  1. LOL, it's better than how the thread was going...
  2. You're right, one loss is anothers gain... Idrees is a good member to lose, but as Phil says, he did seem to want to push the boundaries... And as for Dylan, it's not just him that runs the site... The other Admin bods and Mods do have some form of say you know...
  3. We were asked by a close family member to remove the condolences thread on TGTT as relatives did not yet know of the tragic accident. Just thought I'd mention on here in case someone wanted to do the same, as finding out via the web would be a horrible way to made be aware of such bad news.
  4. Nope, I nearly shit myself I laughed so hard at the complete jibberish above!
  5. Sorry to drag this one back up again, but I'm getting close to the '200' vote mark which I'd imagine would give me a shot of being entered into the judging panel... Anyone else want to vote for my piccies please?
  6. Thanks to all who've voted! Surely a few more people want to help me out with a few seconds of their time by voting for both pictures?
  7. LOL, last car I looked at in Bradford, you could see the road through the floor... Oddly enough, I've never been back since, and that was in 2005...
  8. It's refreshing to have 2 completely different sites, and even more so when members have the choice to choose their preferred site. However, just because you prefer one, doesn't mean that what the other site does is wrong or crap. It's just different. Both sites are there for us all, and both can be accessed freely. Non members can still get all the information they need from TGTT, but they can't 'personalise' as much as they can without. As Jay pointed out, TGTT doesn't bring in the millions you'd imagine, but it does need to have money thrown at it to keep it going based upon the hits i
  9. I'll keep my eye out for you... What colour?
  10. There's always been a nice one featured in the Hyper Revs Starlet mag. Wanted one ever since I saw it!
  11. Guys/Gals, Despite the fact that I only had my trusty 'point & shoot' camera with me, I've decided to enter 2 shots into a National Trust/Sunday Times photo competition. The annoying thing, is that you don't even get considered unless you get enough votes to get through to the judging round (which is a shame as there's some cracking photos on there). So... Can you all help me out by clicking on the links below and voting for both? If I get through to the judging round, and my photo's are deemed rubbish, so be it... 12. It's not the rule breaking that's the bad thing, it's more the fact that people are blatantly ignoring them when they know full well what the rules are. The banning will never be permanent, it's just the best way to show that the mods on TGTT enforce the rules... Besides, where would we be without Idrees on the forum?
  13. Bit more difficult for me to reply without appearing bias, so I'll say this... Many people don't really know what constitutes a good car. Many people think if the paintwork's shiny, and the engine's clean, it's a GREAT car. Add on a few modifications, and it's a FANTASTIC car. Those with a more mechanical nature would probably be able to spot some of the problems that could be apparent. Even those who think they know probably don't (unless they're a mechanic by trade, or take on along with them) , so remember two things... 1) Do your research on the seller first, and do it yourself (post
  14. He did indeed, we had a wee chat about all things Starlet in Tesco's! He had virtually the first red V in the UK... As for front cuts, I don't get them in I'm afraid (difficult to judge if it's been well looked after when there's only part of the car there). With the yen being so bad at the moment, I'd keep your eyes out for a UK breaker.
  15. I used to be over in the Dibden/Hythe area, but am now down in Devon...
  16. There's NO WAY you'd ever get me in that! I'm bad enough as a passenger in a normal car!!! :surrender:
  17. If it's registered, then it's OK. The paperwork has to be OK to get it registered. The only thing you'll never know is what the auction grade was (assuming it was even bought in auction)... Most imports don't come with paperwork (service history etc), so don't worry too much about it.
  18. Would have to agree with Cal (for once! ). WEPR ones always get good reviews...
  19. LOL, that's all good and well, but I still need to sell it in a recession for a decent sum considering that the exchange rate's making the final car cost more expensive... However... If it didn't sell, I'd be MORE than happy to drive it!
  20. What's the general consensus on AE86's? Hatch or booted Coupe? Reason I ask, is I've just been offered a scorching White, turbo'd Coupe with some mega mods, and am pondering on whether to bring it over...
  21. You still can't beat the old C64 games, such as Paradroid, Uriduim and Sanxion. Very playable games, and whilst basic compared to their modern-day counterparts, I would be more than happy to load one up and get cracking... Hhmmm... I feel a bargain hunt on ebay coming on... ;)
  22. Good to see you're enjoying her! Just take care in this weather, she's too rare to hurt!!!
  23. LOL, It's true mate, some people abuse it, but most are true to the game and only give rep when someone posts a worthwhile thread, or helps someone out. I think most people can judge if a person is worthy, so even if some tossbag has been bumping up someone's rep count, it doesn't take long before they're discovered as being inept, and hence their views disregarded. It works for some, and not for others...
  24. Well, they always say that 'what goes around comes around', so I guess it's good that people are now aware of the pitfalls in buying cars from so called 'specialists'. It's too easy to buy shite, spray some black shit in the engine, and call it a 'Grade 4' or a 'fresh import' as most people wouldn't know where to start to look for accident damage or cars with obvious problems. The problem's then amplified, as people think they've got a good car, and then start spreading feedback, and then more shite gets purchased. I feel sorry for Matt, as I don't believe this will be resolved. It's just
