely going to try and get Oil temp, pressure and Water temp gauges by July. It was my plan to get it all by next year and track the car then but I want to track it now lol
