  1. I think white smoke means it's burning water but im not 100% on that. Personally id give the engine a good service. New spark plugs, oil filter, air filter, flush out all the old oil and put some GTX magnatec in it. Then if it still is doing the same you might have a bigger problem. Bourkey
  2. Regardless of the consequences i would take Ragger's approach. If they have the right to kick wing mirrors off your car then you have the right to get friendly with their knee caps, hands, face and basically any part of them. I am very happy you did that Ragger. if i was with you no i would shake your hand I feel sorry for you Idrees. If you ever catch them make sure they get the beating they deserve or they will do it again. Bourkey
  3. What colour is the smoke??? Bourkey
  4. It was me honest!!!!!
  5. Hi mate, To get more BHP your gonna need to modify your engine in someway. You could get it mapped but if you have not had any performance parts on it i think it would be pointless (Don't take my word for it though). You could do small things like a less restrictive mani, decat, freeflowing throttle body, and a less restrictive flat panel filter. Someone with more knowledge may tell you more but i can't see there being much more. Hope this helps bud. Bourkey
  6. I will let you know if we me and Alex can attend this once payday has been. Then i can see how much i have to waste this month. Although i have a FMIC to get, half a holiday to pay for, mine and my girlfriends anniversary, my girlfriends birthday, Alton towers trip, the usual bills, Plus more as well probably. Im gonna rob a bank. ;) Bourkey
  7. Ahhh. Brings back memories of when i picked my first Starlet up. Good aren't they!! Add a corolla mani, induction kit, and a full exhaust system and you will be touching 100bhp. Really does open the car up in my opinion. Happy modding bud Bourkey
  8. Hi jimbo, Welcome to the club!!! Yes pretty much all the glanza parts will fit on a UK model. I don't think anyone has converted a UK 5 door before so if you were gonna do it you may be the first. You can get all the part number in our Part Numbers section as all the parts are available brand new from toyota. Or you could try and find a glanza that is being broken up and take the parts off that. There is actually one or two being broken on ebay i think. Enjoy your stay. Bourkey Ps. Get some pics of your ride up in the Members cars section.
  9. Well i didn't expect this argument to come up again like this. I've done some research on the company and the wheels as i could not write this otherwise as i haven't ever owned a set therefore i've never had any problems. From what i have read from their own site and many other sites, Rota make 50,000 + wheels a month. They vary in design but are familiar as they are copies of well known (and very popular) JDM wheels. They are very nice looking wheels and look the part very well. Even though they are visually very nice designs there is clearly some manufacturing or quality control problems with Rota, as you have all seen. The pictures speak for themselves really. A wheel should never completely break like that. It could easily kill someone and isn't very good publicity. I have read of around 50+ cases on the web regarding this type of failure and they are just the ones i have found. But a very large percentage of these is in some form of motorsport where the wheel is put under a lot of stress. And it seems to be the designs with a thinner more delicate set of spokes. I think all the pictures should be sent to Rota to look at as they may take notice of what is happening before someone gets hurt. I personally would not get the wheels as i wouldn't want to take the risk (even though they produce 50,000 a month and only a few dozen have failed) as it could happen to any of their wheels. I wouldn't poke at people who have them though as they may have a perfectly good set. You hear all the time of people having them for years with no problems. So PLEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE stop this daft banter on this subject. PS. Rick you have a PM regarding those red lipped volks!!!!

