cool, yeah I am in that group buy too Just avoid booting it at full boost for long periods, i.e going down the motorway flat out kinda thing

oh yeah i bought a 5e a week or two ago that's part 2 of the ep70!

Here you go here are my plugs on a CT9 turbo running 1bar of boost As you can see they are a tan brown colour, yours are brownish but slightly white so looks like its running a bit to hot, get it on a RR or buy a wideband air/fuel sensor and get it checked. Last thing you want it to melt something and knacker your engine

the sound of that thing on the limiter is amazing, quality

Been a bit quite on the Starlet scene this month, been bloody skint with having to sort out my work car and the clutch being fucked, having to pay a wank load of money to get it sorted arghhh Only thing i have got to report is that I am looking to get some kind of decent management for adjusting the boost on my car. The boost levels seem to be rather unpredictable since going TD04 for some reason and i cant get it to stay at a set bloody level just by setting the actuator at a set level, either being to low or to high!! So did a bit of research and decided to go for the Gizzmo MS-2, which doubles up as a turbo timer, FCD, and a nifty EBC which will actively control my boost pressure to a set level So with any luck i can tell it to run at a level and it will adjust my actuator as needed on the fly, bonza!!!

ah get it braced lad otherwise you will be taking it off quicker than you put it on

ah sorry forgot to mention the fueling was adjusted between 0.8bar and 1.0 bar, it was running a bit rich so he reduced the RRFPR

I am looking to get one of the groupbuy wideband air/fuel kits and i wanted to know if they are accurate enough to adjust my fueling my self on my RRFPR. Its anoying that i have to do it on the rolling road every time i want to check it. My car seems to be guzzling alot of fuel i.e i get about 65 miles for 14 litres (£20 quid) which works out about 21mpg which is bloody awful. I think my car is running really rich, This is the last rolling road print out i have done from last month, can people take a look at the specs in relation to the fueling, it notes the fuel air mix through the rev range. Is this set correct or is to high/low just right? Red line is 0.8bar Blue is 1.0bar

I am wondering how much i need to be worrying about this, it jumps out of 5th when i load the engine but I wanted to know if will be ok to keep using it. Especially if i plan to use it on track, i figure that i rarely ever use 5th gear on track anyway so maybe it wont be an issue. I am just trying to avoid removing my gearbox, as it was a right fucker to get it onto the mounts in the ep70 Reading on the net it seems the 5th gear pop out syndrome is a common fault on this model of gearbox. Dont think i will bother going down the road of repairing it as if this has gone, its likely the whole box is in similar condtion, had noticed that 2nd and 3rd i have to be more gentle these days putting it in to change without any crunches.

My starlet has just decided to start popping out of 5th gear, i fear this may be an expensive fix!

engine light on the dash? does it start boosting then cut out? maybe fuel cut?

I will be looking soon to get my 5e sent off to get the machine work done on it ready for a forged build. Can anyone recommend anyone to send it to? I know of one machine shop in Swansea in the enterprise park in Llansamlet but never actually had any work done there aside from HG skims.

Wow its coming along nicely and that nose cone looks better with a bit of primer on it already. Good effort getting all those jobs done today, that clear cam cover looks mint with the cam inside:)

i guess at the end of the day its a 2nd hand engine and your never going to be 100% sure, but i had two good ones from him so cant complain

Well it depends on the parts as and when the come up, i'll be looking to get it done by mid summer hopefully. Its so cold outside at the moment its putting me off working on the car
