Was it bought off ebay? Did he test drive it? how long has he had it? As far as any cars i've sold once cash and documents are exchanged then tough shit if it breaks down 5 seconds or 5 years later! If he never test drove it and checked it though out then thats his tough crap in my opinion. My brakes screech if i've been caning it everywhere,i would tell him to politely fuck off or you will be talking to the police. ;)

A full respray would be very expensive,i.e. seats,carpets,engine etc out then prepped and sprayed.£2000-2500 would be a reasonable price.If on the other hand you mean just the exterior of the car then £1500 would be a reasonable cost,any less then i would think twice about using them as they would probably cut corners,you then have a nice respray for 6 months then you end up with what my car looks like now after a cheap job,laquer peeling paint not flatted properly,overspray etc.Get some examples of their work before commiting to anything. ;)

Theres gonna be a nice big oil slick on your driveway if you pop it outa the gearbox though might wanna have sumthin to catch the oil in.

As your not going thru insurance i assume the other guy is paying for it all??? If not why not????? would it not be easier to ring some breakers yards get the replacement bits in black and fit them yourself and get the dent removed and sprayed at a paint shop?

nasty to be honest it dont look that bad to me,new door and pop that dent back out ,bit of a polish,job done! I take it your going thru his insurance?

Yeah mate i know they aren't all that good at stopping a theif,but if your car and mine are parked next to each other and yours has no visible security device who's car's most likely gonna at least be damaged in an attempt to steal it? Speed is needed to steal a car,having to saw thru the steering wheel takes up time that most theives dont wanna waste,risking getting caught.

If i ever decide to rob a bank i'll be round your house the night before! No-one would expect a tea leaf to be drivin a green 5 door starlet! ;) Personally i always have a cat 1 alarm fitted as a first mod so i get lower insurance premiums and i can sleep at night knowing my car is as safe as i can reasonably make it! I also use a stoplok,not a huge expense but may mean the difference between my car or the next doors car bein nicked!