  11. Horwich is about a 20min drive from where i live. So how come i've never seen this place. It looks minted for taking some good car pics there. We will have to arrange a little mini photoshoot there sometime. Bourkey
  12. Hmmmmm sounds pretty dam good to me. It's on my to buy list now as i planned to leave it stock for a good while but i have decided to up the power on the engine slowly but surely. Not really got a figure im aiming for i just want more. Cheers for your help. Bourkey
  13. Im very interested in one of these and have been for a couple of weeks now. Im thinking of getting on when my new engine has done a couple of thousand miles. Summer time hopefully. What things do you HAVE to have to run it. I will already have a front mount and HKS dump valve and probably a decat and mani aswell. How do they change the car and what sort of power increase would they give on my setup. Cheers Bourkey
  14. Excellent point there!!!! I've just got a quote for my weels to be Refurbed. I wanted a red lip but a few companies have said it's quite complicated to get right and if they were to do it then it would be pretty expensive. So i've asked for a gloss black centre with the lip re-polished and it came to.......................................£300!!!! Im considering new wheels for that price but then again i still really like my rims so im undecided. Unless someone offers me some decent rims at a good price i may go with the refurb. Plus... I checked my tyres today aswell and going over speed bumps every day has had a very bad effect on my tracking as the inside of the tyre is pretty bald. So new tyres, refurb and tracking. Im gonna be skint soon!!!!! So if anyone has a decent wheel and tyre combo for sale i may consider it. Bourkey
  15. I know it will. It's what keeps me going. As for the intercooler i'll be getting the HDI one here. Im not 100% sure about needing to cut the front bumper but im pretty sure i will need to trim it a little for it fit right. Im not really fussed about losing some of the bumper as i want a good intercooler so it means trimming the bumper then so be it. I really need it in soon though as i switched the car on today to move it and a massive plume of blue smoke came out of the exhaust. It stops when i start driving but the weeks of thrashing it as im getting the engine, are now beginning to show. I think im getting less than 270 miles per tank driving sensibly. That isn't right for an n/a. I think i'll be using less petrol with the new turbo'd engine. When i get a fitting date i'll be happy.
  16. Errrrrrrrmmmmmmmm......No
  17. For fook sake. This website is such a bad influence on my bank balance. You all insist on spending my money. ***Translates Into*** Put me down for an N/A one. Bourkey
  18. I can't wait for the big update either!!! I've a big gap in mybank account with nothing to show for it. Im just desperate to get it in now. If i had the funds it would be in the day it arrives. Patience will pay off in the end though. I can't wait until the first rev of it. Bourkey
  19. Looking mint Sparky!!!!!! Wouldn't mind seeing this for real sometime. Also swap that poor excuse of a rear wiper for a slick yaris one or a punto one. Bourkey
  20. Very nice Rick. Top Tip....Please Wash It. I know you wont though
  21. Hi all, Well it's been a couple of months since i did some sort of an update so i though i'd pull my thumb out this weekend and give you one. This year im going for a more JDM look. I've taken away the rear tinted lights and gone for some standard ones until i can be bothered ordering some reflet ones. I've also put the standard wing indicators on and the standard front indicators on as well. Also i took my wheels off today to give them a proper clean and noticed my drums were looking a bit rusty so i wire brushed them down and added a fresh coat of black paint to smarten them up. I also have taken some of the mounts under the bonnet like the radiator ones and painted them red. The car will be a red and black colour mix now. As some of you may know im also getting the lip of my wheels done red or if anyone has these sort of wheels i will gladly swap. The paintwork at the front isn't looking it's best due to the motorway miles i've been doing and the winter months. So the bonnet and bumper at the front will be gettting a fresh coat of paint in the next few weeks from the bodydshop where Alex used to work. I may even lose the bar in the bottom opening to show of my front mount when it's fitted. Anyway here are a couple of pics of what my SR currently looks like... I will be getting my engine in a week or two so i'll put some pics of it up here. Then hopefully my car will start moving along quickly in the next few months. Bourkey
  22. Just a small selection of cars that pass my work on a daily basis
  23. I HAVE GLASS!!! TEXT ME!!!
  24. Sorry but im not loving the fox alloys but apart from that it's a minter!!!! What plans do you have for it?? Welcome to the club Bourkey
  25. It's a starlet..... It will take a hell of a lot to make it break down. At the moment mine has cheapo asda oil in it which it is currently burning at 2 litres a month, Blue smoke comes out when i start it or rag it hard, oil valve seals have pretty much gone and it has a tiny oil leak. Plus it's done 93k. AND still it runs fine..ish and still pulls hard just as i like it. Your probably thinking im nuts but im getting a new 4EFTE turbo engine put in shortly. If you havn't been on the motorway before or very little then like people said take you time. Vision is everything. If you don't look properly when changing lanes especially in your blind spot then your gonna end up with a big smash. My dad takes the piss about how careful i am at changing lanes. Motorway driving is extremely easy as you dont have to look out for people crossing the road or people pulling out of a side road. The hardest bit is coming on when no fecker will move out the way to get on. I'll have to do this once my car is sorted as i love it too. Have fun matey. Bourkey
