There should be a bit at the bottom that click's into place like a ball joint.. Maybe its not locating properly...

Like said WD-40 or silicone spray for the top hose... When i fitted mine i found it easyer to fit the top hose befor putting rad in... -

Thats a nice little set up.. My friend has one, he's about 1year old now.. Here he is... I like to watch him chaseing crickets an locas's about, its funny when they have a stand off then all of a sudden he jump's for them...

That size tank is perfect for a new dragon, it mean's you dont have to change it as it gets bigger an it preffer's to stay in the same surroundings as it grown's. Changing the tank can piss it off a little... I do agree about gettin rid of the bulb, an get one that jus give's off heat, needs to be higher to, that one is a little low an he will clime on rock an burn himself as he gets bigger...
