  1. bummer. at least with the money you save on petrol can be spent elsewhere. i fancy a full respray in matt grey and a few minor stone dints took out down the side. they didn't bother me at first but now they wind me up. will look sweet when you get it back on the streets then. keirz
  2. didn't know it was off the road mate. what happenned to it?
  3. washers it was mate. i used about 4 and all together its about 1.5 cm. needed longer bolts but if you get some which are 1.5 cm longer its sound. you only have to do it to the top bolt on each bracket aswell. if you do it let me know if you can feel a difference, cuz if not i must be imagining it!
  4. finally got photoshop and decided to create my dream glanza. bit amature as im still trying to master it but i don't think its too bad an effort for a learner. This is exactly the look i will be going for when my day finally comes!!
  5. its what every n/a owner dreams about (saving is a very long process!). very nice mate. got any plans for it?
  6. new pics of my latest mods. in my attempts to reduce engine tempuratures ive fitted thermo tec heat wrap and raised my bonnet. next is the new air filter and cooling panel, soon hopefully.
  7. very easy mate. i just used a hair dryer and then any left over glue i just buffed off with scratch remover and electric buffer. ive heard petrol is good for glue removal (would'nt try untill confermed). mine was sound with no color difference behind it and all glue came off. worth a try mate. cheers mate, keiran
  8. thought i would give you a face to the name. this is me on the right, with my bro and his mate in ayia napa a few month back.
  9. that would prob look ok, if it was done right. but round my way ive seen a few variations to this on crap cars which looks absoloutly shocking. seen one on a 205. he just choped a massive hole in his bonnet and had a cheapo filter sticking out. people from notts may have seen this shed, i pissed myself laughing at it. just want something a little more heat protected.
  10. i am thinking of putting it back down now, as im getting sick off people telling me ive left my bonnet open. it does seem to help with engine cooling and at above 40mph with the air rushing through you can feel the car breathing better and does feel a bit nippier. water has been splashing in all over my alarm and fuse box. also my strut brace and alloy induction pipe are covered in water marks. not good. i was thinking of the solonoid idea or also just like hinge that i could just push and pull up and down. will try and get my mind in gear for a solution, cuz i like the extra performance and
  11. thanks for the opinions, my wheels are 7" wide so prob rubs cuz of that. what is a good offset for starlets. i think mine are 40mm. the new 15s are 40mm as well and also 7" wide but i guess the extra half inch in the arch should stop the rubbing. will make it look more jap style as well.
  12. can i have more info on the arch trimming. cuz took it to my bodyshop and they said it can't be done cuz of welding of the outer and inner panel. he could be lying but i can see where hes coming from. i had a look today with the hacksaw in hand, but could'nt find an angle of attack so left it. cheers
  13. if this is the same problem i had you need to set up a photo bucket on www.photobucket.com. its free. and post the picture via the insert image. you just copy and paste the url in. hope this helps mate.
  14. ok being as indecisive as i am im unsure whether to change my alloys. the ones on the back are my current ones 16s that rub slightly. the front are 15s which are the ones i am thinking of gettting. opinions please,as i have changed my mind about 10 times now. also any insite into the benifits of the lightweight 15s over the 16s . thanks
  15. thanks i will have a play about. nice one.
  16. quick question about the signiture thingys that come up on the bottom of most peoples posts. what size do they need to be, cuz got photo shop now and gonna have a crack at it. look out for my photoshoped future glanza coming soon.
  17. ok, raised my bonnet at the back today to help with cooling. i know its a bit uneeded on an n/a but it looks very good. very simple to do aswell. but now its raining bad and i was wondering if this will cause any problems because of the gaps. is it nothing to worry about or do i have to take preventive measures. cheers keirz.
  18. i have a universal back box on mine. not too difficult all you need is a step down pipe cuz the bore for the exhaust is usually much larger than the starlet pipe, this will cost around £10 - £20. all i did was chop the original standard pipe before the back box and joined it on there. then made a bracket to hold it in place. may require the assistance of trained machanic, but it can be done. prob not the best plan if your main objective is performance, something about back pressure??? im no expert. will make a wicked noise though. hope this helps. keirz
  19. turbo conversion was top of my list and i have the money for it now, seen the one on fensport and my cousin would fit it. my car has quite high miles and paintwork isn't perfect. then there is always insurance, im being robbed now so soon as i mention turbo conversion they would prob wet themselves. the money is being saved for a glanza. got good plans for one which involves lots of carbon fiber, and not so much interior. should have the money in about 6 months, if i manage to curb the spending on my n/a. keirz
  20. Cheers mate. i will give it a miss then, cuz my car is loud enough at the minute and if its just gonna be extra noise and no power gains its not really worth it. think il save the money for something more important, like going to the pub.
  21. cheers, think i'll give the scaffolding a miss. would there be a noticible difference in power with the de-cat or will it just be louder. been told it may add about 10bhp but also been told it will only be a couple.
  22. quick question, will a de-cat pipe made for a glanza fit on an n/a model. and if so will anything else need to be purchased to fit it. keirz
  23. thought it sounded dodgy. carbon one it is then. raid hp make one for the starlet now so prob order it.
  24. ive got infinitys as well, acompanied by a mutant sub, amp, mutant components and tweeters. it sounds class for a budget system and would highly recommend them. if you set the levels up right then the 6x9s wont be drowned out and the sub will just be there for back up on the big base drops. keirz
  25. that shits crazy. would love to try that but think il let someone else do a test run first as im a bit weary of the implication to the engine and confused as to how it works. would be cool though.
