  1. Yeah, I think you could write a book about it called "Failings by the Organisers"! Chapter one: What is a RED FLAG for?
  2. ...and a wider caliper to take the "ventedness", thicker than the solid discs etc....
  3. Is the piston turning nice and freely? I use a angle-grinder pin spanner when winding MR2 rear pistons back in, JUST fits but if the piston was smaller it would drop off. I assume the handbrake cable is off? (had to ask!!! )
  4. http://www.eblogx.com/Videos--Schwerer-Seegang-16957.html Not my ideal way to travel!
  5. So have you got it run in yet? Any other goodies fitted?
  6. I can't speak for the others, but we matched the piston area on the WMS calipers to the EP ones so there's only a 6.6% increase in area. This 6.6% plus the bigger discs plus the better pads (£ for £) is where the WMS kit gets it's increased power (braking torque at the hub per PSI in the fluid). The pedal should feel about the same, it's designed to work with the std master-cyl and you won't need to push the pedal hard anyway, trust me! Hope that helps!
  7. That's the Yamaha-designed BEAMS version of the 3SGE, loads more powerful and very rare. Late MK2 MR2s (JDM only?) and the Lexus Altezza RS200 (not the IS200). It's the engine I want, 230bhp as standard when chipped, 2.0 nat-asp, not even a fragile 20v either!
  8. Make sure you get any rust scale off the carrier under the stainless clips that hold the pads - it can build up to over 1.0mm thick at which point it locks the pad in place solid!

  12. Saw it earlier today - doing the rounds I think! Mad, I like the bit where he slows down and "drops" off the banking.... Reminds me of the time I fell down the banking at Brooklands like a tit when I was a kid!
  13. Here's the bit of the Alps you need: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&sour....916382&z=8 Also it turned out that the tiny B&B we stayed at is owned by Sabine Schmitz's dad and her stuff is on the walls, plus the main family business is a beer distributor - you get get it off them by the crate! Amazing place.
  14. Oh, and get German ADAC cover (like the AA on steroids), as because they are the guys who the 'ring use to recover broken cars you don't have to pay the 175 euro or whatever fee for that part. They will also recover you from anywhere in europe to your home....inluding the UK. About £60 or £90 rings a bell?
  15. lol - mass trip! The more cars go, the less tools each car needs - we take EVERYTHING (I had axel stands and the trolley jack behind the MR2's seats!)... Budget.....painful. The bro's have done ring long weekenders before and reckon on £350-500 per trip per car... I probably went into four figures...but we were beign crap with hotels etc, if we had pre-booked places we'd have saved hundreds. We found ourselve in Switzerland trying to find a hotel and the Swiss Franc was just raping us, like 13.00 franks for a McDonalds which is like £8.27. Hotel rooms were 150 franks for a
  16. Was pretty ok actually, I was surprised has easy the miles were in the MR2 - but I suppose that is it's job at the end of the day. My brothers both had coilovers and one had race seats (stripped Ford Puma!!!), so they took it a lot more than me!!! I'd love to fit a V6 to a stripped JDM tin-top and do it again, more room for my helmet on track if there's no sunroof or T-Bar crap in the way, I'd get air con and "GT" goodies that way.
  17. Cheers! Got a few more, these were taken by my brother, it's my gf driving and me as passenger saying "left - right - long left - slower - more power again" etc and waving cars by! As for how bad the weather REALLY was on day 2, here's another guy who was out in his Civic at the same time (not our video!!!): (also this one looks like it was shot earlier in the day when it was "just damp", sooooo easy to drop it: ) More Alps, check this out for a fun road:
  18. PM sent, if anyone's totally stuck just PM me your postal address and I'll send you a 1:1 printout....but you'll have to do the cutting out with scissors bit yourself as it drives me mad!
  19. The WMS 4-pot kits are another option, being direct-fit! Have a peek here or PM me if you need info etc: http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index.php?showforum=234
  20. Probably a bit late, but the WMS kits fit under most 15" wheels as well with no spacers, feedback has been great so far...
  21. UK > France > Switzerland (Alps) > Italy > Austria (Alps) > Germany (Nurburgring) > Netherlands > Belguim > France > UK! Left the ring at mid day, got home for dinner - hard-core-miles that afternoon (5 countries in ONE DAY ), average was like 460miles/day when on the move. MR2 and gf in the Alps! Shot looking at the 6" grass verge while driving.....DOWN onto a smaller mountain and a glacier!!! Scary shit!!! Last-minute sighting lap on day one, then we went to the pub. Wish I'd stayed out in the dry now!!! Only got one more lap due to the heavy rain
  22. Really sorry to hear that Sparky - only just logging on again after the trip....
