Been a busy boy with the starlet Had the cars geometry setup at Avia Autos, so the camber and tracking are all spot on now, drives so much better. I also took the car to Gotboost and got it on the rollers On about the 5th power run i completly shit my self as the car literally exploded, for 15 secs i thought the engine had blown up, but a water hose had burst off dramatically with a big bang when it was going flat out and it made me shit my self, phew!!!, my heart jumped into my mouth for a seccond. We did a few more power runs and i settled on the car making 204hp at 1bar and 180.6f

he better hope its forged if hes wants 300bhp, otherwise he will get to see in person what his conrods look like going through his bonnet lol
-
If it wasnt 240 miles away i would be up for this as my car needs doing to get onto the leaderboard Think i wil have to settle for Gotboost in Bridgend, sigh!
-
he thought you meant car bits for sale, GTbitz is just his ebay name i think Yeah i would definetly buy one from him again, he gets the engines shipped in from Japan, whats good is that they are out of stock cars which havent been messed around with, so for the most part they are in really good condition. Its a little bit more expensive, but its worth it for not being messed around with a dodgy engine thats been abused running more boost. I think i paid £600-£650 for a complete engine with everything attached, CT9 turbo the lot so you could drop it straight in. I have got pics in my old EP8
-
ah yes its a bloody auto! although he does say he gives a manual box with it, so you could do a conversion. Nice car though

I am gonna buy 3 sessions this year so i am gonna book 12:18 SESSION K (INTERMEDIATE) 13:30 SESSION N (ADVANCED) 14:24 SESSION Q (INTERMEDIATE) I wouldnt worry about going on the intermediate there is virtually no difference from the last time i have done them, novice sessions are just for people who have never been on the track before, you have a few times so i would go intermediate. Its more to do with your driving than the car.
-
ill send tomorrow
-
Hey matt, yes i have bought two engines from him, off which one is in my car now. Hes a great guy and sold me two really good standard GT engines.
-
I am gonna pay for this tomorrow when i get paid, left it too late last time and ended up getting shitty times! I noticed the 11:42 session for novices is sold out already, better be quick!
-
Oh and you also need to take into consideration on why they went in the first place, high mileage, oil starvation, running too lean, low compression?
-
Unless your repairing it your self i would have thought the garage will charge you an arm and a leg to put new piston rings in as you need to pritty much completly strip the engine to get at them. I think you can do it with the engine in still but its bit pointless as if your pulling it apart that much you might as well get your bores checked too to ensure they are not worn. I reckon it would be easier and cheaper to buy another engine, drop it in your self or get the garage to do it (would be about £200 to fit at a guess), Then strip your old engine and sell the bits which are in good condi

If i had some spare cash i would buy this bad boy, it looks mint http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KP61-RWD-1982-TOYOTA-STARLET-1-3-AUTO-SILVER-/260939057875?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3cc12e0ad3 Taggy

Best place for custom exhausts in south west?
Taggy replied to jimmymac101's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Hey i just had an exhuast done and i too had the same problems of finding someone to do it at a reasonable price, was going to goto prospeed in cardiff who quoted me £260 but then i found someone who was half the price! They are a company called X-Zorst in Bridgend, i had a custom intercooler pipework made up and a full 2.5" system with a flexi and back box for only £250 for both!!! I believe the exhaust system was about £140 which was a bloody bargain, hes a great guy and will literaly make anything you want, he does loads of custom metal work and welding, so if you want somthing made hes t -
Thanks Keri It should be quite interesting to watch on track this year i promise!!

Thought i would post up some well deserved feed back, the stopping power on track with these things compared to the starlets stock brakes is truely astonishing. I had bought them to fit under my 15" wheels with my Starlet GT and it was definetly money well spent. Hammered the car around the track and didnt get any brake fade, no spongy pedal and definetly no boiling of my brake fluid Which was great as the stock brakes used to suffer really badly with all three after 10 mins of driving. Cant wait to use them again this year at the track event.... Brilliant!

Got a few bits and pieces i need to do to it at the moment, in particular i need to 1. Get the Geometry setup, being done this Tuesday 2. Rolling road it to find out what power its making and get the boost set to 1.0-1.1bar 3. Spray my wheels black (Done two of them so far ) 4. Put my oil cooler on 5. Connect up the oil pressure and temp gague 6. Give it an oil and filter change. Otherwise its good to go, got the old clocks put back in and wired up but i cant get the fuel sensor to work which is a pain, but then again the fuel tank only holds about 15 litres so it only does about 100 miles t

So when you passing your test then Josh, must be soon, did you dad do anything yet with that engine?

This might sound stupid but do you have to have a Jap car to go on track? My mate Stokedkid wants to come too but hes got a clio sport, will they let him on? If its not a problem stick is name down, hes a member on here too
