  1. Is this possible at all? Now I've bypassed it and removed the engine bay piping it seems pointless having it there, is it okay to remove and unplug it like the lightweight models or what? CheerS
  2. Yeah I've heard a night pager before, does blow on idle but the sound when it hits full boost is amazing, quite tempted tbh

  4. Saying that iddy, I have my suspicions mine is a Replica as usually the replicas Come with that flange pictured above, yet mine holds boost perfect? Suppose it depends on the actual one you get though?
  5. Sorry to be a pain, which ac bits can you remove from the inlet mani? Don't want to leave unnecessary bits in there?
  6. I would say maybe that piping? Is it deffo a genuine hks? Although the reps are usually pretty good anyway. Try to rev it from the throttle body while your under the bonnet, this may reveal any leaks, although not guaranteed as you aren't reaching much boost pressure at standstill
  7. Nah it's direct to the inlet Mani mate using the original source, boost gauge is teed off the little sensor on the bulkhead? An yeah my filter kit should be fitted soon so I'll see what it's like then It still sounded different on a standard tmic and filter setup to the other ssqvs I've heard even replicas, mines a longer chirp than other ones I've heard for some reason, weird
  8. I can send you my little plate I Made if that's any better lol? And how do you mean? The baileys should use the original record valves vac line, and put a breather filter onto the rocker cover, then if you've got a boost gauge tee it off from the boost pressure sensor or something mate
  9. It also won't fit a uk spec well because of the headlights and bonnet
  10. Turbo? Mines doing the same and have been told it may be early signs of the turbo seals?
  11. Turn up your boost then try boot it loo, you will soon find out. On a serious not I wouldn't recommend this, partly because it's not good for your engine and partly because fuel cut is an unpleasant shock when you hit it lol

Yeah I know aky, I just worry invade when it does go bad it is something internal lol And yeah that's what I'm hoping Micky, most signs Point to it, the Only things that don't are no oil in the turbo, although there was a little In the cooler pipes, also the fact it does do it when I start it up and let it warm up, but even though I leave it ten mins It's not exactly warm even though the water temps warm, or is it?

I've been monitoring the smoke, and it deffo seems to be more on idle than when driving, or more noticeable at least Doesn't seem to do it in first startup during the day, started it up this afternoon after leavin it about an hour, let it warm up, and it only smoked after warmin it up and getting in and pressing the throttle? It's not a lot of smoke at all, and only does it for a few seconds

  19. Mileage on turbo, any shaft play or smoke issues, and how much for just decat and turbo?
  20. That doesn't look a fresh import, the invoice is different to the company selling it, also that underside looks to have surface rust you wouldn't find on a fresh import. Having said that though it does look clean enough, and that invoice is from the same Company who imported mine, and everything's legit
  21. Ive had the turbo off mate, nothing on intake or exhaust wheels just a tiny bit in intercooler pipe which I hear is normal? Driver, that may be a point, does that mean there's some wear somewhere or is it okay? Could maybe try some thicker or semi oil as I run 5w 40 fully synth John, ah that's fair enough, if it turns out to be the turbo I won't be overly bothered, just as long as its not internal like rings or stem seals

Ah I see daniel, yeah thats maybe an idea but as you say streetracer it really isnt that bad, its faint blue smoke not a cloud, and so i could swap the turbo with a mate and it not do it in that time even if it is something else lol, I think as you all say though hopefully it is the turbo over any of the worse things, will keep an eye on it I think....my only worry is why was there no oil all over the turbo?

RIght then, UPDATE time: Since fitting a decat I've noticed the smoke more often, now it mainly seems to be on warm idle, or giving it a rev, It has done it once when I let the car to warm up for ten mins, then when I got in and revved as I set off it smoked a bit, aside that it mainly seems to do it on warm idle, especially after giving it a bit of a boot, then if I pull up somewhere and leave it running. Have had a comp test done and all cylinders were exactly the same, I would assume turbo but when fitting the decat there was no oil on it, a slight bit in the intercooler pipes though when I took it off to fit the fmic. Ive also looked down the spark plug holes and no oil on the piston tops as somebody said there would be with a valve seal issue, car has done approx 65k. Any ideas?
