  1. lol sorry i think you misunderstood me, i meant was the engine for sale ok for the price/suitable
  2. James just posted this on my wall the little shit, now i might have to go buy it! I have been toying of starting another project now that my starlet is up and running. Want to go forged 5e at some point in the ep70 and its a fairly expensive process so wanted to start getting the parts bit by bit, James showed me a complete bottom 5e for sale on ebay I have got some spare cash lieing around http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130612944810?ssP...984.m1423.l2649 Wanted some advice on if its to expensive, worth a shot or leave it. I will be forged so am i right in saying i will only need the block and the crank? Cheers guys Taggy
  3. Coilovers I want to smash the fuckers!!!! Went to the garage today, i knew that the coilovers on my car hadnt been adjusted in over 3 years so i knew they were going to be a right cahooont to work on, I didnt even bother working on them my self as i didnt have the tools i needed, but it still turned into a nightmare, managed to get the drivers side suspension free to adjust the height, but the passenger side is jammed, have got the rings off on the top and the bottom but it will not rotate for love nor money had a torch on it it the lot. He said i could soak the whole suspension in paraffin over night and that should sort it he reckons, we tried for about 2 and half hours with no luck, pissed me off because it cost me over £100 in labour!!! I was expecting him to say don't worry just bring it back and charge me less but the fucker charged me full whack!! Not sure what to do now, try again to see if i can free it up, send it off to be serviced by D2 or just buy a new one. Seems a shame though as otherwise it works fine. Arggghhh!!!
  4. Wow amazing results for stock internals, you are sure to have some fun in that!
  5. I guess i could have rotated the turbo in hindsight, I had just given the car to the pipework dude at the time and said make it fit!! Its no longer than what it was on my ep82 so didnt bother me to much. Yes your right with the suspension, the rears are a fixed axle so you cant adjust the camber on them. It desperately needs doing though as its handling kinda weird at the moment since i swapped them over, the front geometry is all out of whack so looking forward to getting it sorted. Only problem i have now though is my coilovers are seized to hell with that lockring, i dont even know if hes gonna be able to adjust the height on them, gonna whack a load of pentrating oil on them tonight for him, i hope that will help!
  6. This car has never had it so good, its off to Avia Autos in Bridgend to get a full dollop of race handling if thats even possible in this little box lol! Gonna get it: Corner Weighted Full Geometry setup for aggressive track use Coilovers setup and the ride height sorted out (currently its rubbing over the bumps as its so bloody low!) I have been to Avia a few times now and its a first class service, guy has been racing for years and knows his stuff!! Their address is Avia Speed shop 4-8 Queens Court Bridgend CF31 3TQ Good times!
  7. Turns out my HKS actuator has packed in which was a close call as it was making my car overboost as the wastegate couldn't open. Just ordered one of these Forge Actuator bad boys from James, so looking forward to getting it.
  8. bloody phone keeps doing that! Sorted it now ;) I just had it weighed too today and its coming in at 778kg with a full tank, a bit heavier than the 750kg stock quoted figure, but i think the engine and gearbox were heavier and so were the coil overs. Happy days!
  9. I actually went to get it weighed the other week but they were on strike!! I'll see if i can get it done tomorrow when i am out in it. Get some fly by vids too then ;)
  10. Finally finished, i just need to wire my FCD in and stick a boost gague in and I am good to go ;) I'll have that sorted in the morning then its out for some bonkers driving ;) I took it out earlier but as expected it was hitting fuel cut, but it certainly gave an idea on how its gonna go. It feels so light and that it wants to go mad in a straight line! EP70 (boxy starlet) 4EFTE Turbo conversion part 16:IC plumbed in!! http://youtu.be/hiL0TThaCio
  11. Yes my mate works in DVLA, a van full of them went missing, which is why they changed over to the ones with the red front. They are not replacing everyones log book though, they only send you the new one if you change address, change car etc
  12. I have seen this posted before on TGTT, your right in saying the bolt pattern is different on the N/A compared to the turbo version. So you mean just get another 8 bolt final drive gear ring and then put the quaiffe onto that and back in the box? I cant see why it wouldnt, but i guess you wont know until you compare it ;) I have got detailed pics of fitting my quaiffe, you can check my final drive gear and compare ;) http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showth...rket-Quaife-LSD I put that together, hope it will help you compare the two. Craig
  13. yeah i posted up for an answer, and then answered my self with a solution!!
