  1. clutch release bearing £25 http://www.tm-developments.com/index.php?m...products_id=437 bought one on tuesday - as i had the same problem and got to the point where the bearing completely collapsed which meant that it was in neutral all the time as it was propper fucked, get it done asap before you become stranded for four hours like i was !!!!!

  9. you need the 3e flywheel which has the 5e crank pattern and the 4e clutch pattern !! its the conversion flywheel that dave sells - you can also redrill the 4e flywheel so that it fits but i wouldnt do it

  13. yep as riko says + the extra 200cc will help with spool up and overall power - it will still rev hard to 6500 - that will be enough lol

  15. i am hoping to be running 1.5 bar when its all done and run in - hoping to be hitting 300 bhp with spool up around the 3k mark that s a different one i have lying about that i got for a mate and now he doesnt want it lol
  16. i have been collecting parts since my engine blew up ready to get my forged 5e up and running - got everything i need now apart from my ported and polished head/ rods and bearings ;) i am getting excited - should be done and running in the next week or two i cant wait

  22. Right then guys, where do I begin . . . I first bought my car in December 08 after driving it back from manchester I decided to get some new brakes so i bought EBC discs and green stuff pads. I was happy with the purchase and when coming to fit them and checking the rest of the brakes I had realised that the back calipers were seized and also that the handbrake cables were fuuked. After getting it back from the garage and driving it around for a couple of months i came across 3 major problems. 1. The left handside caliper was missing a pad clip and caused the pad to rub constantly on the disc which wore the pad all the way to the metal and scored the disc. 2. The most pain in the arse problem ever - Heater matrix ! :holdit: anyone thats had to do this before knows what im on about ! See pik: My Dad in the pik lol - and notice the snow as i was doing it lol. It took around 12 hours over 2 weeks !!! and I did it all myself ! Whilst it was out i decided to get the interior re-done - and put it all back together again 3. This being the more serious - I started to hear a blowing noise, at first i couldnt find where it was coming from and after some investigation i found that the cylinder head had a fuk off massive crack in it which the previous owner neglected to mention but obviously knew about as it had been puttyd up. I re-puttyd it to keep it going till i could source a new head and get it fitted. Managed to get a head and it was fitted whilst i was on holiday. I now thought "fucking awesome - lets get some modding done" very dangerous . . . At the time the head was changed it was fully serviced so i thought it would be fine - So i changed the 17" rims for some 15" ones and gave it a nice clean and took some piks: 3 weeks and 1000 miles later i was proved very wrong. Was driving back from football to my girls house and i have to go cross country roads to get there and it was around 11 and dark, no cars so i was driving a bit quicker than usual and BANG engine cut and couldnt be started . . . . . shit. Stranded in a field 5 miles from anywhere 12 o'clock at night 1 bar of battery on my phone - gutted. Got my dad to tow me home 7 miles with a nakkerd old 6 ft rope and i had no lights or brakes wasnt fun at all and i was well pissed off :mad: I posted on here as to what may be the problem - and as usual plenty of help and support As feared - it was the bottom end I had found that there was no oil in the engine so i put a few litres in it and it started, on slight revs there was a very loud knocking noise and it was shaking the entire engine. In 2 words - absolubtly fucked Next day a man with a low loader came - the car didnt even have enough power to drive up onto it so it had to be winched The decision was made to go forged i got a set of wiseco pistons and scat rods from Dave :eek: Look at the standard issue Cadburys rods compared to the scats !!! :haha: When the car got to the garage we managed to take out the engine and strip it within a day ! Standard Engine ! The block then went off to be honed to suit the 0.5mm oversize, the engineers fucked about abit and we waited for 4 weeks in all. it didnt help that I had to get a new crank aswell as mine needed far 2 much taken off ! So in the mean time we decided to cut out the bumper and fit the mocal oil cooler kit and fmic !!! We finally got all the bits back and started cleaning and painting the block and then notching it and sitting the pistons and rods in ready to be fitted I left Ryan to it and started cleaning up the bay Quick update just to show bits of work that were done last week, including 90% of the engine being built and my home made gauge holder Forged Engine Bit of an update: I had a livesports style lip sorted and sen to me - thought that it would go well with the cut out bumper and an air filter relocation kit from mike Picture of my custom gauge holder that i made, fitted nicely Quick shot of the engine bay, i will get some better ones in a bit as i have made it even more nice and tidy And some piks of the car UPDATE for td04 piks An off focus shot of the bay Nice and Clean - looking good MORE BODY MODS Also I've got this meaty beast to go in !!! also with the light weight flywheel and fitted these Major update coming soon got these bits to go on Varis rear, full Aluminium Rad/2 spall fans, heat wrap, arp headbolts 550cc injectors BANG and the car is fucked . . . . again nice bits of metal on the sump plug the bearing decided it didnt want to sit on the crank anymore slight bit of discolouration haha Just bought a 5e - i am gunna get this mofo forged up all stripped and ready to be forged once its clean :) Watch this space right then after the past few weeks of not being able to get much done i picked up all my engine parts from the engineering shop yesterday (who are mint to say the least- you will see what i mean !) got all the bits prepped and block painted etc, and today i cracked on with the build with some guidence from my good mate who owns a garage. i had the whole of the rotating assembly balanced up perfectly and all the bore work done, acid dipping etc and also had a load of headwork done. they have ported and polished the inlet and exhaust ports and gas flowed it, and also took some material away from around the valves. im using wossner pistons and FRS jap speca rods lol acl duraglide bigs and main with jun thrust washers and everything is torqued up with arp bolts(conrod caps main caps and the head) and im using an athena 1.2mm hg

  24. hi bud i have got the inlet manifold off a 5e paseo which has a small plenum and longer runners which in theory should give you better response on a normally aspirated engine !!!
