  1. hi the adapter is just to size the disc to fit the hub dia centre hole . the disc i suggested should fit straight on without the need for spacers to centre disc in to the caliper( i fouhd the std celica didn`t do this )i also wanted to avoid having the wheels sit only on the studs i sat the std disc inside the celica caliper when fitted &moved it around until it was central in the caliper the difference was exactly the thickness of spacer thus i reduced the offset/ height of disc by this thus saving the need for a spacer &the wheels sitting om studs only i hope this clarifies my reasoning you will seewhat i mean once you do a trial fit with the std disc i found the celica &the starlet to have the same offset any way i forgot to mention this was all done with parts avail in australia in case the import UK parts are different lyle
  2. hi i`m in the process of using the ST185 calipers in a brake up-grade i couldn`t find corolla ones . i foud that the ST185 disc suggested in DIY & spacer suugested to not be suitiable (the disc heights/offset is wrong &spacer sets the wheel to hang on the wheel studs not good me thinks ) i went looking for a disc that is bgger in dia &with the right offset found the RDA679 to be the one that matched my measurements ( std 238mm up-grade 260mm the max size that will fit inside the caliper &wheel without mods to mount). only thing needed was an adapter to match disc 66mm to starlet 55mm not a spacer so disc fits in original position on hub . i haven`t fitted any thing yet so info is measurements only do a trial fit &you will see what i encountered( it doesnt just work the way the guide says ) the std disc is too deep it need to be less by the thicknees of the spacer i`m going to post a detailed DIY guide as soon as i have fitted them on &they work satisfatorly but so far i reckon i`m onthe right track . june /july @ this point just some thing i found so far in my up -grade hope this doesn`t put you off lyle

  5. Hi i`ve been a member for a while now, posted /shopped / &contributed . noticed that people seem to generally to build a project then suddenly start stripping the vehicle for resale instead of trading it in on another vehicle or selling as a going concern (i`ve seen some advertised ) i guess this keeps the supply of parts up but makes it hard if you want a complete car .is there more cars than people wanting them we break some in AU but more are traded/swapped on . i know i would find it hard to spend my time on a project then strip -it to sell i would rather an enthusiast acquired it to enjoy post your thoughts i`m curious lyle
  6. hi sounds like you turned a simple job into a major mess . i have just done the exact same job with no hassle ,there is no need to remove the rail or injectors , i found enough room to work socket/rachet handle behind mani &i don`t have little hands either . i fitted mani &T/B & retuned gained 5 kw = 6.7 hp , i now have 80hp ATW. ea mod is getting me closer to the magic 100hp ATW sorry to hear you had a disasterous up-grade, hope you get it sorted soon lyle
  7. hi $2 a litre is nothing . it is $2.70 a lite where i live @ milingimbi lyle
  8. hiabout that extractor. Where can you buy them from go to http://www.pacemaker.com.au/index.html & select a dealer they are readily availiable in australia. Have you thought of getting matching black glanza side skirts?? Wud complete the look! have already fitted colour -matched skirts trimmed with black chip-proof paint underneath skirt , used to paint rocker panel black in the old days , trend seems to have moved on &you don`t see too much black on rocker panels lyle
  9. hi WOW back end looks pretty much what mine looked like! Is it a carbon spoiler? it`s not a carbon fibre, i left it the original colour , it`s a deep black with a silver sparkle in it , it seems to match the blue well. I like the exhaust manifold what one is it? they are "pacemaker" extractors . you`ve probably heard of them. they are flanged to a 2in stainless exhaust shop built system lyle
  10. hi what are the tyre profiles? 195 50 15 and have you lowered it? slghtly cheers lyle

  15. hi recently purchased a set forged rods from garbla900 on this forum. it was a pleasure to do business with this member i certainly happy with the way he conducted the sale &the tmely manner in which parcel was delivered (recieved today) lyle
  16. hi i hope i picked the right forum for this i know some of you will ask why does he need a longer cable . yes i do with my current set-up . when i re-welded the flange on my corolla mani i used a short piece of pipe to allow for welds ,i was a little generous with my allowance . has anyone found a cable that is b/ween 50mm to 100mm longer that will replace the starlet cable, part no or model ???? thanks lyle
  17. hi i`m not able to do weight comparsions @this time parts haven`t all arrived @i`m out of town @the moment . as the disc is larger in dia (260mm)&thicker(22mm) as well than the puny little starlet disc (238x18mm)there will be a weight disadvantage the caliper is also bigger . it is probably not the most weight concious conversion . but if it works it is way cheaper than a performance kit off the shelf &parts can are more readily avail if you need replacements especially in my case but will post more info later lyle
  18. hi to all those looking for a twin pot conversion (using ST-185 CELICAcalipers )i am doing one very slowly &will rewrite a DIY guide . basic it will use a disc without spacer as i found spacer req in current guide is incorrect &actual fit to the STD EP-91 would have your wheels hanging on LONG wheel studs. so i have foud a replacement that will fit straight on without spacer & use donut to adapt the new disc instead (less machining &drilling) so when i have fitted &tested the whole kit , (i am in the measured&check to see if it fits stage @the moment }. parts are all ordered i will post my new DIY KEEP WATCH FOR UPDATE lyle
  19. hi i am going the N/A Pathway microtech &retuned N/A std internals / 2in s/less exhaust &extractors std out put =48kwatw final =54.4 kwatw have corolla mani &7afe T/B ready to fit . haven`t done any mods to head or c/shafts have looked @c/shafts but not sure the gain will make the mod worthwhile .unless i can buy already set-up reshimming the shafts seems like a nightmare if you don`t have access to a set of shims & i don`t have a spare head lyle
  20. hi all sorted now i have part no`s &have ordered thanks lyle
  21. hi i`m getting ready to fit the 7-afe T/B &noticed a 3rd fitting beside the 2 water pipes on the bottom of the throttle body which is sensor controlled vacuum called idle control. i dont recall seeing this sensor or fitting on the N/A 4efeT/B body????( i haven`t got the car nearby@the moment ) do i just block it off if there is no direct connection or where would it normally connect to on the 7afe engine ?? can anyone confirm if i need it or not i have a microtech fitted so some of the idle control functions are limited thanks lyle
  22. hi does anyone have the part no`s to fit the corolla mani/ 7afe T/B combo to fit to a N/A4efe thanks lyle
