Its good, runs totally silent you cant tell its in there, i found that it actually cancels out torque steer completly when you boot it off the line, its when you take your foot off the throttle it can have a tendency to snap as the power bias switches wheels. It is also ever so twitchy driving flat out in a straight line, nothing bad but you can feel the torque bias as it shifts. This is only ever so slightly and is barely noticeable, you just learn to drive it. Its the best mod i bought for my car, on track it made the car into a dam monster, no more wheel spin lost power through spinning one wheel in a corner, its literally balls out everywhere I woudnt even look at a friction plate lsd such as cuso etc, pile of crap, there clunky, gotta use the correct oil or you knacker them, and noisy, jerky ergggh never read anything good about the friction plate ones, i would avoid!

Its not possible without doing some serious cutting of the bodywork, i have looked at it already, the fillercap neck goes inbetween the skin of the outside/inside of car. I am just gonna get a filler neck for the tank and then put a fuel cap on top of it which i can close. I'll have to open the boot to fill up

Got some more work done this evening, had about an hour of good sunlight before it got dark so connected up my fuel tank For those that need to know, the 3 pipes on the fuel pump do the following 1. Is a breather 2. Is the main fuel feed 3. Is the return fuel feed from the rail (small pipe on rail) Video is here of my antics, EP70 (boxy starlet) 4EFTE Turbo conversion part 11: Fueling setup http://youtu.be/o0a0cgHYneo Sorry its cuts off half way through, phone went dead and then it bloody pissed down, but you get a feel for what i am doing. I turned the car starter over and the fuel pump fired up and pumped fuel into the engine bay, quite literally, fuel filter is knackered so need to order a new one. I couldn't get the pump to work initially but turns out the loom has two earths for the pump which need to be connected, so don't forget those! Really happy the fueling is sorted now, got the major things in place now, so not long before i can start it.

It has a full EP82 loom in it which powers the engine but it also has the existing ep70 loom in it, I have wired both looms so when i turn the key it fires up both looms. That way i didnt have to modify anything in the dash, i can use the existing keys, stalks, instrument cluster. Ryan: Yes i like the idea of keeping the existing pea shooter but have a full system hidden in there somewhere, lol briliant I'll get him to weld a little tiny pipe out the back ha ha, I am sure prospeed will help me out with that I will be looking to plum in the fuel lines tonight, maybe even try starting it!

I have decided on a Prosport full stainless Decat system front to back, although i am gonna be keeping the exhaust hidden to keep the sleeper look.

Get your coding hat on socks!! -
I really am looking forward to finishing it, polishing it up and taking it to shows and stuff, there aint to many of these about these days

Sparky: Yeah i know im gonna struggle to fit it all in, tight is a bloody understatement, i have been looking it at it today though and i think i can still do it with some creative piping Socks: yes got a civic rad in it, sits in nice, not on the bottom brackets though unfortunatly, gonna have to make a bracket for it. Love or hate the steels, its all about grip for me (this is my sleeper track car after all )/, i could put some mint wheels on it but i think it would go away from the sleeper style i want. Maybe once i am bored with sleepin i'll put some smart rims on with stretched tyres (they also need a spray black too ) As for today i have been working on the fuel tank and getting the lines to the engine bay, took a look under the car today to see what i was dealing with The tank it held on with 2 bolts and two straps, a filler going into the tank plus a breather then also two fuel lines going to the front of the car (which is great because i can use these rather than running long lines my self) Pipes going into tank Pipes going out Got the tank off fairly easy and straight away i could see problems even considering using it for the 4e-fte First off its a completely different shape to the ep82 tank, the fuel pump hole is completely different size and also if you cut into it to use your own Walbro pump, the tank isnt physically deep enough to get it in, plus ontop of that there is no swirl pot. So in the bin that goes, surprisingly though the tank weighs virtually nothing i was expecting it to weigh about 10kg but its probably half that. Looking at this tank and then looking at the ep82 tank it dawned on me that if i did try swapping the tanks over it would be a fairly difficult job to secure it properly and without a ramp to work on i have decided to not do it while having the race tank available. You can see the depth difference here I'll be honest i am not mad about running the car with the fuel tank inside the car, worried about worst case scenarios in a bad crash and the tank getting pierced and then fuel inside the cabin, i'll have to work that one out later, but i am sure i will think of something So i just need to hook up some rubber piping to the rear lines to connect the tank and lines and we should be good to go to start the old bird!

No probs, i think i might be working up near Newport later in the week so will see if i can get to you. Craig

Yes i might actually look into this, doing the fuel lines for this is a bit of a cahoont. I will have to take both fuel tanks off and compare, but looking underneath i think they are completly different shape. Might have a go tonight and see what i can do

Was good to speak to your dad, managed to get that engine in his boot, just! You will have to let me know how you get on

Sounds sweet, a drop down menu system would be sweet as it would ensure people could update it easy -

Looks like someone started populating the bhp table but its fizzled out! -
Im still pissed i didnt get to have a go at you on track! ha ha
-
Yes i have been to your site a few times to help out with my ep70 turbo conversion, lots of good advice!

While i was out on the pop with my mates the other night, i thought of a brilliant idea for the club to do and will also be good for a bit of competition between us and our fellow club websites around the world. There is always loads of talk about bhp figures for starlets be it N/A or Turbo's, 1.3, 1.5 etc and what can and cant be done. How about doing a league table with various categories based on engine size, n/a and turbo and list everyone's best achieved bhp and torque figures. Obviously you would need supporting evidence like a dyno print out which can be linked too and then maybe your build thread, I think it would be good for a bit of competition. I know we have got the BHP table with some people on it, but there is no evidence or links for it, would be good to just have a bhp starlet members table so i can say my cars better than everyone elses sort of thing lol. What do you think?

Not much of my starlet now that i have used for the build!

Nice one lads, i still got quite a bit to do before it will drive 1. Somehow i need to fit in a FMIC into it, there isnt much room in the front 2. Drill in brackets for the fuel tank and run fuel lines 3. Civic rad brackets need to be fitted 4. Oil cooler needs to go in somewhere! 5. Tidy up the loom and cut out all the redundant parts as there is loads of unused wiring. 6. Wire in the engine sensors to the oil skool console, i.e oil pressure light, oil temp, fuel sender. and errm buy some new pants when i drive it for the first time lolz

Had a brilliant weekend working on the car, after a shit week with electrical problems which were depressing the hell out of me, we managed to fix it Turned out it was a bad earth to the gearbox which was causing the problems, thank god its fixed Electrics are now setup so the car will turn over on the key, haven't plumbed in the fuel lines yet but thats next on the agenda. Got the rear coilovers on and the car looks a proper sleeper now mwhahaha Next on my list of jobs is the fuel tank, the standard tank on this car isnt suitable for a turbo car as it doesnt have any baffle or swirl pot, as shown here inside my ep82 fuel tank. You can see the plastic pot which allows fuel to sit in it even if you bank hard so you dont get any air in your fuel lines (making your car run lean). Luckily i have bought Nightspirits custom made fuel tank so I am in the process of plumbing it into the boot. Walbro fuel pump fits straight in Now i have got to run fuel lines some how to the front of the car!! argghh
