Having a few electrical problems with my ep70 conversion, instrument cluster is dead with no lights, when i turn the key the big red relay clicks in the fuse box but nothing else happens. I reckon its down to bad earths, I need to know where all the earth points are in the engine bay and also in behind the dash if anyone can remember. How many are there and positions please , pictures would be handy Thanks

Hey Enzo I made up a guide on how to swap out the diff with an LSD and documented the diff, not sure if its the same on a ep85 but this is an ep82. http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index....p;hl=Quaife+LSD or here (same one ) http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showth...rket-Quaife-LSD Craig

Yeah i am curious to find out that too! and yes so far I haven't had to make anything custom, had to drill the suspension bolt holes about 2mm bigger but thats it. Driveshafts fit fine, track rod ends and hubs all fit with no messing around. I stripped the Ep82 and i found it ruined the car to the point I didnt like driving it as a daily, it was so noisy and bumpy it ruined it unless it was on a track, i want a motor i can go on the track and cheesin in too

What would a day be without more updates Plugged in 80% of the engine, hooked up the suspension, coilovers, brakes, lines, changed a duff track rod end for an EP82 one (they are different, check out video) and put on the steel wheels to have a look at what the suspension sits like. I havent changed the rear yet only the front, but it gives a good idea on how she looks. I think it looks bloody mint already and strangely i havent really done anything, just changed the ride height and bigger wheels. Yummy! Before After (should look even sweeter once i fit the rear coilovers, ran out of ti

Unless they really cocked it up, sounds like something could be loose, get the wheels off and check the two bolts onto your suspension and hub, the track rod ends are tight and also the 3 bolts on the bottom. Check both sides should only take you 30mins Or easier still take it back to the garage and tell them it drives dangerously since you took it there and it aint right.

Hey Siiii Welcome to the club, I am currently doing a build on my EP70 at the moment (the 1st link above) and I am putting in a ep82 (Starlet GT quad light) turbo engine in. From the work i have done so far its a straight swap and fits without having to do any welding etc onto the original engine mounts. Of course you will need to change the loom too but its a great engine to put in and will go like poop off a shovel! I have been doing a video diary of the build too which is split into parts so you can check it out too for help Any questions im your man hey post up some pics and we will

Just trying to work out the weight of my ep70, the vin plate is printed 1 - 650kg 2 - 750kg What the hell does this mean and why does it state two weights for the car, could someone clear this up? At first i thought it meant dry weight vs wet weight but even with adding 1. Battery 2. Full tank of fuel 3. Oil in engine 4. Coolant 5. Misc fluids surely this wouldnt take the weight up by 100kg? Can someone explain why its got two weights stamped?

Mine makes 201bhp TD04L with the stock ecu at 0.86bar with supporting fueling mods, i reckon i could get another 25-30hp if i changed the ecu.

Anyone else notice TGTT seems to be run poorly lately?

sigh still waiting on my membership to be made active! grrrrr -
sorry dude havent used HID's before

Errrrmm my next task is to start plugging everything back in on the engine bay, so thats fairly easy, gotta change over the suspension and the rest of the stuff so its more labour intensive rather than complicated. The only two hurdles i need to jump are a few bits and pieces with the electrics rigging up dials and quite a biggy is the petrol tank. The petrol tank in the EP70 is designed for a carb car so its no good for a turbo charged car as its not baffled and will promote fuel surge (air in the fuel lines, which is bad for the engine) (plus the fuel pump wont fit in it). So i have got a

Had a break in the rain this evening and the sun came out for an hour so ran out to do some work on the car, every time i look out the window i feel like i need to do work on it I have have managed to get the 3rd final engine mount in without drilling anything, which i am bloody well chuffed with, didnt think it was gonna fit, but it just needed LOTS of persuasion with a jack Well chuffed. So engine is in on the mounts, I also removed the now redundant power steering pump, belt and brackets, so more power to the crank which was not only heavy as hell but made loads more room in the engine

ah bummer 270 miles from Swansea is a bit to far for me i am afraid -
Have a look at the pulley on your car now, if it has bolts to unbolt it or looks like a fixed type as shown here, you will know http://www.camskill.co.uk/m19b0s1301p4223/...za_Turbo_Models

Yes your right about change, people usually cant be arsed to learn somthing new but looking at that example i can see what you mean now. Should look good when its done, i look forward to submitting my own guides i have done over the past few years! -

Wouldnt it be more simple to keep it within the UKSC website, i dont think anything would need to change except a Categorised structure of different aspects of the car like TGTT do, so it can be all sorted into groups. I am not so sure on a wiki, i would prefer to read information in the UKSC website format. Feels a bit odd reading it on a page which looks nothing like UKSC. Sorry not moaning just giving some feedback for you to consider either way its moving in the right direction! -

A valid point about TGTT is best for tech guides and stuff i was meaning to post this up a while back actually, i have submitted a few guides my self on TGTT and its good it gets put into the awsomely helpful section. thats the only downside with UKSC, there doesnt seem to be any management on guides or tech stuff for storage like TGTT do. I have posted up a few guides on here but they just get lost in the UKSC ether Maybe UKSC should be more pro active with walkthrough guides and then we wouldnt need to goto TGTT for them, plus it would drive more traffic to us which cant be a bad thing. Anyone got any ideas on prices to expect?

Yeah lots of tech stuff its great for that, but like you said there isn't exactly much banter on there eh, UKSC for the win! -
Where is it based?