  14. Hahaha what a minge, i just found out that the green wire on the map sensor needs to be plugged in the correct way around on the FCD, i had it back to front! Will sort it tomorrow now ;)
  15. Plus another thing, i assume my car will now hit fuel cut without this installed, is that safe to do so? The rest of the fueling mods are still in place. I want to do some "Testing" tonight ;) I just took it up the road and without even giving it much beans its a bloody rocket ship and for some reason the turbo sounds 10x louder too, sounds like a plane taking off, possibly a leak not sure yet, which is why i want to go back out ;)
  16. Bah why is nothing ever straight forward! I have got a greedy FCD but im having problems with it, i just wired it in and when i start the car the engine management light wont go out and its running rough. I removed the FCD and the problem goes away, am i wiring it in wrong. Here is a pic of it, i just copied the way it came off the other loom, im confused!! There is a Black, Red, Green and White wire Now I am under the asumption Red is positive, black is negative and the green and white wires are the ones which tap into the boost sensor, or what ever sensor it is ;) I put that one into the lime green wire which it was in originally, i checked the diagram from another FCD to make sure, but it wasnt the same brand so wasnt sure if it was correct. Anyway with the FCD in its running crap, i must be doing somthing wrong Suggestions?
  17. Ha ha i have yet to taste boost in this, only had the car back 2 days ago from the workshop. I plan to take it out on boost this weekend I'll get some cheeky videos up. Yes Steve no problem putting this in the bible, would appreciate it!
  18. Just sent you a PM for your emb nazzurro19
  19. The wind and rain stopped me getting good shots as i didnt want to stay outside more than 2 mins! Managed to get these ones, ill get some better ones on the weekend. You can see it routes down and to the right, we had to cut out some metal to get it in to make it fit inbetween the radiator on the right. It then goes into the intercooler on the right, note how i have removed the bar from the centre of the bonnet, the intercooler fitted nicely under the bonnet catch, but as the bar was removed the catch wouldnt support its self so you could no longer close the bonnet as the catch would bend. If you look carefully you can see two additional bars ontop of the intercooler on the left and right, these hold the intercooler in place but also take over the job of the middle bar that we removed. I also had to move the horn , the rad has also been repositioned to the left by about 2 inches. The intercooler piping then pops out the top on the left and we have done a 180 back down to the turbo and 180 back into the turbo. A better view of the intercooler behind the front grille, its sitting too low at the moment and the bumper is obscuring the intake. It gets a feed from the bottom but i want to increase this, as only about 25% of the rad is in the open air. I plan to make some plastic vents which force the air to flow down to the IC from the front grille. I just need to go and get some clips for some of the fittings now as a couple of places are missing them. Those with a keen eye will notice that the power steering pump isnt there so its makes lots of space by the oil filter which is handy. Well chuffed so far though, i am hoping for some nice weather now to take it out I promise to get a video update of the car running on the weekend with any luck, preferably me burning off some bigger cars ha ha.
  20. funny you should say that i just posted up for info on it, its next my agenda of purchases for Christmas
  21. Struggling to find clear information on what i need all together to go for an E-Manage Blue setup. From what i can see i need E-Manage Blue Unit Field EP82 Harness, (so i dont have to screw around wiring it in) 3 Bar Map sensor (Do i need this??) A visit to Tuning developments to get it mapped. Is that everything i need? As for the costs, its much more expensive new than i was expecting, am i right in saying its £399 for the EMB unit £199 for the field harness (this seems a crazy price for a plug!) 3 Bar map sensor (cant find a price) and £250 for tuning developments to map it? If anyone has got a complete kit which is in excellent condition and comes with EVERYTHING i need, PM me a price.
  22. You would swear my car doesnt want to go out, its blowing a complete gale outside and its not just raining but chucking down lol!! All i want to do is take some pics, will defo be today some time
  23. Update: Ok my car is now back from the workshop and its got the intercooler fitted, all i can say its like porn in my engine bay, shame its all so well hidden behind the grille! I still cant believe we got it all in. If it wasnt so wankin dark after work i would have had pics up this evening I will get a load tomorrow, I just need to wire back in my Greedy FCD before i drive it, but otherwise its good to go Will let you know tomorrow!
  24. Ha ha good effort Steve I was just wondering this yesterday on the various ones out there, the only reason i havent bought one really is the claims people make on them. It really is a stab in the dark on which one to buy and what performance you will get from it. Does anyone have any before and after dynos of any of these, i havent actually seen on paper proof of the power claims from them, be nice to see, anyone got any?
