Ha ha good effort Steve I was just wondering this yesterday on the various ones out there, the only reason i havent bought one really is the claims people make on them. It really is a stab in the dark on which one to buy and what performance you will get from it. Does anyone have any before and after dynos of any of these, i havent actually seen on paper proof of the power claims from them, be nice to see, anyone got any?

Cheap spring track day action Pembrey Race Circuit Every year i attend a track day in March organised by a friend who is a sprint enthusiast, he is good mates with the owner of the Track at Pembrey and gets the track at a good price. As you may know I am a bit of a trackday nut, so thought i would pass on the msg and invite everyone to this track day. I am not sure on how events are organised on UKSC but if the club didnt mind i wouldnt mind organising it for everyone to go if there is any interest, after all its what i love doing! Its either £120 for a full day of track driving Or

Wow looking at all of these it goes to show how much of a difference the impact makes depending on what you hit and how fast. I cant believe i hit the tyre wall in the Starlet at castle combe and there was relatively little damage. I must have hit it at a 45 degree angle to the passenger side sliding at around 40-50mph, and it barely crumped the wing. The car even went airbourne as we hit it and flipped me around 180 degrees! Nice soft rubber tyres my mate as the passenger did however shit him self!!
-
I thought that at first too so i drove careful with it, but once you hit about 4000rpm it seems the turbo hits terminal velocity and doesnt sound like its spinning any faster. Its the same if the wastegate is open i guess, even if your doing 8000rpm the turbo is still blowing as much as it can, just its dumping it down the exhuast. It doesnt spool up faster and faster to self destruct I think the natural wind resistence on turning the impeller will limit that. anyway i would prefer my intercooler on!!
-
Basically yes, sounds quite funny though when you accelerate as it sounds like a jumbo jet going up the road, the turbo is just blowing straight out into the engine bay, bet its windy under the bonnet ha ha. Think im gonna go pester the ebay guy to make sure hes posted it out
-
Ok maybe im just being lazy then eh! I just ordered 4 jumbo cans of spray on hammerite car undersealer. Cant be arsed with a brush lols, and yes that beam is gonna get it too! The underside is actually in not bad nick, it has got very light surface rust spots speckled everywhere, but they rubb off easy so looks like undersealing now is a good time. Thats a job for the weekend then, just gonna sit by my front door now waiting for my post man
-
If i can get the intercooler on before then i will, but it depends on when this guy from ebay posts it. I dont think i have any wheel nuts, but i will look I may have some around somewhere
-
Ha ha i could underseal it my self, but its a pain in the ass and to do it properly it needs to be done on a ramp, i dont fancy trying to jack it up and making a right mess trying to do it my self laying on my back on the floor! Plus you need a proper air gun too which i dont have.
-
Yeah its on the to do list, i just need to find a garage that can underseal it for me

sorted video out, my phone keeps doing that when i upload them.

Finally, the exhuast system is now done and Xzorst have done a fine job, and £100 cheaper than Prosport so was well chuffed. I have got a video too front to back of the system. Ep70 (Boxy starlet) 4EFTE Turbo conversion part 15: Custom full exhuast system http://youtu.be/tFiv6_duXqs The system is completly hidden from the rear too, you cant even see its got a thick exhaust on which is just what i wanted. If i get around to it i might get a pea shooter out the back for lols! It pulls well even without the intercooler connected so cant wait to try boost in it, need to get all the

I am looking at spraying my steelies black to make them look fresh, how do i do it, i have got black spray paint but wasnt sure if i can just clean them and then go spray the paint straight onto the metal. Do i have to primer them first or can i just spray them straight on?
-
Dropped the car off this morning to X-Zorst in Bridgend, hoping to go pick it up in a couple of hours! Hes busy putting the exhuast on, 2.5" system front to back but with the exhaust pointing downwards to maintain the sleeper FTW look!
-
I bet you didnt expect to get so many orders! Your gonna be a busy man!
-
Lol yes that is a worry! Yay i won the intercooler Got it for a bargain price too £43! better than £165 new!
-
Paid but i changed my order, want t-shirt and hoody both in grey, thanks!
-
Dont worry i got it sorted now with the intercooler, that one on ebay finishes in 15 mins and as along as i win it, it should fit perfect (Touch wood!) Yes gonna primarily track it but i want to get the paint/body work up to scratch too for shows and stuff. Its in good nick for 26 years but i want to get the bodywork mint if i can. Got some rust on the rear arch i need to sort out.
-
This is some serious shizzle right there, i want that 5e in my life!!
-
Nice thinking Mickyboy rotating the turbo would definetly be an option. Although to save me the hastle of doing it i'll see if he can route the piping without having to take it off first Save getting my hands dirty innit! lol
-
Hey lew what boost were you running before this happened, and what bhp output?
-
Does sound a bit pricey!
-
Finally! Intercooler problem now solved The dimensions to play with behind the grille are 700mm x 100mm x 280mm, got this one ebay ending this weekend so hopefully i can win it! Didnt want to pay £180 for a new one, seemed a bit pricey for just an intercooler. All i got to do now is win!!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...d=p5197.c0.m619 Ideally i wanted the same one with rear facing in and out's but i can live with top ones and reroute the piping

Happy birthday, whats your plans then
